Bring On The Cats Ode to a Memory

Ode to a Memory

They stood, mighty and proud, helmets held high to the roar of the crowd.

A nation in awe, championships for the taking, all bowed down to the almight N.

They were part of the Eight, but were so far above, that like ants they stomped them with unwavering zeal.

The Eight became Twelve, but it seemed not to matter.  Crush them they would or so it was thought.

History and Tradition, oh how they chanted, we are the best, claimed the soon to be disenchanted.

Team after team, like armies they clashed, vanquised or not, the hordes came year after year.

It soon proved too much, as the big N toppled and fell, laying in flames in some private Hell.

Sad as it was, a Red Nation gone, all that which was trampled to gore.

Desperate and hopeful they turned to a man, ripe with emotion, vulgar and hostile.

His name was Bo, if they only knew, preaching salvation we have defense to do.

From ashes to ashes, from dust to dust, the ending the same, only hear the man cuss.

Venom and fury could last only so long, just like this poor poem, it was time to end.

Bring On The Cats Thoughts after KU Thrashing

In times when there is little to find happiness about, there are bright spost in the gloom.  Three losses to KU, I echo, hard to retain a job that way.  Is it coaching?  Well, they don't throw interceptions or fumble.  But they do put  their teams in positions to win, or at least appear so.

This game was over in the first quarter, everything after that mattered little.  KU played well, my hats off to them.  I would like to wish them success in the future, this year, next, I'll bad mouth them again.  But for now, more power to them.

Offensive Line..OUCH  Did not know we were as banged up as bad as we were.  I thought we had depth, which we might, but man, I feel for you guys in the trenches.  Patchwork as it was, the second half looked better, but not much.  More time on the field practicing less in the film room might be advised, but at least I did not see quit in them, which is at least a positive.

Defense...ICK  I know there are players that are tired of the negative outcry from the fans on poor results.  I also know the Offensive turnovers have placed you often in bad positions and sometimes you have risen to the occasion.  But to let a player run for over 100 yards in the 1st quarter is horrid.  I hear we are light, undersized and all that type of excuses.  Banks is laying hits and he is the smallest man on the team.    If he can do it, you need to find a means to as well.

Special teams:  Still looks fine, keep up the great work.  I am proud of your efforts.

Overall: Out played, coached and desired on almost all aspects.  Trying is not the same as doing.  I often wonder just how many x-football (HS) are on our campus and why they fail to approach HCRP and say, HOW CAN I HELP?  No pride in your University?  Your already paying for the time there, might as well make a difference in the time being.  Season is not over.  There is still time.
