Dodgers and Rockies pick up some help with trades

Dodgers got Thome and Jon Garland. Rockies got Jose Contreras

The Dodgers traded for Jim Thome and Jon Garland. The Rockies acquired Jose Contreras. This should help both teams. Hopefully, not enough so that we can't get the Wildcard. Contreras has never pitched in the NL, so he may be hard to face for the NL guys.

We called-up Conrad, Luis Valdez, and Clint Sammons. I sure hope Conrad gets some of those pinch-hits that Norton has been getting.

Mike and Mike in the Morning predictions

Mike and Mike did their preseason predictions on the Tennessee Titans this morning. Greeny picked Titans to be 10-6. Mark Schlereth picked Titans to be 11-5. They answered about 5 questions concerning the Titans and what they think will happen with them in the 2009 season. Think defense can be just as good as last year even with loss of Fat Albert. Also they think that Kerry Collins can have just as an efficient year as last year.

Mock Draft guy gave Jimmy an F!

At this point, with all of the players off of the board, Campbell is not a bad pick. Jimmy definitely did not deserve an F.

The other options were in WR's either Devin Thomas or Earl Bennett or a LB(not a position of need) in either Dan Connor or Jerod Mayo. The guy on the site said they have Campbell as the 45th best player in the draft. Now, that is ridiculous.

Was Myers yelling at Willie?

It sure looked to me that Myers was yelling at Willie every time he threw a strike. Then, it looked as if Myers was staring into the Braves dugout after the strikeout. When they showed the Braves dugout, Chipper was watching the Phillies pretty intently.

Now, maybe I am reading something out of nothing...but did something happen this series that would cause bad blood--besides us being division rivals? Perhaps something was said after the way Alfonseca acted after getting our guys out??
