Is JoePa's house for sale? Plus a JayPa rant...

Sunday afternoon, I was giving a buddy of mine from out-of-town a tour of State College & Campus, and took him by the Paterno home at the end of McKee. In the front yard was a knocked over realtor sign saying something like "Reduced Pricings." It did NOT say "For Sale." I just found this VERY interesting. Does anyone know anything about this?

Also, I really am starting to despise JayPa. IF Devlin or Clark or both of them perform well, I will give the majority of the credit to the player and NOT to JayPa. If anything, I'll only question as to why oh why we didn't see either/both of them in previous years. Reading the Daily Collegian today, getting quotes from JayPa about his Spread HD offense (5$ he overheard some kids calling a backyard football play to that...during a grade-school recess game) is ridiculous.

"It's beyond spread," quarterbacks coach Jay Paterno said. "It's a high definition NFL passing game with the spread offense. It's really a glorified wishbone offense."

What the hell are you talking about JayPa? If this offense is so good, why didn't we see it last year w/ DC17? B/C this "beyond spread NFL passing game" bullcrap you've invented wouldn't have gotten us 8 regular wins, a .500 record in conferance and a 20-point shellacking at home to Ohio State and couldn't have scored 10 points at Michigan? Really? This offense is that great, but couldn't have accomplished any of that? Wow. If the reason we WEREN'T running this offense last year is b/c last years offense was actually better than this alternative...we're screwed.

Sooner or later, JoePa will leave PSU and ride off into his much-deserved retirement glory. I love JoePa, thru and thru. Great guy, great coach (and in that order). Here's to hoping, however, we no longer have to put up w/ his idiot son and his grade-school offensive philosophies.

Is this going to be DC17's last eligible year to play football, does he have 2 years left, or is it still up in the air? I can't seem to get a clear answer on that so I'm posting it to the PS Football Gurus...

Loved the article on DC17 btw. I've been a fan of his since the start of the 06 season, and you can ask anyone that knows me personally I was calling for this guy after Morelli's 4th start that year. He has "it." He has, as my Jewish father would put it, the "chutzpah" or attitude I like in a QB. I think DC17 will make mistakes, maybe even more so than Morelli in terms of TO's but he goes for it. He doesn't play timid, or scared, which is something I'm looking forward to seeing.

Best of luck to DC17, and keep up the good work Mike! Love the blog!
