Oklahoma To Take On Stanford In The Sun Bowl

We all knew we were going to the Sun Bowl and now we have an opponent, Stanford.

We have played two Heisman candidates (Suh & McCoy) so why not take on a third in Toby Gehart.

This should be a very entertaining game and I haven't seen a line yet but I wouldn't be shocked if we opened as a 4 point favorite.

The Big 12's TV schedule came out today and some of the nation will get to see one of the best old school rivalries in all of college football as Oklahoma and Nebraska will play at 7 central on ABC.

Landry Jones Will Start Against #17 Miami

Sam Bradford continues to make progress, but not as much as Coach Stoops would have liked, so Landry Jones will get the start on Saturday.

It will be Jones' third straight start filling in for Bradford, but first true road game.

Thank goodness our Defense has been on of the best in the Nation.

Court records reveal Florida State turned in OU in Balogun case

It looks like the two game series between us and Florida State just got a whole lot more interesting as it turns out that Florida State's compliance department was the one who asked the NCAA to look deeper into the eligibility of MLB Mike Balogun.

Eight Sooners Selected For The Preaseason All-Big 12 Team

The Preseason All-Big 12 teams were announced today and they have a very strong Oklahoma presence on it. Eight Sooner, led by Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Sam Bradford, made the team while five Oklahoma St. Cowboy's made the team.

The team is also very slanted to the South as 21 of 26 players on the team are from the South division.

In addition to the 8 Sooners and 5 Cowboy's, four players represent Texas, three from Baylor, two from Kansas and Nebraska each and one each from Texas Tech and Missouri.

Great news out of Norman today as Willie Warren announced via text message that he will indeed come back for another year at OU. He made the right choice and I am not just saying that because I wanted him back for next year, he needs another year at least.

I was originally going to stay out of all of this Texas 2008* Big 12 Championship stuff because it was last season and really, who cares anymore?

Well I found this story just too funny and pretty much sums up how we all should feel about this.

On Monday Coach Stoops was asked about all the hubbub about the * and what he thinks about it. Well Coach Stoops gave a great one liner that sums up how we all should probably feel about this.

It doesn’t matter to me at all. I know there isn’t one (an asterisk) on ours. I know where the trophy is.

So guys just remember, we know where the trophy is.

1st Annual Crimson & Cream Machine Bracket Contest Update

So the Final Four is set and ready to go. We have a tight race in the 1st Annual Crimson & Cream Machine Bracket contest with a possible Sooner related prize*.

*(Prize is still pending, might just be some respect)

So we have a tie at first place and they both have the same possible point remaining, however; ThunderMav has North Carolina winning it all while ReddirtSooners has UCONN winning it all.

Next Monday we could have a title game of UNC and UCONN which would make for some drama in our challenge. Those two are the only two that have a shot at winning since the rest of us with teams remaining are the same as those two. A Championship matchup of Michigan St and Villanova would produce a tie though.

I will take some suggestions for a prize if there is something you guys think would make for a good prize in the comments. In the mean time, thanks for playing.
