When my parents got married and moved from India to America as poor immigrants and had me, the Buffalo community really enveloped and supported them, especially my church. It was during that SB run where we learned about football and turned into Bills fans. I was brought up on football and Buffalo wings, and today I still hold true to those two aspects. I play football and tennis, and have a passion for videogames, filmmaking, stunts, good food, and good times. A sophomore at the University of Michigan.

Pats = Easiest Schedule in League in 2012
No a few decimal points equate to terms being unfair, but... really? The easiest SOS in the league? For the 20-draft-picks-a-year, yearly AFCE crown Patriots?
Miami Dolphins, .496 opponent win percentage, No. 18
New York Jets, .492 opponent win percentage, No. 20
Buffalo Bills, .473 opponent win percentage, No. 29
New England Patriots, .453 opponent win percentage, No. 32
It's ironic to see NYG at top and NE on bottom. Someone really doesn't want to see SB pt. 3 go down.
Or let's put it this way. If Welker makes that catch, and Pats win, are they still #32 on this list?
Can we get Ron's opinion on Bell/Hairston/Need at LT?
What do the numbers tell us? Many say that if we resign Bell we don't need a highly picked OT. Is that the case? Do we need one if he doesn't sign?
Can/will Hairston start of us wk1?
How big is the need for an LT at 10, relative to what we saw from last season

Must see. "Tough being a Jets fan"? What a joke!
Jackson confident Bills will restructure contract.
Good to hear. Bills shouldn't toy around on this one.
Before wk 4, this is a little video I put together for fun in honor of wk 3's best play. Compliments of Gus Johnson and CBS.

Bills need our help
I think we should develop an exclusive Bills celebration. The announcers recently called the lambeau leap imitation the Buffalo Bounce (ugh.). Think of the Dirty Bird, or the Mile High salute. Why do you remember these? Because those Falcons and those Broncos were good. We're good too. We need a signature Bills celebration.
There's a bottle of tequila on the table in the middle- limes are included. Let's brainstorm. Come up with an idea, take a shot on me. Rec the ones you like.
If we cohesively use Twitter, #billsmafia, etc. I bet we can encourage the players to think of something, or suggest the best idea that we come up with.
What I wouldn't give for TKO
What a mistake to send him off. You make good calls, you made bad calls, but this one definitely would have helped. Look what we're scrapping around for now while he's still out producing.
Stay classy Takeo. Would love nothing more to see you finally taste playoffs in SD and deliver a crushing hit to Sanchez come wildcard weekend.
Sell me on Dareus or Bowers
Sure, nominally, they're the best at their position. Are their talents/production extraordinary enough to be worth a Top 3, or are they only there by default? Show me some plays, stories, or reviews.
Madden had this thing called a Weapon player, where a few players (i.e. Ty Law, Terrell Owens) had the ability to beat their opponent's rating substantially and take over a game. I hate to use an analogy from a videogame, but it seems to me a top 3 pick means you should walk away with the 3rd best player in college football; a rare selection that should be used on the Best Player Available, who can dominate the position for several years (and waiting to fill needs with later picks).
Are these two guys in that category? I've heard that description about players like Green and Peterson, is that true? I'm a proponent of building from the lines out too, but we've got 7 other picks and history's shown our late guys usually beat out our day 1 picks anyways. (Williams-McCargo, Moats-Maybin, Nelson-Hardy, etc)
I feel as I should almost call this NSFW
boy, it is BRUTAL in Wash right now (35-0 in the FIRST! McNabb with SIX passing yards and a pick!) and so it makes for a rather sickening, but kind of enjoyable, exercise to read the Hog's Haven Gameday thread right now.. Just sayin'!
The Law of Gus Johnson.
continues.
| Texans (+1.5) over JAGUARS The Law of Gus Johnson is sweeping the nation: He's called four straight weeks of games that were genuinely exciting (Jets-Lions, Bills-Chiefs, Bengals-Falcons, Chiefs-Texans) and this battle between two David Lee teams (all offense, no defense) looks like No. 5. I keep mentioning the Law of Gus without ever really defining it, so let's do it right now. If Gus Johnson is calling an NFL game, the odds quintuple that (A) the lead will change hands in the fourth quarter; (B) someone will complete a long pass in a big moment that will make Gus' voice hit an octave only dogs can hear; and (C) the game will go into overtime or at least come damned close. It seems impossible that the mere presence of an announcer would alter the course of the game, but here's my theory: I think God sits in his Man Cave on Sundays and says, "Which game is that Gus Johnson calling? I get a kick out of that guy. I think I'll make his game exciting and see if he completely loses his mind." |

