Big Buffalo Bills fan since 1989 during which i enjoyed the golden era, but also the most disheartening time as well... Losing 4 SB's in a row! You just couldn't write it or make it up! Hopefully one day, this great franchise will achieve and deliver what it craves and deserves! Which goes for us fans as well...

Buffalo Rumblings If Clausen is still there at 9 - Then Buddy Nix better pull the trigger!

For me if Jimmy Clausen is still on the board at 9 - When the Bills get to pick. Then they simply cannot refuse the opportunity of getting a QB rated as the 2nd best prospect in the draft after Bradford. Yes we know the Offensive line is paramount as well, but so is the QB position... and if Clausen is still there? Then I think the Bills would be mad to overlook him. He has all the qualities I think this franchise should be looking for - Primarily his leadership qualities, which have been so sorely missing in Buffalo for way too long! I for one will be gutted if they don't take him should he still be there I just don't think they should pass on him when you consider what we've got at Q on the  but I will respect whatever decision they make...

Note; If it is a OL that they take, then I would like it to be Trent Williams & not Bulaga as I feel he has more potential to be a star of the future...

Do you agree with me? That the Bills cannot refuse the offer of taking Jimmy Clausen - should he still be there at 9?

No... As Buddy Nix said; Without an Offensive line protecting the QB, then it's no good you'll just end up being on your backside!

Buffalo Rumblings Is Free Agency over @ OBD...?

Having listened to Buddy Nix talk today, with intrigue... It got me thinking if we would still be looking for more players to further strengthen the Buffalo Bills roster, prior to the NFL Draft? I have added some quotes to highlight meaningful things Nix had to say...

"I still think you build through the draft," Nix said, "but you can't fill every hole, especially if you haven't been very good."

Having heard him say this and more, I was left with a positive feeling that we would add some-more additions... if the right opportunities were to present them-self to us. With holes aplenty still yet to be filled on the team, including QB, LT, NT, OLB, WR, & TE (I think that covers it!) Without sounding impatient or wanting to rush the rebuild, surely it would make a lot of sense if we could add 1 or 2 extra players now via FA, to free our ability to be more creative come draft day? I would like us to see us get a veteran WR, to add depth although Nix did say that this is unlikely.

He said the following below...

"If a veteran came available, obviously we’d look into it,'' he said Monday at the NFL owners meetings. "But that’s not a target.''

What this means is James Hardy and Steve Johnson will get a chance to step up and prove they can be effective complements to top receiver Lee Evans. Neither player saw much of the field in their second year. Hardy, who returned after a knee injury late in his rookie season, spent most of the games on the inactive list.

"We want these guys to step up,'' Nix said. "You need to find out what you’ve got. They all got good potential so we’re going to give them an opportunity.''

To sum up I very am positive on what the future holds under the New Coaching Team of Buddy & co, and I anticipate good things in the future... I am certainly happy with the players we have signed thus far particularly Dwan Edwards & Andra Davis - I just hope we can add a few more players (of the right quality) in FA to compliment them. But what do you guys think? Will we bring in anyone else... and if so who? Or rather who would you like to see arrive @ OBD?

I also wanted to add this quote which I liked, as it was really positive!

"We're looking to build something solid so we can win consistently," Nix said. "We're not just trying to do it this year and then start over every year. Winning consistently is our goal."

Buffalo Rumblings WR HELP!!!

O.k so we all know Buffalo needs a lot of help in numerous positions, none more so than the leader of the team i.e the QB. Whether that will be addressed this season or the next only time will tell... Obviously we also need to bolster our offensive line with the LT position in particular - in desperate need of repair, as well a NT to man the new 3-4 defense. This is crystal clear and these are the positions that my fellow Bills fans have screaming to be addressed asap. However I feel the WR depth is a major concern that has been overlooked somewhat, in particular by the release of a certain player by the name of T.O we currently only have 4 active receivers on the roster, if I am not mistaken? 3 of which are unproven in the NFL, how best do you think this can be addressed? Which players left in Free Agency, if any are worth going for? Who in the draft would you like the Bills to target & in which rounds? Players I like are, Dez Bryant  & Golden Tate, (probable 1st & 2nd Rd picks) but I am not well versed enough to make an informed decision of other players that would fit the bill? (forgive the pun)

I took this little snippet (below) from an article that refreshed in my mind, the serious concern in our WR corps.

• Receiver: The incumbents are Lee Evans, James Hardy, Roscoe Parrish and Steve Johnson. Those are the only receivers on the roster. The free-agent crop was thin this year, and the Bills have not hosted any free-agent wideouts yet. There is good depth in the draft. The Bills figure to be drafting some receivers.

