I created a post recently supporting the signing of Antrele Rolle but obviously after the signing of Dansby, his price tag was a bit too much. What I am now wondering is why there has been no discussion of the signing of Marlin Jackson?

Jackson is restricted free agent that was not been tendered by the Colts so I believe that means the colts are only in position to match an offer and not get any draft picks. He is only 26, and although his natural position is CB, he has played solidly at both free and strong safety. Jackson was a first round pick and has been a bit of a disappointment for the colts (286 tackles, and 4 pics in 5 seasons), but he is a solid tackler and could fill the void at FS while Chris Clemons continues to develop. I believe the dolphins need to use early draft picks to fill the voids at WR(DEZ) and NT because the resources through the draft outweigh those in free agency.

It should definitely be considered that Marlin is coming off torn ACL surgery, but with his young age, he should be able to heal up nicely. Any thoughts?

It has been confirmed by Adam Shefter that The Cardinals will release antrel Rolle and let him test the free agent market. I personally think the Dolphins need  to make him a significant offer for the young and talented Free Safety. It sounds like Gibril Wilson will stay in Miami this season, but with a pro bowler in just his 5th year like Rolle available, you have to think the dolphins are interested. I am on the Karlos Dansby bandwagon as well, but wouldn't Antrel Rolle at FS and Rolando Mcclain at MLB be beautiful? It would be borderline insane if Eric Berry fell to the 12th pick and after him the FS's in the 2010 draft class dont look all that attractive. It just make sense to address both problems right now while these young talented players are available.

Anybody else on the Antrel Rolle bandwagon?
