This time, however, he is completely justified. Link here. I have lost quite a bit of respect for Sweet Lou.

You call a fragile-minded and hot-tempered player a piece of shit, and this is exactly what you're going to get. You asked for this response Lou and now have created a larger divide in the clubhouse. If his teammates agree with Lou, then MB will indeed be on that island he spoke of. I would imagine, however, that many teammates might question any manager calling a member of the team "A piece of shit." One might have thought Bradley's attitude was already deplorable...what will it be now that his own manager has called him out and condemned him after watching many of his teammates do similar things while Lou shrugs it off. It's on you now Lou. Rectify this situation.

ESPN link here. Perry becomes the first scapegoat of the season and AAA Iowa hitting coach Von Joshua gets the nod. Not much of a surprise, as many on this site saw this coming.

I know very little about Von Joshua, but if he has anything to do with Fox's AAA numbers, he can't be too bad.

So, what's everyone think about this move? I'm all for a little shakeup at this point.

OT: Game 7 Thread

Apologies to all who ignore the NBA, but this game merits its own thread. This has got to be one of the most thrilling first-round series in the history of the NBA…my favorite since the Suns were down 3-1 to the Lakers after Kobe’s buzzer beater in game 4. Raja Bell then decked Kobe in game 5, and the Suns eventually won in 7 after a strange game where Kobe quit on his team. Also earning mention is the Warriors stunning upset of the Mavericks two years ago. And finger-wagging Dikembe knocking out the Sonics in 1994.

Anyway, back to the game. Fighting and tension is the natural result when teams and players meet head-to-head so many times in a row, and that is certainly apparent in this series. Bulls fans are screaming for a Rondo suspension while Celtics fans are screaming at Noah because, well, he’s just incredibly obnoxious if he’s not on your team. Keep in mind that Rondo getting mixed up a few times has really hurt his mental game. Some players can’t set aside emotion, and to me, Rondo has gotten too caught up in these skirmishes and it led to his worst game of the series in game 6. Suspension or not, Rondo fighting actually helped the Celtics out.

I think Allen continues his hot streak, making one key to the game keeping Pierce out of his comfort zone. A rejuvenated John Salmons really was the difference in game 6 and the Bulls need his consistency, especially if Gordon doesn’t find his groove.

An even bigger key to the game? The Bulls bench. Let’s just say when Brian Scalabrine is logging major minutes in a playoff game for you…well, it’s not a good sign. If Miller and Hinrich contribute like they did in game 6, the Bulls should hold the advantage.

My pick? Look back to last year’s Celtics run. Their first 3 series went 7 games; they’re battle tested and I expect them to advance by 5-8 points. Nothing, however, surprises me about these Bulls. Win or lose, the future looks bright in Chicago. I'm cheering for the Bulls to pull it off, but either way I hope Game 7 lives up to the rest of the series.

If only they would have drafted Beasley like I thought they should…(sarcasm)

Interesting read on the series from BS here.

Here's a little OTL update on the 2 Indian players signed by Pittsburgh. Hit 91 on the radar and actually look to have potential. This was brought up on BCB originally as an insult to the Pirates, but it looks like they might be tapping a new scouting market.

I understand the whole cart-before-the-horse sentiment, but unfortunately travel plans are not made or broken with the same ease as a Cubs season. Therefore I have already begun looking at airline flights into Chicago for the October 25-27th weekend. Being a college student (poverty implied), I'm rather afraid of exorbitant airline prices if I wait into the playoffs, especially if waiting until the NLCS is clinched. However, as a Cubs fan, I'm more terrified of not being able to experience a possible World Series appearance firsthand. A round-trip ticket to Chicago is only $140.00 as of right now, which is well inside my budget.

Question1: Are any other out-of-towners planning on visiting Chicago in the playoffs, and assuming there are, what might your plans be?

Question 2: Will airline prices be affected by the Cubs reaching a WS? I realize buying an airline ticket will naturally cost more the closer to one's desired date, but will it cost even more due to the attraction?

Question 3: Is it worth the gamble to invest in travel accomodations when one bad series or streak could end it all?

Not only am I worried about pricing, but in order to miss Thursday, Friday, and possibly Monday classes, I must schedule an exam to be taken earlier and also complete a couple assignments ahead of time. So I'd be quite stuck if I delayed for too long on my plans.

Input? Advice? FanPost Police? Theriot sucks/doesn't suck?
