Who will be 49ers top RECeiver this year?
I'd like to think at least 80% of 49ers fans were happy on day one of the NFL Draft. I know I was.. I was explaining to my friends what we needed, and who was left and who I wanted (Crabtree-Jerry Rice fan you think?). Every pick, was literally more AND MORE, Suspenseful.. I would say it reminded me of the excitement, just short of the 49ers winning the Superbowl, however with a much shorter shelf life.. I'm waiting to restock..
But as much as I want Crabtree to be very successful.. I don't know if I would put my money on him catching the most balls (I would LOVE for him to prove me wrong) This year?
I really think Josh Morgan could really be the workhorse on the receiver squad, and I also think the one to battle him for it will be Isaac bruce. If Crabtree does fall to the #1 slot, he's going to get the #1 guy or a double team, leaving Morgan and Bruce in Single coverage.. Josh Morgan showed amazing gametime ability, and already has a repore with Shaun Hill. However, Bruce's wisdom, and smarts got Shaun out of trouble, a lot of times in 2008. I have to think when Shaun heard Bruce was coming back, he was the most excited.
Yes, I realize I stated that Hill will be behind center at the start of '09. Alex Smith doesn't have a repore with any of the 3, but does with Battle, and Jason Hill, Hill has also been coming along..
Also.. I realize, I didn't mention Zeigler.. sorry I'm pretty sure we're gonna lose this guy, due to the Jones transaction, whom I also didn't mention, he is the biggest question mark of the bunch?
So which one of these guys, do you think is going to be catching the most passes, and do you think any of them will make the pro bowl this year?

Best Football Rivalry?
What is the best Rivalry in Football today?
Imho, the 49ers and Cowboys, in the 90's, was unparralleled. I'll never forget, Ricky Jackson, while on the 49ers, literally, knocking out Emmitt Smith, in the backfield, after comming unblocked, on a run play, at candlestick park. It was the most breathtaking play, I have ever seen, at a game, where I was in attendance.
But, besides that play, the rivarly was even more breathtaking.. nothing was more intimidating than Aikman, Harper, and Irving, coming to town. The picture of Alvin Harper, jumping 20 feet high, to grab a downfield ball, to put the Cowboys in scoring range, still scars my mind.
Most of this Rivalry started from "The catch".. Montana's pass to Clark, that sent the Cowboys packing, and put the 49ers in their 1st superbowl... But, It wasn't untill the Young/ Aikman era, that it realized.
So, who is the best rivarly today?
Colts/ Pats?
And let's not forget about, other great Rivalries, like Steelers/ Raiders?
And my personal favorite question on the topic..
What is your most memorable play from a rivalry game?
(and no it doesn't have to be a legendary rival, it could be two teams from the same division, or two playoffs teams, that met regulary, for consecutive years. Just want to hear some great memories!)

New or old?
We have a new..
..President, Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, a WR , a new 3rd sting QB?
We have are old Fulback, back, and an new, oldschool mindset.
Singletary Spouts off as it's a new era.. ..well it is.. but?
Is this new era, just a rude awakening.. a reminder.. of what, not only this sport has lost, but everday life in general?
Does Mike Singletary's new era, consist of something new? or is it something we lost, and need to remember?
Is the Hiring of Jimmy Raye, the search for a back up tail back, and resecuring the run blocking, Full back - we had let go with haste (My favorite free agent signing!)....
..Going to bring us something new?
Or is it the biggest step back, Towards.. :) .. our winning ways of the past?
I know there are those who get caught up in media, well obviously my opnion is.. ..hearsay isn't real, what happens on the field, is real.
I believe we have a a real coach, and a real football team, and this new era, WILL have us back, to our old self again..
So what do you think is so new, or old, about Mike Singletary's coaching philosphy..
And most of all.. what new/old things would you like to see, out of this new/old era?
(Dropping his pants doesn't count!, THAT'S HEARSAY!)

Physical with an (F)
Well.. what exactly does this mean?
I personally believe, it's Singletary's analogy, of the emotion an attitude, that is the soul of his vision.
When you are in a physical contact sport, or even a fist-fight, and you are putting everything on the line, and you are using the inner rage, you've held back, for that moment..
..it's very likely, you are going to yell something at your oppenent, that has the F-word in there somewhere, or some other foul language.
"You F@@@, I'm going to kick your A$$!" - among many other variations..
He is going to get in his players face, they either make it, or they break, and he WILL NOT play anyone! who cannot face the music, and perform.
That's my opinion anyways, how about yours?

Cornerbacks and Saftey's
So we heard about Atogwe ..gone
..and Jones ..interesting
We are unsure about Williams and Goldson..
We ARE sure about Roman, but what is the best fit?
Maybe we should think outside of the box,(again)
I know it was brought up before, but what about moving Harris to FS, and Looking for a corner?
How hard of a look have we taken at CB's, coming out of the combine, and the FA's that will be available on Friday?
At first thought, I would think, finding a saftey would be easier than a corner, but now I'm not so sure, especially, now that they are saying, the FS, is already on the team?
Any idea's on cornerbacks? ..Rookies or vets?

Laughter IS the best medicine!
And I would love to hear some football jokes..
I unfortunately don't know any good ones.. I could tell ya lot's of Musician jokes because that's my profession, such as "how many bass players does it take to screw in a lightbulb?"..answer.."none, the keyboard player does it with his left hand."
Does anyone know any good football jokes? please?
Anyone related to a NFL player, that get they could get one from, to tell us?
I just need a good laugh..
A funny story even?

Best NFL QB right now?
Is it Drew Brees, my personal favorite for the title..
or did Eli finally make the grade in winning more money, than his big brother, at the pro bowl, this year, after matching his siblings championship title?
Will Kurt Warner come back to be a shoe-in? or was Rothlisberger's winning drive, enough to win us all over?
Will Brady come back and seal the deal, that he is the best ever? or will Cassel, show everyone, he is the new kid in town..
Will Aaron Rodgers, have a break out year?
What about Mr. big mouth Jay cutler..or Philip Rivers and how about the Jags David Garrard..
And what about Jamarcus?? ..ok scratch that thought..
Where would you put Chad and Brett?
..or the hottest topic of all.. Shaun and Alex?

Best Performance by a QB EVER!
What is the best performace, you have ever seen, in a pro NFL game by a Quarterback?
any Quarterback?
For me? ..that would be a monday night game, between the Chief's and Bronco's, Elway and Montana, were both unstoppable, it was the most thrilling game, I have ever watched!
All though Montana's last minute superbowl TD Drive with seconds left was awesome, and you know.. Santanio Holmes, made Rothlisberger look pretty good too..
What's your favorite QB performance?

2.Steve Young/ Troy Aikman/ Brett Farve - 3 way tie.
3.John Elway
4.Jeff Garcia
5. Joe Montana (he came back from his back injury, and he's my fav..lol!)
But I would love to hear from some of those a little older and younger - what they think.

A show of hands for the two Matt's please.
FOOCH'S NOTE 7:45PM: Given their wall-to-wall coverage of the combine, I definitely think a tip of the cap is in order for Matt Maiocco and Matt Barrows.
_______________________________________
I know we all don't agree, on Shaun, or Alex, or Samurai Mike even..
But I think we can all agree, that Mr. Maiocco, and Mr. Barrows, with their different backgrounds, consistantly, keep us up to date, as unbiased as they can, seemingly working together, taking turns, posting real stuff! ..instead of just copying someone else, and putting their name on it.
I raise my glass to the 2 Matt's, won't you join me?