Buffalo Rumblings A Dream of my own... Jahvid Best

O.k so let me start by saying I don't claim to be a Football expert far from it, but what I am however is as passionate as any fan about the Buffalo Bills! A team I have supported back in London (The UK) since those glory days of Kelly, Thomas, Smith & Reed to name but a few... What I would give (like every fan) to see this franchise back where it belongs... Challenging, and one day I pray winning that first and elusive Super Bowl! If any team in the NFL deserves it... then it's Buffalo.

Obviously with the current roster that is a distant dream, but with the new management of Chix or whatever you want to call it, I am confident that they will do all they can to bring the success that has been too long in the memory. At the moment there moves in Free agency have certainly not set us on fire! In terms of excitement or in catching our imagination, however I feel they have shown a willingness to try and get players in - where there are the most glaring holes on the roster. (RT, NT etc) If they can fill in some of those positions, and then some in the coming weeks? Maybe just maybe we won't have to go for all the positions people expect us to go for in the draft i.e.; QB, LT or NT? Most of you will probably say that this is very wishful thinking to say the least... But as the title of this post says, this is a dream of my own... & as fans we can all dream right?

Talking of dreaming anyone who has seen me recently posting on the Buffalo Rumblings, will know I am a massive fan of the running back Jahvid Best and that I have been banging on about him non-stop! Sorry about that, but what I would give to have him here at Buffalo especially if he is fully recovered from his injury nightmares... He would be a lethal weapon on our offensive, a running back speed demon! Who would give us home run - take it to the house ability! Chan Gailey has already stated he is going to want to run the Football? Why not Trade Lynch for a 3rd or a 4th pick, and try and get Best who could well be there in the 2nd Rd? But whom I would even take with the 9th overall pick (call me mad why don't cha!) If we have addressed many of our other desperate needs.

I picked out some quotes from his recent performances @ the combine:

* SI on Best: Extremely quick in drills, never losing momentum when double-cutting. Legitimate downfield threat in pass catching drills

* From SI.com "Draft Risers" - Best was the fastest of the running backs, timing both his forty's in the mid 4.3-second range.... (Faster than C.J!)

* "Cal back Jahvid Best, who crushed a 4.33, which puts him about a stride behind Usain Bolt, two in front of a Porsche?"

Do you agree with me? Would like to see Jahvid Best at the Buffalo Bills?

Buffalo Rumblings Crippling Injuries!

I am by no means an expert when it comes to knowing all about Football, but one thing that is apparent to me is that the Bills finished pretty respectably with 6-10 record - considering there crippling injuries last year. Any team is going to struggle with something like 22 players on IR? I hear a lot of people talking about what the Bills need in terms of new blood, (& I couldn't agree more) however what they need more than anything surely, is fit and healthy players able to play on a regular basis!

With the new coaching set up and in particular the new fitness coaches, hopefully the Bills can identify if there is any kind of pattern which has been so alarming in the last few years and fix it! If they can do this they will go someway to becoming a team that can be taken seriously again... Let's just hope it's sooner rather than later, because this cannot go on any longer.

I have added a Poll below to gauge your thoughts, as to what is behind these (mass) injuries? What is the cause if any?

Buffalo Rumblings T.O Should I stay or should I go?

I'll start by saying I don't know what the general consensus is, amongst Bills fans as to whether or not we should keep Terrell Owens? But I for one would definitely keep him, were I Buddy Nix and coach Chan Gailey. Especially if we get a veteran QB or quality Rookie in the draft, who can utilize his abilities a lot more effectively than was apparent under the previous regime. Plain and simple he is a quality player (which are so few & far between currently @ OBD) and despite being 37 years of age, he definitely has at least one more year left in the tank. Let's also not forget that with more offensive weapons; which Buffalo is going to bring in sooner rather than later, and under a new coach who will be more offensive minded then surely T.O will come good? Added to all this if we keep him we'll have one less thing to worry about, and with an ever growing list of needs surely keeping him makes sense all round.

I think this coming year could be a great one for the Bills, especially if T.O stays... I am certain that he will put up much more respectable numbers - with the right circumstances in place.

Do you agree with me? What are your thoughts...

Buffalo Rumblings Who would you pick as realistic choices via Free Agency?

London, UK Bills fan here and another first poster.... Let me start by saying at this time I am very excited about what the new regime will bring to the table, only time will tell whether this is the start of a brave new dawn in the Bills history, or another disaster? Surely nothing can be as bad as the Dick right? Anyway I am gonna keep this short & sweet and cut to the chase... Who would you like to see the Bills go after, as realistic targets via Free Agency? As many comments as possible would be greatly appreciated :D

GO BILLS!!!
