Meet the Blazers

4

"The Portland offense features a core group of performers who band together to produce a unified value worth far more than the sum of their individual parts. The Blazers remain one of the only teams left in the league to feature five starting players who clearly fit the old Wooden taxonomy of basketball positions. As a result, the team plays with a seamless flow and intelligent spacing. They consistently create shots for one another, in turn making each other look and play better. The five starters blend together to create perhaps the most balanced offensive attack in the NBA."

[OT] Junk Drawer: Who is your "other" NBA team?

Who is your "other" NBA team? Come on, everyone has one. It's ok. Which team excites you when they're on TV because you love watching them?

ESPN's Chad Ford has Blazers taking Steven Adams in his final Mock Draft 7.0.

1

From Ford: "Analysis: The Blazers are hoping McCollum or Caldwell-Pope are on the board. But if they aren't? It will come down to Trey Burke, Steven Adams and Cody Zeller. It's a tough three-way race, but I give the edge to Adams. Given his size, Burke might struggle to play in the same backcourt as Damian Lillard. On the surface Adams might look a lot like last year's pick Meyers Leonard, but the Blazers could use more bigs, and Adams wowed them in workouts."

Blazers Pre-Draft Workout 6/19/13

1

The Portland Trail Blazers worked out six players at the team's practice facility today: Myck Kabonbgo, PG, Texas; Phil Pressey, PG, Mizzou; Archie Goodwin, SG, Kentucky; EJ Singler, G-F, Oregon; Mason Plumlee, PF-C, Duke; and Dewayne Dedmon, C, USC.

Why the Blazers won't trade for the Mavs' pick at #13.

6

From HoopsWorld's Alex Kennedy: "The rumors about the Dallas Mavericks wanting to trade the 13th pick are accurate. Dallas doesn't want to pay guaranteed money to a lottery pick and they’d love to package Shawn Marion with the pick because they are hoping to be active in free agency this summer." If the Mavs are firm in their price of Shawn Marion for the 13th pick, that would obliterate the Blazers' cap space this summer (Marion and the 13th pick would be a cap hit of $10.9 mil), which makes the idea of this move DOA.