Torell Troup - Want to know why we took him?
I could care less about Spiller's interviews but this guy sounds like he fully understands that he's going to work the absolute hardest, and receive the absolute least, of the defensive unit.
Conference Call
Early or not, no doubting there was a fair run on DTs round 2 (i.e. look at the guy the Packers had to draft) and Troup likely would not of been there 32 picks later. If he's the guy we wanted, and I can see why, it seems like 41 was the time to get him (as opposed to packaging picks to move back up and assuming there was no offer strong enough to trade down).
I'm expecting value-this, QB-that, and that's okay; I like this pick.

Hello. Here's a layman's outlook for our offensive line (in the Xmas/offseason spirit):
(I'm no RonFromNM here. I certainly can't question the stats and efficiency ratings of Demetrius Bell. All I can say is what warrants concern from what I've seen. Just a student of the game, former player, current Michigan team manager, that has watched each Bills snap once or twice this season.)
Abstract: While many consider our current line to have some upside, the majority of the players we have used are fringe NFL players and have not displayed any sort of "flash" beyond flashes of inconsistency. Shown below are the reviewal of those who played in 2009, outlook to 2010 concerning each of 2009's players, the implications of 2010 outlook, recommendations and conclusion made for optimal improvement based on the implications. A progressive (as opposed to conservative) approach is taken.
In my mind,

Been waiting to splurge?
Here's your opportunity! Move quickly, some of these have already sold out.
I got $43 worth of stuff, including shipping, that would have ran me $156 normally! Real happy about this. Came out with the pullover warmer, the sick red beanie (not a cap guy), and the full zip up hoodie.
Enjoy!
Might I just say.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN GALLIFORD!!
Sorry to break it to the Rumblers Brian, but it is your birthday (22?) today! Let us do our best to clog up these servers in wishing him a great Bday. Hope it's a sweet day man. w00t w00t, let me know where the party is.
Thanks for all you do. It's a great site because of your dedication and your work to develop and delegate other leaders. LETS GO BILLS!

