Answer at Fullback
Answer at Fullback How about Michael Robinson. Hammer head fullback. Can catch ball out of backfield. Good short yardage back. Experience as 3rd down back. Emergency QB (PSU) and a special teams ace. High character guy! Would also make 3 fullbacks in a row we take from Seattle. Weaver, Schmidt, and now Robinson.
Only in America
Only in America do we allow for such freedom of speech. I am a patriot (Red Blooded American, not New Englander) and I believe in the constitution and the right for all to have their say...
That said, It doesn't mean it doesn't make me shake my head at all the "Know It Alls" and short sighted fans that are calling for everyone's heads!
I am writing this fully aware that I am one of those using the freedoms our brave men and women have provided for us to spout my Humble Opinions.
and let it be said....
All of you calling for Andy Reid's head need to have your head's examined. Your expectations in Philadelphia have become so high because of the culture Andy has built. I for one am thrilled that each year, we have a better than a good shot at going to the playoffs or more. How many teams out there can't say that?
Those of you saying "All the teams had the same shortened off season" are missing a critical fact of why our team did not play well. Most teams that played well through out the season had LITTLE turn over to deal with. We had a vast overhaul, and had NO time to gel. The birds have certainly shown throughout the season and especially the last few weeks what they are capable of...... As long as we don't blow this team up, they will be outstanding this year.
I am not a blind follower and don't see through rose colored glasses. Making Juan Castillo the DC baffled me. I am not sure if he has made these late adjustments or some adviser has. Juan is the one COG that I see that may have to be changed.....however, I won't be surprise if he is not based on his show of getting his groove as of late.
In fact, the only major overhaul I see as an absolute must is, at Linebacker. I like what I see everywhere else. Of course, if we get a dominant right tackle (Todd Heremans has performed admirably) then I wouldn't mind seeing Todd slide back into left guard and he alone with Jason Peters plowing a huge road for Shady to run behind.
We have a GREAT (not good) young team. We made some young immature mistakes that cost us some games that we should have won. With experience and patience, I think this IS the team to bring us to the promised land.
That is just my Humble Opinion.
That said, not making the playoffs did hurt........but can any of you really disagree with the fact that any win especially a dominant one as we had today and a few weeks ago, doesn't feel ALMOST as good as a play off win!.
God Bless all of you and Merry Christmas!!!

Page to get the start over Allen
Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of Nate Allen. I also happen to have the honor of being a friend of his. That however does not make me blind to the fact that he has not looked himself yet this year and the Pittsburgh game in particular was just down right ugly.
Page and Allen have been splitting time in the attempt to give Allen's knee some due rest. He is not back quite as far as he had hoped. Page will get the start this Thurs and there is a chance Page will ride the starting role into the first week of the season. I hope however, we can all agree, Allen has more upside and potential star power.
I think last Thursdays debacle in Pittsburgh was a combination of both Nate's knee not being up to speed causing his hesitancy in reacting as well as confusion in the new defensive scheme.
Don't count Nate Allen out. We will see him in the starting role again for the Eagles before long and we will all be very happy to have him back there!

Local Philadelphia Eagles great (Chuck Bednarik) hospitalized
Chuck Bednarik is in "serious" condition at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill.
http://www.mcall.com/news/breaking/mc-eagles-chuck-bednarik-hospital-hea20110324,0,7212428.story
Local Philadelphia Eagles icon Chuck Bednarik who played on the 1960 NFL championship team is in serious condition Thursday morning at St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill.
Bednarik was admitted Wednesday reportedly due to shortness of breath. A nursing supervisor on Thursday said his condition was serious.
Bednarik, who will turn 86 on May 1. lives in Upper Saucon Township just west of Coopersburg with his wife, Emma.
Text STOP NORTHAMPTON to quit, text HELP for info
Bednarik played for the Eagles from 1949 to 1962 and was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1967.
He grew up in Bethlehem and starred on the former Bethlehem (Liberty) High School football team, then flew 30 bombing missions over Europe during World War II before enrolling at Penn in 1945.
Known as "Concrete Charlie" and acclaimed as the "Greatest Eagle of All-Time," Bednarik played 14 years with the Eagles, leading them to the 1949 and 1960 NFL championships.
In 1948 the 6-3, 233-pounder became the first lineman to win the Maxwell Award and placed third in the Heisman Trophy voting before the Eagles grabbed him with their first pick in the 1949 draft. Although the NFL adopted the two-platoon system of offense and defense we know today soon after Bednarik joined the league, he played both center and linebacker throughout his career, almost never leaving the field -- after missing the first two games of his rookie season with injury, Bednarik missed just one other the rest of his career.
Garcia confirms talks with the Eagles
FOOTBALL: Garcia confirms talk between his agent, Eagles

