As to the past, too diverse and interesting to even give the abridged version. The even shorter version is: High school grad 1966, drafted by the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers, Ohio State scholarship, Lake Placid Jr Olympics, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Detroit Red Wing training camp and many friends and interesting people along the way.
Now, just a retired 60 yr old sports fan overwhelmed by this new technology but still trying to be a participant, even if leery of hitting the wrong button!
BTW....what's a "signature" and is it wise to post a "Public Email"?

I'm new to this site so I would like to know if I'm out of line in wondering if clicking on to FanPost should guarantee me an UPDATED, or near CURRENT news? I'm supposed to be interested in responding to comments that are 3 weeks old? What's with that? Makes your site seem real amateurish. I would hit " Publish " right now if I was sure of the required minimum word quota? What the hell is THAT?
NHL ( inept ) officiating
What's with these ridiculous calls against Thomas Holmstrom? Does the screwed up, Bettman run, NHL ever scrutinize and discipline incompetent officiating? With all these phantom calls in today's NHL, players like Holmstrom make "baby boomer fans" long for the days of the 70's, when hockey was a MAN'S game....not this sissified and ruinous, no check, cycling game of today where composite sticks that break when touched are automatic slashing penalties. Why is it a penalty when one knocks the stick out of the other players hands? Shit, it should be a penalty on the guy who can't hold on to his stick! ....Go back and watch the NHL of the 70's when refs used to talk to the players and warn them before calling anything, and every penalty wasn't " hooking " ! This is what happens when the NHL commissioner is a guy who has NEVER put on a pair of skates, or played in a game of shinny on the lake. In spite of the entertaining Olympics and it's TV ratings, I, personally, long for the NHL of " OLD". And am quite aware of the subjectivity of this rant.
NHL trade deadline
To Ken Holland, RedWing GM.....Trade Bertuzzi to Phoenix for Kevin Porter. Porter is the Hobey Baker winner from Michigan who is getting a raw deal from Phoenix. Gretzky thought he had great potential but new management prefers veterans ( a losing cycle ), which they will realize after a quick exit from the playoffs.
Apparently I need more words to be published so I'll just ramble on and hope Ken Holland sees this. What happened to being concise and to the point? Why 75 words? Of which 45 are just embellishment. This site sucks.
