Quotes from the tigerdroppings.com soccer board
Tigerdroppings is an LSU message board with sections ranging from SEC Football to Politics to Recruiting to Saints.
The Soccer board is a nice collection of posters from all over the south, representing a bunch of different SEC teams. Because there is no regional MLS team, most have never been to an MLS game. Most didn't start following MLS until this year. Anyways, here are some quotes that I think show just what the fans in Portland accomplished last night:

a response to the mississippi state cowbell
As you are all aware, Mississippi State's cowbells are one of the most annoying sounds encountered in nature. They give the Bullies an unfair home field advantage (at least when more than 40,000 people show up to their games, like this year). They give opposing fanbases a very literal headache and are hell on away team's offenses when trying to make a comeback drive.
Destroying our traditions.
We are...Ole Miss.
Those are the four words that sum it up best. As an entity, we manage to fuck shit up better than anyone else ever has or ever will. Remember Napoleon at Waterloo? Hitler in the cold winter of Russia? Kennedy at the Bay of Pigs? Saban at Pearl Harbor? Amateurs, every single one. We take failure to a whole new level, and we only have ourselves to blame.
The latest failure for the Ole Miss family wasn't a letdown of a season on the football field. It wasn't an epic, Bianco induced meltdown inside Oxford-University stadium. It wasn't even a failure to protect the soft tissues of our B-ballers knees (or the soft tissues of a Cabbie's face for that matter).
What was it you ask? Let's call it a failure to protect our traditions. I know that one of the owners/contributers of this blog called a moratorium on the subject, but I have to open the wound one more time.
We are destroying our traditions. You, me, us. We are doing this to ourselves. "Well I'm going to exercise my right to free speech by yelling TSWRA", you say. That's totally within your rights as a US citizen. Just like chancellor Jones removing From Dixie With Love from our football games is completely within his powers as chancellor of Ole Miss. When TSWRA rings out from the student section of Vaught-Hemingway stadium this weekend enjoy it. Come next weekend, you'll be sorry. You, me, us, we will be sorry. If TSWRA is a tradition, we'll kill it. While we're at it, we'll kill another tradition. My personal favorite tradition. From Dixie with love will die. You'll blame Dan Jones. It won't be his fault. It will be your fault for not realizing what is truly important. If you want to buck the system this weekend do it. That's your prerogative. If you want to save a tradition do what you can to remind your friends and family of what is truly important. Refuse to fail. Please, Ole Miss. Just once.
Have a great football season, guys.
