I wrote this as pesimistacly as possible. Am I a bit dejected yes , but there are positve spins to "most" of these (34-0 no way to make that positive unless you played to win the g... no) but if you can't pull something from strife then you are not truly living life. This has been my week in a nutshell

Sunday - The chiefs get annihilated to the tune of 34-0. I watched the whole game because that is as close to masochism as I come. I am a displaced Homer in the fact that I have 3 chiefs on my fantasy roster (chose best available…. Sounds familiar), D-Bowe, T-gone (foreshadowing [another beautiful literary element] and LJ at pivotal positions. So you have to start LJ right well I left Tim Hightower on the bench (scored 15 pts) and Steve Slaton (scored 21) while he put up the Roc Diamond just rounder. I lost by 4 @&*^% pts and went to 4-1 joining every other team with at least one loss.

Monday – I have always enjoyed Baseball… I now have several reasons to dislike the Boston Red Sox. Yeah they own the Angels in the post season, yeah they were a better team this year and in previous years then the Halo’s, and yeah they are well coached and play together. But not like a team that everyone slept on and is going to beat them because they are younger and twice congealed (especially the hawk) compared to them and they don’t know they are playing the "Bohstun Red Soxck"; resurrected from the curse of the late great Bambino. I still dislike them (and the patriots - that's more envy) Well we know the rest Chowd’s 3 Halo’s 1 (games)

Tuesday – My 401 K quarterly report…. The fed dumping money into the system to no avail… need I say more (I will with this cartoon {aside my first name is in fact Ray}

via www.cagle.com

Wednesday – 12:12 pm after five + years of loyal service to my former employer (foreshadowing kinda) My position was eliminated. The owner who has treated me like a son (since we went to Vegas and got drunk and played black jack at the playboy casino while he ignored every single one of his wife’s phone calls) Told me as he handed me my check if there is anything I can do let me know, a letter to your next employer anything… I wanted to say stroke a *^&%($% check for my bills and my kids college tuition that should be fair you &*%&( (^%^. Instead I left amicably.

What next….

Awww f*(&

Now Trade Rumors of Tony Gonzalez. If they do trade him Shame and a curse must be laid on the entire organization. They are bound to not get enough and even if they do (I have been told I look like Nicolas cage widows peak... I think is why) I am clairvoyant enough to know that they will blow the picks.

So lets here some positive from this... If you can't think of anything you might be heterophobic... I used to watch 7th heaven just because of her.

"i am going to start for the Chiefs and Mr. Sackintosh said 'great because it won't be his fault that I get dirty' followed up by a classic "good grief"

Similar subject... well maybe not

I do have a question though

If the skeleton shows up and they show it in the View box with a pink jersey on and we lose....

Would we get the same reaction from D-Bowe as T.O.

Do they even have pink Thigpen jerseys in a skeleton's size????

I hope I didnt beat you to the punch parade but I had to do something because honestly I am not looking forward to Sunday

Defensive tackle Maurice Murray, offensive tackle Ken Shackleford and defensive end Jonal Saint-Dic were let go Tuesday, the first day the NFL requires rosters be trimmed to get down to 75 players. Receiver Kevin Robinson, who's missed the entire preseason with a knee injury, was moved to the injured list and won't count against the Chiefs' roster.

I am writing this from work because I woke up thinking about it after I watched the game yesterday. I hate to put a disclaimer on it but.. I could be incorrect in some of the assignments (I don't think so but maybe) I am open to discussion on this it might take me a while to respond but TG was open!

During the second drive in the first quarter with about five minutes left its third down and the Chiefs needed 8 yards to convert (if memory serves correct) The receivers were covered through progression Brodie arrived at the check down to Smith. While I watched on DVR at full speed it looked like the safe play and probably the correct choice. But... when the replay came on I noticed something that just did not make since at all. The play looked like a weak side flood (I am not that versed in play calling or actual plays less my experience with Madden) which is a play I run in madden on third down often especially in mid yardage territory 4-7 yards or possibly on an audible if outside linebackers look to be blitzing and I can pick one of them up. The formation normally starts out with a modified I with the full back lined up offset to the left the TE can line up on the line or in the slot, with two wide receivers, and the half back lined up further behind the full back yet directly behind the quarterback. The wide receivers run corner routes and or comebacks, The full back can run a pattern to the flat or can stay in to block, the half back runs a check down to pull the middle linebacker towards him. The key to this whole play is the TE and the linebackers. Tony chipped the strong side backer at the line and Damion took over so Arizona was rushing five (w/ the d line) the weakside backer was covering the full back (cox I think) and Kolby started to make his cut over the top of the lines. When Colby did that the linebacker normally freezes at this point you have just a split second to make a decision depending on what else is going on

1. Check down because the safety is coming over to help with the tight end and the coverage downfield is on point. (Which I did not see the angles were not great from the replays though)

2. Check down because the blocking is breaking down (it was not)

3. Stare down the check down and the second the MLB commits hit the window outside of his reach to the streaking TE for atleast 15 - 20 yards

Brodie chose option number two kinda…Show him what he won Vanna. A front row seat to the current MVP of our team Dustin as he continues to gain more practice than any other punter in the league!!!

