With Gilbert Arenas gone (thanks for the memories Gil!) I'm trying to put my GM hat on and look into the mind of Ernie Grunfeld.  The common outlook is that it takes 3 years for an elite Point Guard to make his presence known in the NBA.  That puts John Wall starting the prime of his career in 2012/2013 year.  Rashard Lewis is a nice trade piece that year, and we are likely to have lottery picks for the next two years.  Perhaps the Wizards start to make a push as an Elite team in the NBA then?   By then the LA, Kobe is no longer an NBA threat and Phil is probably gone.  Miami will have a 31 year old Dwayne Wade and perhaps Miami machine is showing signs of rust.  Dallas will have a 34 yr old Nowitzki and Jason Kidd will likely be gone.
