No, not that one!

This one involved the future Mrs. Shelden Williams, Lisa Leslie, and Cheryl Ford. All of whom seem to be without fault based on the video.

So, are the women raising their game, or lowering themselves to the men's game? Yeah, don't respond to the question.

Sorry for the crappy quality of the video, I pulled it off of YouTube. I didn't see the game. It's sad that I don't support the WNBA, I used to play in HS and warmed a juco bench, but while the skill level is increasing, it's just not that interesting to me as an observer. Fun to play? Yes. Fun to watch? Not in my opinion. -But- when I was done playing my only options for watching basketball on television were men's games, so maybe younger women feel differently.

Via SAmick's blog: There's honest and then there's honest. Just wow. At least for me, but hey, I might be biased.

I just want to try and take advantage of all of the resources. As soon as I get back to Sac, I have to go and talk to a doctor and stuff, just try and take advantage of that. Obviously, I know I'm an idiot for putting myself in this situation. Sometimes things have to get really bad before I fix things in my life, and that's (how) it's been my whole life. Telling mom and grandma wasn't a great conversation to have, obviously. It was pretty tough trying to take the high road.

(snip)

It's tough to sleep, you know. And you know, the people who might think I'm a bad guy for this. I'm not a bad guy. I'm still me. It's just one thing I thought would help. It obviously wasn't the right thing to do, but it was helpful to my mental state. I have normal Brad and the when-I-get-on-that-court Brad. (snip) Back in the day, I was worse. It's nothing like it ever was. Obviously, the little one has changed a lot of my philosophies and a lot of the ways I act.

(snip)

The thing is, I don't like drinking anymore. A couple years ago - I'll say it - I drank way too much and didn't like who I was. It wasn't good for my relationship and basketball and everything. I'm just trying to find a way to change out of that, that relief. When all that came in, I haven't done it in years during the season. I just drank and that wasn't a good thing to do. I didn't like that person at all

(snip)

When I make a guarantee, I stick to it. This ain't going to happen. I guarantee everybody that. If you think this makes me a bad person, you don't know me. I've made mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes. I just happen to be in the NBA and everybody sees it. I'm not a bad person. I'm the same person day in and day out, just try to be laid back and be the same person.

I'm not even sure what all he's talking about because Sam's questions don't seem to return on point answers every time. Just um, wow.

Wow.

Just wow. Heartbreaking loss for Memphis. I rooted for them since their NBA team sucks so badly. I wanted a win for the Memphis fans who love basketball. The fans deserved the win.

Congrats to Kansas though, they ground out a tough win in overtime.

Which players proved themselves in the tournament? Which ones choked?

Did Derrick Rose live up to your expectations? Is Super Mario NBA ready?

WTH does MOP mean? Seriously. I'm almost as confused by this as I am by the Peaches banging a stewardess question posed by rbiegler and section214.

signed,
-Clueless as usual.

So, I was thinking. Maybe not enough, but here goes. It's a first diary, so it will probably suck hard. Sorry.

Every time the fans got excited in the past? Did we get excited because of the bench potential or did we get excited based on the team's marketing genius?

We had the Chalupa Squad and the Bench Mob. God, I can't even remember the rest of them. And, I am fairly certain there were others. Anyone remember their names? Chime in.

The Kings marketing team doesn't seem to be hitting the fans where they want to be tickled, so what does this team need to do to get us to the games?

As long time Kings fans know, we've supported this team by showing up in the Arena for countless (OK, they're countable) years, but this year the numbers are thinner than last year.

This is an exciting, hard-working team. Why aren't we there? Too expensive, or not exciting enough?

Is there anything the Maloof's or their marketing team can provide that would put your butt into a paid seat?

I was talking to a friend the other day and he had been a season ticket holder for 20+ years, in the lower bowl and the upper bowl. But, he gave all of his seats up this year.

I asked him, WHY?? His response was that the team wasn't that good and he'd had trouble getting rid of tickets he couldn't use for two years, and he could buy tickets to the games he could attend.

In his defense, he and his wife are ridiculously busy and can't commit 41+ days per year to this team. In the past I have been a recipient of that inability. (I **-ing miss having that connection).

Who gets rid of season tickets?? That was completely unheard of in the past, but I could see his point. I am certain there are many others like him.

So, what can the Kings marketing department do to help salvage this team? Alternatively, what are they doing to turn you off to buying tickets?

Jeebus, I sound like a Maloof clone but I'm not. I'm simply curious about what drove fans away (losing record, inability to resell tickets) and what could bring them back. Or at least make the season more fun for the occassional "in person" fan.

Is there anything that would draw you to come more than once (or at least make the marketing department feel better about themselves?)

I'd have to say my answer would be price. It's just too freakin' expensive to go see them more than once or twice per year at the current prices. They can say what they want about $5 and $10 SRO prices but if I have to pay $50 for a sandwich and two beers, I'm prolly going to watch at home, especially if I'd rather sit in LL. Either way, it's (a chance) at SR0 + $50, or my preferred seating at $200+ per seat including something to eat/drink.

What would you do to drive more fans into the arena?

What fan appreciation would you show to in-arena fans (chalupas!)?

This team has so much heart, but I still haven't bought the tickets to see them live. I know there are more diehard fans out there like me.

What will it take to get us into the arena?

We live and die by this team, but what the Hell does it take to get our butts into the seats? And, what can their marketing department do to encourage us to do so?