I joke a lil and hopefully Dick and Brodie have already gone over the film and realized this. I have never put down Brodie before (except when he tried to make the shoelace tack in Detroit and got his hand stomped on) and I know it is preseason, he might still be a little shell shocked from last year getting knocked around, and chan might want to show some reserve…. No I’m sorry from what I saw Brodie blew it. I know it is just one play but come on. I practiced with my freshman football team in high school during hell week and never played organized football again but I know that play was blown. (that is in fact the epitome of arm chair quarterback J)

I have yet to see the progression from Brodie Croyle that warrants a starting job in the NFL. I hope he proves me wrong or my Rewind button on my DVR might wear out if the season is anything like that play.

It's late... (actually early for you guys) I'm watching my kids tonite and my five month old daughter needed a bottle. now im going to need more sleep but can't. That is the beauty of this site and the Chiefs. I hate to paraphrase Jimmy Falon and a lame movie (fever pitch) but... "there always gonna be there. Year after year. Spring training till the fall". That is the perfect statement from a fan. If my wife were to never come back from her sisters (unlikely...tempting but unlikely) I know the Chiefs are still gonna suit up for atleast 16 a year. If I lost my job I know there would still be highlights (maybe not in HD for me beacuse I would cancel that service). If I got in a car accident and was forced into traction I could still watch from the hospital (if they have Directv) I guess what im saying (less the slight sarcasm of the rest of this) is I know Arrowhead Pride will be here to allow the epitome of Chief fans to talk about it. Chris hats off to you and all the major contributors (you know who you are) for not posting articles about Peterson being the antichrist, why we should take a look at Brett Favre, the optimism on this sight (never blind), and the lack of complete negativity. Arrowhead Pride truly is just that ARROWHEAD PRIDE. Happy birthday

FREE AGENCY VS DRAFTING... Tired Subject I know.

I had a view on this debate that no one has really opened my eyes to. Has anyone ever signed a major free agent and then won the superbowl following that off season?

I was trying to do research on any correlation between Super Bowl winners and MAJOR Free agent signings. I figure a good starting point would be the new CBA started in 1993. I guess the reason is not to justify the Allen trade but put it in perspective. From my memory no huge name star has ever been signed to lead a team to glory. Granted some diamonds have been stolen from the rough and placed on pedestal’s. Steve Young from the Yucs (which is what they were at the time); even though he was a first rounder in 84. Favre from the Falcons, (No need for Vick if they had kept him). Home grown talent obviously tops the list. The triplets in Dallas (can’t say much more). The donkeys with smelway (even though he took nearly 15 years to garner the true promised land) and TD (I think Bowe should do the KC salute next time he scores in or against the donkeys). The only free agent acquisition that I can think of (and really love to this day and so do some of you) is Chucky to the Buc’s. I don’t believe he was the reason the bucs got there everyone knows Dungy built that team, even though some might say he couldn’t get them over the top. Playing the team that you coached and being able to call out plays before they took place was great… actually priceless because it was the Raiders. I’m not saying that doesn’t count but it was not a player that was pivotal. The likely hood of those circumstances ever happening are nearly impossible (definitely definitely definitely unlikely like figuring out whose on first). There have been a lot of people who have spent money in hopes of getting that one player and fallen short. Example New England with Moss… The Raiders spend every offseason but that’s because Al has Alzheimer’s.

I guess I pose the question can anyone think of a team to have MAJOR offseason acquisition and follow up with a Super Bowl win?

P.S. Lawrence Tynes and Kawika Mitchell do not count.

"3. Larry Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs: There are no questions about Johnson's ability; he's made the Pro Bowl in two of his three seasons as a full-time starter. However, there are plenty of reasons to wonder about the supporting cast that will surround him as he returns from a season-ending foot injury sustained midway through the 2007 campaign.

Brodie Croyle remains an unproven quarterback. There are currently no reliable receivers outside of wideout Dwayne Bowe and Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez. And we haven't yet mentioned the offensive line, a unit the Chiefs are rebuilding this offseason. The point to be made here is that Johnson, while hurt last season, wasn't exactly tearing the league apart when he was healthy (559 yards in eight games, 3.5 yards per carry). With him on that offense -- and every defense in the league poised to stop him -- there will be ample frustration again this fall.

Prediction: He'll gain 1,200 yards but he'll be complaining about the offense of new coordinator Chan Gailey by Week 3. "

By Jeffri Chadiha

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=chadiha_jeffri&id=3423931

Good Morning,

A little background. I have been a Chiefs Fan since Montana was signed in '93 (My dad grew up in the bay area which made me a niners fan by birth and explains my affiliation with Montana). The 90's were great along with the early 00's. I dispise the idiot Raider Fans (A fan who can not have a conversation about there team without wanting to fight) and truly dislike the Colts because of the rivalry instilled in the playoffs. I watched from nosebleed seats at Qualcomm with a 103 degree temp while we rolled on to 11-1 and to finish 13-3 in 2003. I drove from Cali 3 yrs ago to watch the chiefs practice in Arrowhead and be a part of Vermeil's last year. My 11 mos old son and I were photographed by my wife with Carl Peterson at Qualcomm last season (nice guy in person no problem at all posing for the picture) I would consider my self a die hard. This sight has already given me more info than I would have ever found on my own. Thanks.

I did have one question... Was Tyrone Brackenridge at Practice? If so I assume his Jaw is fine and healing.

Thanks
