Innovative Ideas...

The overwhelming majority readers of this fanpost will ride the suggestions off as asinine and ridiculous, and well, your probably right. These are the ideas that you've all thought of but realized they were too retarded to actually formulate into words. So ive reached deep into the inner mechanisms of my brain, and dragged out these intellectually small, yet revolitionary ideas, to transform your Miami dolphins into the Juggernaut we all know they can be!

Talking Lauranitis

The other day i read an interesting article in The Sporting News about 40 yard dash times. In the article it mentioned which teams take the least value value in the 40 times, the Dolphins, Colts, and the Patriots value it the least, while Raiders, Rams, and Cheifs value it most. Looking at the way the previous drafts have gone it seems like the Fins, Colts, and Pats know whats up. This being said, James Lauranitis ran a gawd awful 40 time, and saw his draft staus drop faster than the NYSE. A few months ago, the 6 foot 2 inch slow poke was at the top of mock drafts, now, hes more than likely to be on the board when the Dolphins have their first pick. So this begs the question, do we pick this guy up?

NFL.com has this to say: Prototype size and athleticism for the inside linebacker position. ... Reads the action quickly and gets in position to make the play. ... Instinctive and rarely out of position. ... Uses his hands well to meet, greet and discard blockers. ... Best attribute might be his open-field tackling. ... Form tackler who can generate explosiveness with his hits. ... Rare instincts and underrated athleticism for coverage. ... Gets good depth on his drops and has good straight-line speed and lateral agility. ... Baits the quarterback and can break on the ball. ... Soft hands for the interception.

Negatives: Needs to continue to add strength, especially in his upper body. ... Relies on his athleticism and good technique to defeat blocks and can struggle to disengage. ... Consistent and reliable, but rarely made the game-changing play over his career. ... Experienced and productive blitzer, but doesn't show a variety of pass rush moves, relying more on athleticism, hustle and instincts.

While inside linebacker isnt our most pressing need, this man mountain of awesomness amassed 366 career tackles. In my opinion, forget the measurables, if you can play football, you can play football. Measurables only mean so much, just ask the New York Jets and Vernon Leaf...... I mean Gholston

Shawn Murphy and Such....

First comes first, what happened to our fourth round pick, Shawn Murphy. Draft day we traded lorenzo booker to obtain him, and now he is inactive every week. We continually sign new guards to take his place, instead of giving him a chance. Is is really that bad? In some ways this reminds of how Cam Cameron treated Jason Allen. Allen had to wait until 3rd string type safeties got injured (think cameron worrell) before he was offered a chance to play. While he did give up the occasional deep pass, I do recall a game in which he had 2 interceptions which flashed a small amount of his potential.

Just out of curiosity, did anyone happen to read the ESPN article about revolutionizing the NFL offenses. In case you missed it, heres the link ,ESPN Article. These hybrid type offenses have already shown they can give an inferior team an advatage over a physically dominating team. With that being said, if a guy like Tim Tebow is available in lets say, the 3rd or 4th round, is he worth a shot. Imagine running the wildcat offense, but with a running back who is a very good passer (Tebow). The possibilities are endless.

Well it was nice to post again guys, and I look forward to hearing some thoughts on the topics above.

High School Football

While the Dolphins lost this weekend, i found comfort in the fact that the high school team i play for defeated our opponent 44-6. I personally rushed for 66 yards on 7 carries, had 4 solo tackles, and one saftey. Were on our way to the 1A Florida State championship road, and I hope you guys can follow along with some of the Broward High School teams. Here is a link to the recap of last week's Broward games. Jesse Chatman Suspended

In more former Dolphins news, Jesse Chatman, one of the feel good stories for the dolphins the last couple of years has been suspended four games for violating the the league's steroid policy. NFL story here. Chatman was released this year and picked up by none other than the Jets, most of you will remember Chatman was out of the league for one year for being a fatty. I had respect for this man, but right now im viewing his accomplishments in a new light.

Dolphins and Brett

This was an article i  stumbled upon on NFL.

Packers GM Ted Thompson had his staff compile a list of potential trade partners not long after Favre's demand for his outright release, reports the Wisconsin State Journal. The teams on that list include the Jets, Ravens, Dolphins and Texans in the AFC and Panthers, Buccaneers, Falcons and Redskins in the NFC, according to the report.

The Future!!!

Well it seems quite clear that the Dolphins are looking toward the future, packaging off vertern players like Chris Chambers and Jason Taylor have put a sick feeling in my gut. The upside is that it looks like we will have another high selecting point in the draft next year and a good amount of picks to get quality players to fill our (still) glaring weaknessess. So assuming that our roster remains the same and one of our three Quaterbacks does somthing positive I look to see some of these players in a Miami Dolphins uniform come 2009.

Injury leads to trade talk

Apparently Phillip Daniels of the Redskins has been injured and the Redskins are now interested in acquiring Jason Taylor. Since they are in a bind they are in no position to hardball the Dolphins, and could give up as much as a 2nd round pick. However the story is being reported by ESPN and could be complete B/S. However I will let you guys decide, the link is here ESPN Article GO DAN UGGLA AND THE FLORIDA MARLINS (needed a few more words)

Our "Needy" Spots

In my mind there is no way that the 2008 Miami Dolphins' roster is set. With that being said i do not want this year to be a complete rebuilding year where we simply play our young and inexpierenced guys to attempt to make them better football players; and with some decent players still available (or going to be made avalible) some moves are probably going to be made.

Vic Carruci

This is just a interesting video from NFL.com, it doesnt say a whole lot that we dont already know but is still worth watching none the less. Vic Carruci Interview. It basically states that the Big Three dont know yet who the leaders are going to be and also says that Quentin Moses and Charlie Anderson are doing a decent job in Jason Taylor's abscense. That makes me feel mildly better but i still wouldnt replace jason with either of them. There is also a clip of Ricky Williams getting a handoff and he looks pretty crisp and fast to me. Give the video a look.