CONFIRMED: Edwards OUT
As are Hardy and Parrish. Just to confirm K's recent fanpost. I hope, but secretly doubt, that DJ plays Edwards and Hardy a good bit against Detroit.
Our first team O needs as much as reps together as possible. Even with Hardy, Edwards, and even Peters, our offense is shaky. Without, well, we might just set another club record.
A great look at Donte Whitner.
A very cool look at the Bills-Giants game last that started oh-so-promising. Whitner was mike'd up as was Lynch and both provided some sweet sound bytes and action. Whitner had a camera dedicated to him and you see a few great stops by him as well as some he'd much rather forget.
At times, he's dominant, at other times, liable, but in either case, he's a leader. And he'll only get better.
Here's another great piece by Draftguys.tv, this time on Demetrius Bell. Both this and the piece on Omon are very encouraging.
A great analysis + Interview of Xavier Omon, courtesy of Draftguys.tv
These guys have great pieces on some of the more unknown prospects out there and don't get the credit they deserve.
News for Sweeders and Harvees
Taken from a friend at the other site I post at, Billszone.com. He says he talked for two hours with a guy that is a draft analyst for a living. Take it for what it's worth. I for one, am happy that if this guy is correct, we do have some secret interest in Sweed. I would be ecstatic if we traded down with Detroit and got Sweed or, well I'll let you read more about it. Hmm.. Any update on
Not really a diary, but does anyone have any news or updates on William James, Corey McIntrye, or James Hall? From that group, the only one I'd really like to sign would be James. His relative youth and height could save us from picking a CB in the draft 3rd or higher and address WR, TE, DE, and maybe even S before.
Wish I could say the same about DE, but Hall doesn't excited me at all. If there was a pass rush specialist out there yet in the FA, I'd take that route to save us the DE pick till later. I'd rather do that than the CB scenario, but it doesn't look like any worthy DEs are out there. (Kalimba Edwards?)
Welcome to the group, Johnson and Troupe.
I don't have any additional inside info on the two players nor the one agent that reps them both. However, I am going on a pure gut feeling that both will be Bills at the end of the day. I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong but I'm predicting Troupe signs today with a 4 yr contract worth about 11 mill and 3 mill in guarentees. Johnson will follow with a 5 year contract worth 27 million and a 8 million dollar signing bonus.
Those are my predictions, lets pray that they are correct. Man, what a position we'd be in for the draft if we got these two.
If we go ahead and sign Wilford,
I really believe that grabbing an additional WR would become a necessity. Simply put, Evans, Wilford, Reed, Parrish, TEs, RBs isn't enough, especially with a sophomore QB. I think we'll still need to add a Donte Stallworth type player as a situational intermediate and deep threat in rounds 2-4. That will give us a group of 5 viable WRs that should be very balanced in every aspect of the receiving game, except perhaps YAC. We will have to use them interchangeably and it's doubtful that more than one will be able to achieve remarkable stats, but it will give us a wide array of looks.
I'd much rather go the route where we draft/trade for ONE guy that can be a threat deep and can use his body over the middle and in the RZ, but Wilford and a 3rd round speedster works for me too.
I just want Drayton Florence here first. :)
Three Impact Players and Four 2TAs.
Although I think the Bills will get another player, likely a rook, to compete at the TE position, the Bills seem moderately satisfied with Johnson/Royal/Gaines at TE. Add in a 3rd or 4th round prospect as well and I'm on board too.
Royal and Gaines both provide solid blocking ability with some receiving ability as well although neither can get consistent YAC which is what were looking for. Johnson may develop into that YAC guy we need, and if not, that's why we have the 3rd/4th rook.
I'm satisfied with Poz, Crowell as starters and LOVE DiG, Ellison, and Haggan as depth. This leaves WLB as a position of need where we must get an impact player.
At DE, I believe we have more talent (not to mention cash) than we do at DT, but both are a need. Therefore as long as we address one right away and the other in the midrounds or as a midpriced FA, I am indifferent of which position we get our 2nd impact player at.
WR is somewhere where we need an impact player arguably the most. We cannot grab a player and have him compete with Reed/Price for the #2 spot. We need a guy to come in and ASSUME that spot and keep Reed in his best position at #3 and Parrish in his best at #4. I hope the Bills gracefully releases Price this offseason. (unless he's ok playing #4/#5) This board has already defined criteria needed for this impact WR we need.
So that's impact #3. Keep in mind that there is no order or priority to impact #1,2, or 3. Impacts can be filled though a high priced FA acquisition (Think Walker to Dockery money) or high draft pick.
After the impacts, we have the 2nd tier of acquisitions. (2TA) They are made up of midpriced FA's and midrounders. One 2TA already defined is TE and this is insurance should Teyo not be the impact TE we want for TE. Another 2TA already defined is DE or DT. This 2TA depends on which position we took with our #2 impact player, and since there is no preference, it could be either.
After that, we have two more 2TAs. One to potentially compete with Fowler at C and possibly Butler at RG. At worst he may serve as some beefier depth along that inner line. Then we also have CB, preferably with good height that can serve to backup/play on the outside and move McGee/Greer to slot at times with their quickness.
The Bills also need a Marcus Price type vet at T to backup both spots. I would shudder if it was a rookie; we need a low priced vet who won't pancake anyone but has good technique and experience and can hold up for short periods of a season. Add in a backup QB here if you think JP's gone and Hamdan can't cut it lol.
So to sum that all up, here's the checklist we can use when Bills FO makes their moves this offseason:
1a. WR
1b. WLB
1c. DT or DE
2a. TE
2b. DE or DT (other)
2c. C/RG
2d. CB
3a. Backup LT/RT (HAS to be FA)
3b. Backup QB
