What do you think? Is Texas the best? Don't think so. BTW OSU (Oregon St.) has the worst, even with its new design. South Central ... can't be found.

Meet the Team August 17

Morgan Center said: "All Bruin fans are invited to "Meet the Team" on Saturday, August 17 at the UCLA Football team's last practice in San Bernardino. The event is free and open to the public. Fans in attendance will receive the 2013 poster and free ice cream!" This is just not good, making us fans travel long way to meet the players. Last year, it was done at Drake Stadium. They are just plain cheap.

RIP Ron Pearson, former basketball captain

UCLA Football Fan Travel Packages

Information on UCLA Football Fan Travel Packages has been posted. The Alumni Association has sent out e-mails on "Join Bruins on the Road": 2013 UCLA Football Away Games ticket prices are Nebraska $75 each, Utah $55 each, Stanford $50 each, Oregon $93 each, Arizona $34 each, USC $95 each. The Alumni Association said: 1. The Nebraska Cornhuskers are still reeling from last year’s 36-30 upset loss to the Bruins. Can UCLA thwart one of their toughest opponents two years in a row and do it in Lincoln? 2. The Bruins fell to the Oregon Ducks when they met in the 2011 Pac-12 championship. Can UCLA reverse the standings this year in Eugene? 3. A win at the Coliseum would top UCLA’s thrilling 38-28 victory over USC in 2012. Can we win two in a row? Don’t you want to be there to see it?

Replacement Refs got Steak Dinner and Car

Now we know: Cheaty Pete took replacement ref out to steak dinner and R Wilson gave car after the last minute win for the Seattle NFL team. [Watch the truth at the video's 5:55 mark]

Two former UCLA Water Polo players found success

Adam Krikorian won Championships for UCLA and first Women's Water Polo Olympic gold for the USA. His brother Blake played water polo for UCLA and graduated from UCLA engineering school. Blake and another Krikorian brother started Slingbox, "a television streaming device that allows people to watch the home TV from anywhere over the Internet." SlingMedia was sold for $380 million. Wow. Smart Bruins. Congratulations to the Krikorians!

Diamond Forever, LOL

Athletics department is working on correct problems. They took out a full page ad in the LA Times back sports page to say "This Diamond is Forever." Then they went to work fast to correct the errors on the Championships board. Now the columns are not even. At least all the teams are listed, with the 4th column having an extra team (109 is not divisible into 4). Still nice to see all the teams listed. Thank you.

Athletic Websites Make Changes

Pac-12 Conference is announcing the relaunching of the school athletic websites for all member schools today. No more CBS Sports. Hopefully the new websites with NeuLion will make them more useful, especially in the area of videos. According to Pac-12: "The re-launching of the new school web sites is part of a larger effort by Pac-12 Digital to create the ultimate digital network to better connect fans to their favorite Pac-12 teams, student-athletes, coaches and schools."

Coach Jim Mora, Xavier Su’a Filo (OL), Anthony Barr (LB) are set to be there representing UCLA on Friday, July 26 at Sony Studios in Culver City, Calif. "Pac-12.com will be all over the scene with exclusive video, behind-the-scenes access and a live stream of the main stage session," according to Pac-12 Conference.

Darren Collison comes home

LAT is reporting that Darren Collison agrees to coming back to Los Angeles to be with the Clippers, to be the backup point guard for Chris Paul. Welcome home Darren! Ryan Hollins may come back to the Clippers too.

The Little Things

UCLA, I love it! Have you been to all the places shown on this video? A very beautiful campus. "The Little Things" was submitted by Graham Unterberger '12, for the UCLA Fund's 2012 Bruin Video Contest. Congratulations to Graham for a job well done.

Breaking News -- LAT reports: "John Savage will remain UCLA's baseball coach, with a raise and a long contract extension, after USC tried to pry him away."
