SCH Best/Worst of 2009-10
As promised (though a bit late), here's our SCH categories to vote on. I'm initially giving us 3 nominees per category (to save me time), but we can always add more.

Hawks Best/Worst of the 2009-10 Season
Ok, people, we have lots of Best and Worst ideas to vote on. Only problem is, I've discovered that SB Nation only allows 1 poll per fanpost. So I think I'll look into doing a Survey Monkey or other free survey once we decide on our nominees. But we need to get our nominees first - I'm going to leave space for 5 in each category, but we can do more/less if necessary. HOF = Hall of Fame, or playoff nominees
Alright, now the categories after the jump...

3rd Annual Hawks Convention
Is anyone planning to attend the convention? I'm planning to go with my step-dad and sister and thought maybe some of us could meet up at some point for a drink or something and say hello.
I went last year and had a really nice time. I thought the forums were the best part. The Hawks haven't released many details yet, but I know they've changed the autograph session specifics a bit, which I think is a good thing, considering how awful it was last year. (If you weren't there, the lines were RIDICULOUS and very poorly managed.)
Here's what I've found on the Hawks' site so far (yay for copy and paste):
Convention Details
3rd Annual Blackhawks Convention
Friday, July 30 - Sunday, August 1, 2010
720 South Michigan Ave, Chicago IL 60605
Friday, July 30
3 pm-9 pm
*Event Registration opens at 12 pm on Friday, July 30
*Opening Ceremonies: 5 pm
Saturday, July 31
9 am-7 pm
*Blackhawks Bash: 7-10pm
Sunday, August 1
9 am-2 pm
Autograph Information
(I didn't include the hotel guest autograph info - you can find that here.
SCRATCH AND WIN Autograph Stage
Every Convention attendee will be given a Scratch and Win card at event registration in the Northeast Hall. If you are a lucky winner, visit the Scratch and Win booth located outside the Northeast Hall to find out which autograph time you have WON! All Scratch and Win Autographs will be located on Stage 5 in the Southwest Hall. The player assigned to each autograph session will be posted 20 minutes prior to the designated signing time.
Scratch and Win Rules & Regulations
- You MUST have a winning ticket from the SCRATCH AND WIN table (located outside of the Northeast Exhibit Hall in the Lower Level ) to enter the SCRATCH AND WIN autograph line.
- Each Scratch and Win card guarantees (1) autograph only.
- Each SCRATCH AND WIN Session will be assigned at the SCRATCH AND WIN TABLE.
- Scratch & Win winners are encouraged to lineup 20 minutes before their designated signing time.
- If you have any questions, feel free to visit the information booth located in the Lower Level Lobby.
General Autographs – Southeast Hall
**NEW THIS YEAR!**
Through the convention weekend, there are four autograph stages setup in the Southeast Hall. Stages 1 through 4 are open to all convention attendees. Exact players and locations will be posted in the Convention program that will be available at event check in at the Northeast Hall.
Rules & Regulations
To enable the greatest number of Convention attendees the opportunity to obtain an autograph, the Blackhawks have implemented an autograph wristband policy.
**NEW THIS YEAR!**
- Fans can obtain wristbands for their designated autograph session in the Southeast Hall.
- A different color wristband will be utilized for each autograph session in the Southeast Hall.
- Fans must have the correct color wristband in order to access the appropriate autograph session
- The number of wristbands distributed for each autograph session will correspond with the number of autographs listed in the program.
- Wristband distribution for future autograph sessions will begin when the line for the previous autograph signing has started.
- Once an attendee receives a wristband, they may not obtain another wristband for an additional autograph session until they have received an autograph from their current signee and a Blackhawks representative has removed their wristband.
- Fans are not permitted to have more than one wristband at one time; those found with more than one wristband at one time will lose all autograph privileges and all wristbands will be removed by a Blackhawks representative. Line Jumping and transferring of wristbands will result in losing all autograph privileges.
So, let me know if anyone's interested in meeting up at some point!
July 3rd BBQ
Since my fanpost fell off the main page (damn you all for being funny/interesting!), I'm just doing this quick fanshot with my address: 1901 W Madison. If you're a serial killer, be forewarned I have a ferocious, man-eating dog who wants to have you for dinner.
See you all there, anytime after 3pm!
SCH/4th of July BBQ/Meet up/Nerdfest/Cupcake Tasting
To celebrate this amazing season and meet some more of the great people on this site (oh yeah, and celebrate our nation's birth), I've decided to host a bbq at my house on July 3rd. If you've somehow missed me rambling on and on about it (lucky you), my sister and I recently bought a 2 flat, so I'll have both apartments open as well as our yard to use.
I'm also the proud owner of the Star Wars, LotR, and Indiana Jones series, among others, so we can have simultaneous nerdfests going on the TVs. And, since no SCH meet up is complete without a Hawks game, I've also got Game 6 on DVD as well as the WCF clincher if talking hockey is just not enough and we want to relive it. If anyone has other games, we can put those on, too. Maybe we can get BigC's videos on DVD? Hint, hint, BigC.
AND! I want to do the Cupcake Competition if others are interested. So we can figure that out in the comments.
Anyway, some pertinent info:
Who: Anyone!
When: July 3rd; time is flexible - I'm thinking 3ish until I die of exhaustion and kick you all out. Come for the whole time or just stop in for a quick hello and a cupcake.
Where: My place is right off Belmont and Pulaski; because of the creepy spammer/troll/serial killer people who invade sites like this, I'd rather not list the address here. If you email me at Katherine215 @ yahoo, I'm happy to give it to you (sorry for the inconvenience). It's about 6 blocks from the Belmont Blue Line stop and the Kennedy, as well as a mile from a Metra stop. I have no idea which line or what the stop is called, so maybe ahnfire and/or meeshak can supply that.
Why: Because I said so! And it'll be fun. I hope.
Other: I will have food and some beverages, but I just ask that you bring whatever you want to drink, too. Everyone seems to have a different favorite beer, and I will go broke and crazy trying to figure that out. I will definitely have smores, also. I would kill for a smore right now.
Anyway, I hope a lot of you can make it! I'm excited to celebrate a fantastic season and finding this site. And I'm sure free agency will give us plenty to talk about, too.

Game 6 Watch - Updated
**UPDATED**
It appears a group of us will be meeting at the Wild Goose for the game tonight. The address is 4265 N Lincoln. It's very close to the Montrose stop on the Brown Line. Their site says they have 1/2lb burgers for $2.99 and $4 Spaten tonight. I will be driving south after the game and can drop people, and puppet will be driving south as well, and then to the western burbs area. Hope to see you there!
***
Since it is more fun to celebrate with friends (and as someone else said, I can't overturn my car myself), is anyone interested in a meetup? Choices for locations in the city include the usual suspects, The Bottom Lounge and Whirlaway, as well as the Wild Goose at Montrose and Lincoln. Other suggestions are welcome. I'm just providing a venue for discussion since the recap thread is getting unwieldy. Anyway. One more win. Let's Go Hawks!
SCF Game 1 Meet-up?
Anyone interested in a Game 1 meet up this Saturday? Game time is 7pm CST. I'm suggesting we do the Bottom Lounge again (1375 W Lake) since most of us are familiar with it and we know what we're going to get. I'm open to other locations though. I just don't want to pick a new place and then have trouble getting seating together or not be able to see/hear the game.
Also, I will bring name tags if someone (ahnfire, I'm looking at you) wants to bring the Sharpies (not #10, though I would be a very happy human if that was the case!). Hope people other than me are interested in this so I don't feel like an ass for making a useless fanpost.
Let's Go Hawks!!
