Jeff Garcia?

I just read this on si.com in Michael Lombardi's post:  "I really believe Griese will remain the starter for the rest of the season. The Bucs have made several calls letting teams know Garcia is available for trade."

I know Garcia doesn't fit into the "youth movement" we are currently enjoying, but wouldn't he fit with this team?  I can see our young offensive players really blossoming with this (former) pro bowl caliber quarterback.  Imagine what our receivers could do knowing that there is proved QB in the pocket.

I think that in a few years when Garcia is ready to retire, the rest of the offense will be at their peak - thus making the transition to a young QB easier.

Future Plans for GM?

Hello everyone - this is my first post.

I have been reading about what the future might hold for Carl Peterson and the position of GM for the Chiefs.  Everyone seems to be saying that either Carl will be out after this year, or somehow hold on until his contract expires.

What about this scenario?  After this year, Mr. Hunt decides to split Carl's position back into seperate responsibilities.  A President, a GM, and a CEO.

Seems like Carl has done a good job on getting the front office out of the 1980's doldrums, but it feels like his time as a GM has run its course.  I could see where he stays on as President (or CEO) and retires from the GM role.

The discussion on who would be the CEO is intriguing...  promote Herm up, and hire Cowher as Head Coach; bring Marty back as GM, we can go on for hours on that one.

Your thoughts?
