AP tailgate for home opener?
Hey guys,
After a lot of debating on which game I would go to this year, if I could afford any, I came across some good seats for this weekends game vs. the HATED Raiders. I have seats in section 334 Row 6. I am so amped to be there for opening day and can't wait to see the stadium improvements. I am pumped to be a part of the SEA OF RED and the loudest stadium in the NFL.
After paying $20/each for 2 seats to each of the last four home games ( 20 rows up, lower section, corner endzone) it is hard to pay $80 for an upper level seat. Love my chiefs though!
I remember there being a discussion about a possible AP Tailgate party or just a place to meet up with some guys on here. Is this still going on?? Just thought it would be cool to meet up with all of the people from AP that are headed to the home opener. I will be wearing my AP Wolfpack shirt along with my DT Jersey.
My g/f and I will be driving up from Springfield on Sun. morning. We usually get to the stadim around 9 or 9:30 and mix a few drinks before we walk across the parking lot and head in. We park across the street at the gas station and there is only two of us, so tailgating doesn't really happen. I was just wanting to see if we could meet up with anyone from AP.
If anyone has any plans to meet anywhere in the parking lot, please let me know.

DT VINDICATED!
Derrick Thomas is in the Hall!!! Long Overdue! Wow I got chills just listening to Rich Eisen say his name. I am so happy that he finally got in! This is a well deserved honor that finally lets people know that he was for real. Not that we had any doubts but apparently some voters did.
I know this will be a big topic here on AP but I thought it would be cool to make the first post about it!

Hard Hittin' D
I know I'll probably get lit up for making this point but I couldn't help but notice some enthusiasm and hard playing defense on Sunday at Oakland. Granted we didn't get much pressure and played a mediocre game but I was impressed with the way we flew to the ball and laid some hats when we got there.
I know, I know, if Jamarcus Russel could throw a decent pass this game would have been different, but all things included, we looked like a tougher defense.
Derrick Johnson laid out Justin Fargas and the corners made some good hits. I think we have a long way to go to be a respectable or feared defense but putting hits on people all game long is a step in the right direction. I think even if we give up tons of yards and get burnt on occasion, there is something to be said for a hard hitting defense.
I am not thoroughly impressed by the overall team performance against the Raiders but a win is a win and I will take it. I hate seeing these posts about how this is a step in the wrong direction because we barely beat a bad team (which they pretty much handed us) but as long as I can recall the Raiders and Chiefs games are always close and physical no matter how good the Chiefs are and how bad the raiders are.
Just thought that this was a performance that I had not seen out of our defense in a long while and I hope we can build on it.
Go Chiefs!!!

Don't Get Rid of Herm!
I am new to this site and after a few hours of reading through posts I can see that I will now be addicted to it. I have been a chiefs fan since I can remember and have all of the same pain and hope that most of you on this site do.
I don't, however, like to see these negative posts about the coaching staff and the play calling. Sure, I am like everyone sitting at home or in the stands and cuss the coaches out for what look to be like bad calls.
I deal with people at my work everyday that say Herm is gone after this season and I have to stand up for him. I hope some people read this and back me up that Herm is one of the best coaches in the NFL. When the Chiefs signed him I was so excited. Now, granted the record has been steadily declining but I like the way he told everyone, look we are rebuilding - we are going to build a team, not patch one together.
The Denver game, The Jets game, and yesterday's game prove that Herm is making his impression known. The team respects him and even as frustrated as they and all of us are, they see what Herm is doing.
Basically I'm just saying that I hope Herm doesn't get fired half way through this thing, he's here for the long haul and always takes responsibility.
Does anyone remember the transparency he had at a press conference with the Jets.
RUN THE BALL!
STOP THE RUN!
NO TURNOVERS!
That is his gameplan and his motto and I respect Herm Edwards and as a diehard Chiefs fan I am in for the longhaul!!!!
