A source close to Kansas State basketball coach Frank Martin said Monday morning that Martin will become South Carolina’s next coach. The source confirmed a report in The State, a newspaper in Columbia, S.C., that said Martin will be introduced as the Gamecocks’ coach on Tuesday. The State also reported that a trustees meeting had been called to discuss "a contractual matter."

Kind of reminds me of Chelsea's neon uniforms from a few back.

Looks to stay within the $5 mill range.

Won 91 games this year and 2 World Series in 5 years. Didn't realize the Boston gig was that tough of those results can't keep you the job. It was "mutual"though...mutual.

Obviously it will be hard to achieve those exact same results as predicted, and that's IF we get Shields, but theoretically is could work...right?

Requires Insider Anyone who has had to endure Davies' pitching in Kansas City over the last few years can attest to how often his fastball gets whacked all over the park, but the data reveals just how awful his fastball has actually been. Using FanGraphs' pitch type linear weights, we can see that Davies' four-seam fastball has been 30 runs below average since the start of the 2010 season. That's a staggering total given that he's managed to throw only 220 innings in 42 starts over the last year and a half.
