Die-hard professional ox-boarding fan. If you don't know what ox boarding is, imagine combining water polo, badminton and hang gliding, and doing the sport on top of an ox. Like, the animal.

Also, I like the Detroit Tigers. A lot.

Tigers/FlashForward connection?

As I mentioned in tonight's (Sept. 24) gamethread, the series premiere of the ABC drama FlashForward ended with a very interesting scene. While reviewing surveillance footage from around the world, the FBI leads uncovered a strange sight: one man walking around amongst the unconscious. Seeing as everyone in the world supposedly passed out at this time, the walking man is a huge deal.

What is a bigger deal is where he was walking. The main female agent only notes that it's "in Detroit", but the place he is in closely resembles our own Comerica Park.

As much as I would like to say that this guy was watching a Tigers game before the blackout, the ballpark did not actually register within me as the actual CoPa from the footage I saw. Something was off. I can't tell you what, but I do not actually think it was our own field. What other MLB ballpark is in Detroit, you ask? Good question. I assume that we will find out by watching the show.

All we have to satiate our questions at the moment is this interview I found with the series creator.

"Crave Online: What’s the significance of the Tigers game?

David S. Goyer: We didn’t say it was Tigers. We said Detroit. You’ll know by the end of the season. "

That really doesn't answer my questions, but it does prove that Detroit has a role.

So for those who have seen it, what do you think? Is one of the more crucial mysteries at the moment based on one man being at a Tigs game? If it isn't Comerica, what do you think this place is? Or am I taking this too far, and the only reason he was at the park was because the alien ship beamed him down there?

Discuss.

Bran-torino Victorious!!!

Thank you to every Phillies phan who voted for Inge, from every Detroit fan. This was a team-up for the ages and both Inge and Victorino are in the All-Star Game! Celebrate!!!

Thank you thank you thank you thank you. We couldn't have done this (we'll maybe we could've) without your help. Detroit, perhaps unknowingly, owes you for the votes you may or may not have given to Brandon Inge. WHOO!!!

Thought I'd point out a new article by Jeff Passan, talking about how good Porcello has been, as well as comparisons to Edwin Jackson's career thus far. It's a pretty fun read.

My favorite quote: "He’s good," Leyland said. "He’s (expletive) real good. I didn’t bring him here because he’s good looking."
