Man, maybe I just have an old phone (3GS), but the app does not work on my phone. Maybe every 4th time, if I wait long enough, it will load. I added BTB to my home screen and access it that way. Works fine, but the app, when it works, is much easier to read comments, etc.

Anyone else have any information? The app store feedback section is weak, to say the least.

He pulls it off. The real bummer for Garrett is that he's got Kitna. And I like Kitna, as a backup. Just not a multi-game back up. But with this line, in this NFL, that is a MAJOR problem. In my mind, I just picture the last days of Bledsoe. Oh man.

But I think Garrett is absolutely the man. I DONT WANT to spend the offseason dwelling on the freaking COACH. Garrett is bright. He knows the league. He's been there, done that. He's got this. HE CAN HANDLE IT. He needs a chance on his own, in his own year. We should concentrate on becoming more like the Steelers, not hiring their retread coaches. (I think Cowher is overrated. Sorry.)

If its me, I ride Romo. I don't lose for Luck. Romo can pull this off. He's not Manning, but who is. In my opinion, he is every bit a Brees. Look at the QB's who've won SB's. Romo is as good as most of them.

We need free agents on the line, and we need a young hitter and a young cover in the secondary, I ABSOLUTLEY think Jenkins should be GONE after his performance this season. (I hope that I read Garretts presser the same way.) Take the gamble and SEND the message,

He was the highest rated QB in PA for years. Frustrated in PSU system & transferred to Delaware (remember Flacco). He's lighting it up. Kid can throw and is smart.

Does anyone really believe that things will be any different in the coming years, with Jerry running the show?

Why would 2009 be any different from previous years? Are we really that much more talented than the other teams in the NFL? It seems to me that the teams that make it far into the playoffs are built around toughness, great coaching, trouble-free locker rooms, etc.

Seriously, but for the Parcells years, have we felt like we were truly building something special, since Jimmie? I know we felt good last winter, but we were also beaten (again) in our first playoff game.

I know the odds are slim to none, but I think are only chance is for Jerry to step away - permanently. Just for giggles, does anyone else agree?

When these sorts of losses happen, I go into the bunker. That’s how I deal. It’s tough to deal with some of the co-workers, but at least I don’t have to hear the talking heads on ESPN yammering away. I can’t even turn on ESPN on the radio in the truck. I just have it tuned to NPR for the week.

I’m in North Central PA, so I cannot lean on a ton of shoulders these days. Steeler and Eagle fans are everywhere. This site is helping, though. While I don’t go to any of the linked articles and analysis, I find great comfort in reading many of the post and comments from the readers. I especially appreciate the playoff analysis/wild cart hunt posts.

As a side note, I feel bad. In the comments, I noted some guys saying it would be crazy to have rooted for the Eagles. Well, I was rooting for the Eagles to beat the Giants. I really thought we could win the Pittsburgh game, and I just thought that the division was within reach. Personally, I hate the Eagles more than the other teams in the division. Its probably more a function of their fans, but . . .

I expect the Cowboys to play the TO situation close to the chest, but force the Giants to gameplan for a healthy and healed TO. In fact, I'm sure TO dresses and starts, regardless.

Need a monster effort from the run-D and the pass rush.

I was looking for some sort of online petition but could not find one. I'd say Cowboy Nation is big enough that if a boycott of EA sports was threatened, they'd keep Romo off the cover!

The article made me feel pretty good as he reminded us of the quality of personnel and coaching on the Eagles. Our defense did a great job. Had our offense made a few more plays, regardless of how bad things went, we would have won the game. It really is that simple.

My Comcast Gambit

I am not sure how this is going to work out, but here is what I did . . .

I called Comcast and ordered (and will pick up soon) a digital cable box. It is free for two months, with no commitments. The NFL Network is $1.99/month. I can cancel it at anytime. Once I connect the box, I call Comcast, they send a signal, and the NFL Network instantly appears.

Now, I can’t vouch for any of this. I mistrust big corporations as much as they next guy. But I thought it was worth the gamble this time. I could watch the game elsewhere with friends, but they are a mixture of different fans and, frankly, I prefer watching games like this in isolation.

I’ll re-post on the success of this venture. My ultimate plan is to hang onto the box only long enough to catch the Panthers game and then return it. Hopefully, I’m only out $3.98.

I have developed a habit of checking out the opponents blog early in the week to see how what's up, etc. I don't get any blog posts named after me or anything . . .

The NY Landing Strip hasn't had a post since 11/4. Guess you can't blame them. I can't get enough Cowboys news right now. But if the boys were 2-8, not sure I'd be as pumped up.

I'll admit that I didn't start out a big JJ fan, but I had been coming over to his side based on the last few years.

I feel like I can call him boy, as that's about the age level his blog posts seem to be aiming for.

I really can't grasp where he's coming from. I can understand if he's upset that Dallas has a much broader fanbase, which is the case.

There are some teams that appeal to people all over. Notre Dame football. The Yankees. Whatever it is.

For me, I grew up when Roger Staubach was in his prime. How could a young kid not love that team, that quarterback, everything about them.

Sure, I'm from PA -- but I am 3 hours from Philadelphia and 4 hours from Pittsburgh. So I can't run over and hang out with Bleed Green and his buds anyways. And I sure don't get the Inquirer, or the Post-Gazette.

This guys is blogging, so obviously he knows that we get media instantly today, from all over the country, the world, you name it. And using his rationale, what about the lone Eagles fan who moves to Colorado? Does he become a Bronco fan so he can go to the parades? Give me a break.

This blog post is but another classic example of why the Philly sports fan deserves the reputation he's got.

In case you don't have the time to read the post, I'll drop a couple of the quotes here:

And we have fun watching football. There's all kinds of people, all over the world. Too bad Bleed Green can't figure that out.

That aspect of community is what makes football so great.

Enemy Territory

First time diarist, long time reader.

I read lots of stuff out there about Cowboys fans in the middle of "enemy territory". Me, I'm between Steelers nation and Eagles nation. I get more than a healthy dose of each. Thankfully, there seem to always be a few Cowboys fans around, but you get my drift.

I was born into the Staubach era of Cowboys fans. Born in 1970, hit my formative years right when they were crushing the Broncos in the Superbowl, and I never looked back (even during the Switzer years).

The main point of me entering this diary was to get a feel for where you're all from. I'm sitting here now realizing I'll get stuck with the Giants tomorrow. (I've got to spring for Direct TV!) Someday, we'll make a game in Dallas, but mostly, I'll be surviving here in northcentral PA.
