via nhlrumor on twitter... "Horcoff, 4th round pick to Florida for Olesz, Shore. Something along the lines of those two."

Center Shawn Horcoff from the Oilers and a draft pick for Rusty "Empty Net" Olesz and prospect Drew Shore.  Interesting if nothing else.  Horcoff is a 20 goal - 50 point a year kinda guy, just like everyone else on our team.  I don't really see this as an immediate improvement, and Horcoff's contract is just as bad if not worse than Olesz's.  Then again, I guess any kind of move by this front office has to be taken as a sign that they won't be happy with a "good effort" that finishes in 9th place again.

I can't think of a better reason to make my first FanPost than this.

The University of Alaska-Fairbanks hockey team's video intro: if you haven't seen it, it's simply unbelievable.  And awesome.  Hilarious.  If only someone in the Panthers system had this kind of creativity, I can't imagine the team ever coming out flat in the first 10 minutes.  

How can you not be amped up by a giant polar bear sinking some poor research vessel, probably there scouting a drill site for Alaskan oil, blowing up the world with a striking resemblance to the Death Star, and flying through a worm hole, only to return to home ice to destroy whatever puny mortals are on the ice with them?  Enjoy!
