FSU was a trendy pick to compete for a national title last season, and by and large it failed to meet expectations. Fisher is a talented offensive coach, but the Seminoles’ porous offensive line and invisible running game have to reflect on him. Then again, the Noles are trendy again, aren’t they? Anything less than an Atlantic Division title in 2012 will be an (yet another) absolute failure for the program.

Much like the Big Ten, the Atlantic Coast Conference had its postseason struggles with only two victories in eight attempts. But fear not fans, with a bevy of talent, several ACC teams should be back in the mix nationally in 2012.

From FSU - Brandon Jenkins and Greg Reid
Nothing mind blowing here, just some crapper material.

Former Florida State quarterback Charlie Ward was back in Central Florida on Sunday, speaking with a group of high school coaches at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes breakfast at the NIKE Coach of the Year Clinic in Orlando.

The 41-year-old currently is the head football coach at Westbury Christian High School in Houston, where he lives with his family

It doesn’t take much to derail a team’s chances at the BCS National Championship. A loss and by most accounts, your chances at a title are done. Two losses and by most rights, your chances for playing in a BCS bowl game are close to none.

With that in mind, we continue our series looking at ten games that could change the face of the BCS this season.

Today we feature: Oklahoma at Florida State

The next generation of great coaching minds can be found on the sidelines of some of college football’s top teams. We wrap up our series looking at ten assistant coaches who are tops in their fields and someday could be head coaches in their own rights.

I thought Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder really threw the football well today and very quietly is having the type of week he needed in order to give a real boost to his draft stock.

OMAHA, Neb. – The Road to Omaha has been filled with plenty of exciting moments and plenty of surprising twists. But now eight teams descend on Rosenblatt Stadium for two weeks for the final College World Series at the old stadium.

The event, of course, moves to a new downtown ballpark next year.

This year’s CWS field is loaded with intriguing storylines.

Arizona State’s Zack MacPhee and Riccio Torrez hope to carry a national title back to Arizona, the UCLA three-headed pitching monster of Gerrit Cole, Trevor Bauer and Rob Rasmussen hope to continue their magical ways. Then there’s Oklahoma, which no one expected to be in Omaha this weekend.

We take an inside look at the best of the bunch for Omaha’s field of eight.

Including:
BEST COACH: Florida State’s Mike Martin

FSU GAME 1 HISTORY...

They haven't won a Game 1 since a 9-2 victory over Miami in 2000. Yep. That's a full decade of starting out each Super Regional series in a hole.

Not only that, but the Seminoles wound up losing six of those seven matchups (2008 against Wichita State being the lone exception). And five of those six series losses came against SEC schools. Not only that, but of the past nine times FSU has been eliminated in the postseason, seven came against an SEC school.

Florida State is loaded with talent, athleticism, and veterans (at least on offense), and now it'll be up to the new head man, Jimbo Fisher, to show he can produce. With a great piece to the puzzle, QB Christian Ponder, healthy again, the sky's the limit.

Article is from the Democrat.
I read this and spit coffee all over the monitor..
"There are so many things that we're doing a poor job of — with bunting being one of them," Martin said Monday afternoon. "We need to work on our bunting, and I wasn't pleased with our base-running. We've got to get a lot of stuff done [Tuesday]."
