Well we would actually gain $3.5mil but we would have to pay the player we drafted. I doubt they would sign anyone because of the cost for anyone good.

The dead money usually comes from a bonus you paid in the beginning and anything else you guaranteed when they signed.

The big push to sign young receivers is because they are cheap at this point and Andy can try to coach them up...
