K Dave Rayner Signs With The Buffalo Bills
I doubt many people care about this so it seemed like a perfect FanShot.
Look Out For Cherilus (And I Hate Jared Allen)
After being benched, I would not be surprised to see Gosder play like an animal next week. He seems like the kind of guy who would respond well to being disciplined. On top of that, Gos already has an open beef with Jared Allen after a history of cheap shots/smack talk between the two. I've been excited to see the two play ever since last years game at the HumphreyDome.
Let's just say the Lions-Vikings rivalry is going to have a lot more meaning for me going into the future. said Jared Allen regarding his feud with Cherilus.
"I think Peterman hates me more now," said Allen. Which is fine with Allen, he said, because the Vikings' defensive line has one another's backs. "We're a tight group, especially on this D-line," he said. "People aren't going to mess with us."
Jared Allen is a hypocritical, shit-talking doucher. He's the only person I can remember seeing Jeff Backus get into a fight with, which says a lot to me. Hopefully the whole line will use this as motivation to play better and not let Allen get in their heads (We don't need stupid hits after the play is over). I want to see the o-line put on a clinic against this aging/depleted vikings d-line.
Gerald McCoy's opinion on Gerald McCoy
Gerald McCoy recently joined ESPN's Dan Patrick on his radio show. When asked to explain why he is better than Ndamukong Suh, he had this to say:
I think that my first step is faster and I am a little bit more of a speed guy and more of a pass rusher. Whereas he is just like a brute strength, run stopping guy… I am just more of an explosive guy. He just clogs holes and he gives you what you need.
I guess you could say that, despite the two tackles' even 40 times and Suh's huge 35.5" vertical leap.
When asked what message he would like to convey to the teams considering drafting him, he said:
I am going to give you everything that I have got. I am going to give you one hundred percent of everything that I have. If I am not at one hundred that day, I am going to give you one hundred of where I am at. I am going to study the game. I want to learn. I have no problem learning. I have no problem sitting behind somebody until I get it right because I want to be at my best. If I am not at my best, don’t put me out there until I am and that is what I am going to give you. I am going to come in and I am going to produce and that is what I plan to do. You are going to get what you see is what you get. If you have seen this on film that is what I am bringing. I am not going to change that just because you paid me a little bit of money. I am coming as hard as I can.
I know a lot of people on this site are opposed to drafting him (as am I), but the guy does have a good attitude. I especially liked the line "I am not going to change that just because you paid me a little bit of money."
DT Fred Robbins signing with St. Louis
I'm not sure if it's official yet, but former New York Giants DT Fred Robbins is going to St. Louis to once again play for Steve Spagnuolo. Although he is getting old, he is a potential starter and bolsters the Rams' already solid defensive tackle corps. I feel this move lowers the likelihood of the Rams taking a Defensive Tackle first overall, which is good news for the Lions, because if a QB is taken first, then Detroit can have whichever player it wants.
