Raised out on the countryside in a little city named Jamestown in the center of North Carolina. Trey was raised as a Redskin fan, until one day he saw news of a new team coming to the NFL, he hadn't really payed much attention to football before this time, so he decided he would pick this team to pull for, to be "His Team" and low and behold, the roller coaster of fandom began... Go Texans!

Battle Red Blog Can the Texans Dodge losing play at punter?

Let us go through this for a moment. The Texans punter Brett Hartmann had (what seems like) a pretty bad leg injury against the Falcons. Which, at that position, is serious business. So one of the Texans viable options is Matt Dodge. I know, I will take the flak for saying he is a serious option, but listen to me for just a second here.

Matt had 72 punts with an average of 44.8 yards in 2010 and Brett (before his injury) is at 53 punts for an average of 43.6 yards.
Matt gets the ball within the twenty 27.8% of the time. Brett is at 28.3%
They also both have a "Long punt" of 69 yards - giggidy.

Is one bad kick in a playoff game really that horrible? So he made a mistake, I'm pretty sure he's the best (young) available option in the FA market right now.

Go ahead and tell me that it is a horrible idea... but it is still better than Matt Turk. I don't care what anyone says.

*Edit* Additional fact. Turk is 43 whereas Dodge is 24.
