When McDaniels was walking past the Chargers' linebackers before the game, he supposedly said, "We own you." And that didn't sit very well with the folks in San Diego, as you can imagine.

Outside linebacker Shaun Phillips(notes) told the paper, "I'm not surprised. He's a little cocky (rear end)... To say he owns us? I mean, you beat us one time. What has he really done in this league? He had a team 6-0 and now he's looking up at us from second place."

After the game, McDaniels had the response of a six-year-old when asked about the incident: "(They) talked to me first."

thigpen better than cassel...?

4. Matt Cassel will be a bust. I'll start off by saying I was absolutely stunned this offseason when Josh McDaniels thought it was worth trying to get Cassel in Denver. No way would I take Cassel over Jay Cutler...and I'm not sure Cassel is better than Tyler Thigpen. When Brady was lost for the season in Week 1 last year, not much about the New England offense was different from the record-setting attack of '07. In 15 subsequent starts, Cassel had three monster games -- and eight games with fewer than 220 yards passing. My guess is that Thigpen could have put up bigger and better numbers in that Patriots offense last season after Brady went down. Now consider this: If it were Thigpen backing up Brady last year and then he was traded to a rebuilding Kansas City team that jettisoned its top target in Tony Gonzalez, would you look at him as a fantasy factor? Not me. So why even touch Cassel?

http://www.nfl.com/fantasy/story?id=09000d5d810a018a&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true

Nice to see people have faith in us, im just happy we havn't gotten rid of Thigpen, I still have hope for the guy, what can i say, i love him, mad crazzzzy man love for Thiggy.

Also this yahoo jack off makes a good point, everyone talks about how well Cassel ran the Patriots offense, i would really like to see how Tyler would do with that group, I'm sure he would have put up even better numbers, and lets not forget that the Pats love to run the spread offense in variations, not as dedicated as the cheifs last year but god damn, thats all they do, they have no running attack.

also, if someone could school me on how to just post this as somthing other than fanpost, im sure it doesnt belong here, but i thought it was interesting, and figured a few of you were fantasy players.

Tony is staying, LJ is up in the air

Here is a piece from an article i was reading on NFL.com

"Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said Tuesday at the NFL Annual Meeting that the team will keep veteran tight end Tony Gonzalez, the longtime face of the franchise who was the subject of trade rumors last year. Running back Larry Johnson and offensive lineman Brian Waters reportedly are another story, according to the Kansas City Star, though Hunt told the paper he wasn’t willing to give up on Johnson just yet."

So of course im Happy to see Mr.Gonzalez stay. I love the guy, hes a class act and a real pro, plus it would just be weird to see him any where else in the league. Tony is the kind of reciving tight end that makes young QB's Happy. Just take a look at his numbers from last season, from the time Thigpen took over his production boomed. I mean the mans a stud and hes going to be Cassel's Security Blanket next season. +1 there.

Now, the bigger topic. Larry Johnson. Im split on LJ, torn if you will. We know he can run the ball, we know he can pound it 300 times in one season. What I dont know is if he can clean his act up. Seriously, stay out of the clubs man. With the aquistion of Cassel, we now have the ability to drop the ArrowSpread offense and that gives Larry a chance to run the ball again. He's the type of Back that needs 20+ touches to put up numbers. Also known as a Power Back. he can relieve pressure off of the pass game and we can actully have a balanced offense. Joy. Im sure we will be Passing the ball a huge amount but if you think about it, the first 8 games or so were going to need to be able to run the ball and have defenses respect it.

So In my own opinion, I say Keep LJ for better or worse teams still have to respect what he's done on the field, and if he can come out running the first half of the season its going to be a lot easier on our passing game.

but.....i did trade LJ for a 1st and 2d round draft pick to Detroit in Madden '09...who knows.

NOW,

TALK TO ME PEOPLE!
