La Russa still unsure of future
You guys think there is any chance he doesn't return? I have to think that would be a good thing for several reasons. By all indication Pujols is fond of him and is anything but a lock to remain with the Cardinals once in free agency. Duncan seems also to make his decision based on La Russa's. We all know that La Russa does the best with what he's given, I can't imagine the Cards not taking a step back without him.
Peter Gammons on Marmol pitching in DR
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3857199&name=gammons_peter
Just wanted to see what everyones thoughts were on this article about Marmol not only pitching the DR getting ready for the WBC. Personally, I like the WBC but selfishly would like a total of 0 Cubs players, especially pitchers, participating in the event. I understand that position players are more likely to get hurt because they are playing more, but the thought of Marmol pitching from now until at least October of next year is pretty troubling. Especially with how much Lou used him last year and will probably use him this year. Even if he is the closer, I would expect him to frequent those 4 out saves that we often see by certain closers. Anyways, just a little non-Peavy, non TR/tribune company, talk for a cold saturday in Chi.

13 game flex pack on sale tomorrow
For those of us not lucky enough to have season tickets like Al, but are on the waitlist, the 13 game flex pack goes on sale tomorrow at 10 am CT. This is my first year being able to take part in it living in Chicago, so if anyone has any advice on how to go about this, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm not even sure what kind of choice I'll have or if I can even buy pairs of tickets, but, its better than nothing.
Sportscorner
Obviously this doesn't exactly pertain to the Cubs, but I was wondering if anyone knew whats going on with the Sportscorner across from Wrigley. I live on Fremont about a block away and still can't figure out what is going on. The place is completely demolished right now and I haven't been able to find any info on whats going to be in place. Anyways, hopefully someone knows whats up on a day with no cubs news out there. Thanks.
Wood agrees to terms with Indians
According to the tribune the deal is basically done: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-10-winter-rumorsdec10,0,2321698.story
Obviously, very sad to see Kerry go. I don't mind him in the AL in Cleveland though, another city with a good fan base and they think they are working on a "curse" of their own. Have a long way to go though, haha.
At this point, can we FINALLY admit that there is a better chance of Jake Peavy being a member of the Cubs than Kerry Wood? Or tomorrow will people still think that this was just some ploy and the Indians will now be part of a 7 team trade bringing Peavy, Roberts and Kerry Wood back?
