At this point...
At this point... How worried should I be about the potential for Paul Allen to sell The Blazers?
Question: How much impact does Oden Situation have....
Not much here, just a simple question born out of the continued struggles The Blazers seem to be having with their GM search.
My Story: A Swirl In The Sky
I’ll never forget the events that lead to my becoming a Blazer Fan. It’s only under hypnosis that most of the events have been revealed. Although more and more flashes are revealing themselves, as the years pass. Myself and a small group of friends had decided to go camping in the forests of the Northwest. The first day, and night passed without incident, the usual consumption of chilled and mass marketed hops based beverages, coupled with fishing and a group camaraderie demonstrated through shared stories.

Nice Guys....
The recent flurry of interviews with Nolan Smith and Jon Diebler I was immediately struck by one reality. They both sounded like very intelligent, high character, "Nice Guys". Buchanan in his press conference interview went out of his way to attach that evaluation to Diebler and Smith. "They are what this franchise is all about". Well I just want to throw one idea out for discussion. Has the pendulum swung too far?

Win Now or When...Now?
I keep hearing about how Paul Allen is in a "Win Now" mode. And I just want to discuss this popular buzz phrase. Are we in a "Win Now" mode..and what does that even mean?

Cho's Amazingly Brief Tenure....
This is big news. The sudden "Parting of Ways" between Rich Cho and The Blazers is obviously going to be discussed and debated. What it means about Paul Allen, what it means about The Blazers, what it means about where the team is, and where it is headed. It's going to be met with the passion and angst that this fanbase always embraces. And deservingly so...BUT.....

Can I Feel Sorry For Myself?
Ughh...Down 2-0 to Dallas. Brandon Roy bomb shelling the media with exclamations of being disappointed and uncomfortable with his role. Well can I feel sorry for myself?

Is it nap time for Barret and RIce?
Just a little pet peeve of mind this season. Barret, Rice, even Wheel and Antonio...and the commentary about team or individual players fatigue. Let me take a swig of my RedBull and continue...
A Snub is a Snub is a Snub....
What do most All-Stars and Superstars have in common? Besides the credentials of "X" number of All-Star appearances? Players have become All-Stars for being great rebounders, dunkers, playmakers, intimidators, any or all combinations of highly honed skills. But a common thread runs through most of them, as diverse as the skill set might actually be. Most All-Stars have All-Star ego's.
Larry Miller: Commited to Bringing A Championship To Portland?
Recently, I have found myself occasionally defending Rich Cho, against those that would lament that he hasn't done "anything". My stance being that he deserves some time at the helm to discover the possibilities. My belief being that operating a N.B.A. franchise is a much more complicated endevour than most fans would care to understand. I still believe this however...

Is Portland Media Hicksville?
No, I'm not talking about Ben or Dave. Whom despite the occasional disagreement, I think do a fantastic job. But the recent struggles of The Blazers and the ensuing reaction of a lot of the Non-Blazer Broadcasting related local media really have me wondering. Is Portland Media Hicksville?

A Big Pile of Icing....
Since it's seemingly innocent inception uttered casually from the lips of Kevin Pritchard, I was never a fan of the whole "Baking a Cake" analogy. Oh it worked, but I got tired of it's over use, and it often being code for "We aren't going to do anything [we must let the cake bake]. So it's with great trepidation and regret tinged with a ridiculous amount of unjustified fear that I admit I awoke today to the idea that.....

A Hindsight Prophecy...Earned vs. Will Earn..
Okay, please bare with me. Let me very BODLY state that I HATE hindsight commentary. I hate the inevitable rash or emergence of "I told you so", "I always knew" or "I would of done it differently" that accompanies situations as their definition becomes a known adversity.
Let me also state and make clear that is NOT what I want to do, and that my admission is thus...At the time as a fan, and as a fan that was aware of Brandon Roys College knee problems, Pro knee problems, heel condition, I wanted Brandon Roy resigned. At the time, I was among the SUPER majority that were clamoring not for caution or thrifty long term economics in the resigning of Brandon Roy, but I was among those that said, "He's our Superstar. Sign Him.". I believed at the time that as a R.O.Y. and multiple time All-Star, if we did not sign Roy to a max contract, he would of been given that contract by another team anxious for a chance to obtain a very rare commodity in the N.B.A., ...a top star player. I thought we had very little choice, and that it was the correct thing to do. But that doesn't mean recent statements by Larry Miller in relationship to The Blazers negotiations don't bother me and here is why.
Lighten Up and Tighten Up!
Man, geesh..what's going on? I wake up today to find 1/2 of the Blazer fanbase calling for the trade of Brandon Roy because he says he wants the ball more. Quite frankly I'm astounded and a little shocked.

Personal Business vs. Public Team Play
Last night on the 5th quarter the hosts (Holton) Primarily, were desperately trying to steer the conversation away from Rudys off court problems and focus on only his game performance.

The Enigmatic Problem Named Greg Oden
Do you remember the day The Blazers drafted Greg Oden? It seems so much longer ago than it really has been. A delirious fanbase with sudden dreams of not only N.B.A. success but potential domination. Face painted fans, coming to cheer the simple announcement, the video feed of the event, and rushing an empty Rose Garden court to simply enjoy the unbearable lightness of being that the announcement that The Blazers had selected Greg Oden with the #1 pick.

Has OKC stolen The Blazers destiny?
I'll admit that maybe this is just depression from the sudden end of a strange season. But I watched the end and post game of game 6 between LA and OKC and I have to admit this feeling and thought hit me...

Season of the Glitch?
I've been a Blazer fan for a long time. And No, I don't think that makes my comments or observations anymore valid than anyone elses. But in all my years of following The Blazers I don't think at seasons end I've ever felt like this.

Odd but this is why...
What I like about sports, is that every season unfolds in it's own unpredictable way. Some of it good, some of it bad. But it's always unpredictable... Odd but this is exactly why I don't pay too much attention to pre-season. So much expectation and strategy get's floated before the season unfolds and ALWAYS you never know what is going to happen. The only sure thing is that things are probably going to happen inwhich you would never think to prepare.
A Bitter, Bitter Pill
I never wanted to write this fanpost. I never wanted to have to say the things I'm about to say. But Blazer fans have a bitter pill to swallow, and like any medicine the quicker we swallow it, the better. This is about Greg Oden.

The Downside of reaching your Upside?
Is it too early for me to start obssesing about "problems" that might develop from The Blazers success? Is this just an interaction between Prilosec and daytime cold medicine? Yes probably but humor me a little if you would...

Ara Vartanian Millsaps' agent. Working for his clients best interest, or hinting at trouble. I leave it to you.
Death of a Pritch Man?
These have become unsettling times for Blazer fans. Unfortunately it seems we have a plurality of messages surrounding The Blazers. Right now at the eye of this summer storm we have Kevin Pritchard.

Just got done reading Jason Quicks assesment of current events in regards to Pritchard and The Blazers this summer. As a fan, I'm shocked and becoming concerned.

Do I get it? Do I NOT get it?
I'd like to pose a few questions, and offer a few opinions. In light of Hedo Tukoglu's sudden "snubbing" of Portland for Toronto. One of the first specters to arise is the phrase " Portland can't attract top notch Free Agents". I've never believed that, and even with this unfolding with Hedo, I still don't. Here's why....

Asking Blazer Fans
How do we feel about Oden going to Ohio State this summer and evidently not being interested in playing in Vegas or attending a big mans camp? Is this OK with most of you or do most of you feel this is indicative of a potential problem? Without applying my opinion just wondered how many of you felt about Odens Summer Plans.