Garcia also mentioned that there is interest but no contract offering as of yet.
If Garcia, 40, ends up on the Eagles' roster, it will be the Gilroy native's third stint with the club (2006-07, 2009-10).
A report by the Philadelphia Daily News of Garcia's possible return to the Eagles surfaced last week after the Eagles departed with long-time starting quarterback Donovan McNabb, who was dealt to the Washington Redskins on April 4.
McNabb spent 11 season's in Philly.
Garcia, an 11-year vet, served as McNabb's back up during the 2006-07 season, taking over for the injured starter in November of that year, leading the Eagles to an NFC East title and a first-round playoff victory. Garcia threw 10 touchdowns to just two interceptions during a five-game winning streak to close out the regular season.
Garcia and the Eagles reunited last season after McNabb went down Week One with a broken rib. Garcia was released two weeks later.
In his most recent full-time gig, Garcia led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the playoffs in 2008.
Eagles still hoping to move Vick
After Kolb proved in back-to-back starts arising from a Week One broken rib suffered by McNabb that the 2007 second-rounder can get it done, reports emerged that Vick would be one and done in Philly. The timing wasn't coincidental, in our view. We believed that the Eagles had seen enough to know that, if McNabb were to leave after the 2009 season, Kolb would get the nod moving forward.
Thus, Philly's original plan likely was to trade both McNabb and Vick. Now, amid reports that the Eagles are keeping Vick, the man who first reported that Vick would leave Philly after a single season reports that Vick remains available. Per Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News, the Eagles still hope to trade the man whose arrival last August was nearly as jarring as Donovan's departure.
Domowitch points out that, if the Eagles can't trade Vick, they would still bring in a veteran quarterback to assume Kolb's role from 2009 -- game day No. 3 but replacement for the starter if the starter gets hurt. If accurate, this means that the Eagles don't think much of Vick, who would again be relegated to Wildcat duty only.
Domowitch also mentions Marc Bulger as the veteran who could serve as the backup to Kolb, with or without Vick on the roster. Whether Bulger would be interested will depend on his options with other teams.
McNabb wants to stay...and I want him
McNabb wants to stay, hasn't spoken with Reid Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 24, 2010 2:36 PM ET Andy Reid finally admitted Wednesday that Donovan McNabb is available in a trade, but McNabb is hoping to remain an Eagle.
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer credits a source that says McNabb wants to stay in Philadelphia and retire there. It's an interesting nugget to float publicly, because McNabb would be passing on a contract extension that would likely come with a trade.
Perhaps McNabb has looked at the ever-shrinking list of possible teams he fits with and doesn't like what he sees.
McLane also reports that Reid hasn't spoken to McNabb in months. That news is nearly as eye-opening as Reid's words were this morning.
Show some appreciation Philly
Argh!!!
I am soooooo sick of all the McNabb haters out there! Tired of them.
McNabb was booed by Philly before he ever put on a uniform. This city has never appreciated him and I am afraid it will not until he is gone.
Do you all not remember what it was like to not having a WINNING QB. Do you forget the days of Detmer, Hoying, Pete, Pederson as our starters? Really!?!?!
A franchise QB comes along every once in a great while. So, McNabb never won the BIG GAME (YET)......but did Cunningham, Jaworski, hell ..... lets look outside Philly. Did Hall of Famer Dan Marino?
So.......IF...... we dump McNabb...... We are hanging our hopes on a QB that has started two NFL games, won 50% of those games. In his limited action at the helm in Philly, he has thrown 2 Pick-6's for over 90 yards!
Yes, I am of the belief that Kolb will probably one day be a great QB. But to dump McNabb for an unproven guy is just foolish!
I certainly hope it won't happen but I can totally see Super 5 going elsewhere, winning the Big Game there.....and us being stuck with another "Bust" in 4. What will you all be doing then?
Super 5 and Andy Reid have raised the expectations in our city so high that most of the city is blinded to the success we have enjoyed. I love knowing that almost every year that I buy season tickets, we have a chance! We are probably at the least going to the post season.....
Philly needs to appreciate what it has before it is gone or it will be too late to clamour for him back!

New Tenders or contracts for current birds?!
With free agency looming, we have a # of birds set to become RFA and if not tendered, to free hit the market tomorrow.
My concerns lie in the following
Leonard Weaver (RFA) Rumor mill has a new contract that should be done hopefully before the deadline
Jason Avant (RFA) We can not let this guy. Needs a new contract or to be Tendered
Nick Cole (RFA) With Jamaal Jackson a big question mark as well as the Andrew Towers also in quesiton, letting Nick Cole go without a tender would be foolish.
I know we have some more guys with FA looming including (Omar Gaither) but these are the few guys I am very concerned about.
Thoughts? Any other word on the street?
Go Birds!
Extensions
Another fantastic win for the Eagles tongiht. Defense was not as stout as I would have liked however, when the offense can keep firing like they did tonight to pick up the slack of the defense, then i feel good!
Now to the question at hand. I am wondeirng about the potential of any extensions currently in the works....
I see a handful of pressing matters.
Both Leonard Weaver and Jason Avant are in the last years of their contracts with the Eagles. I think they are both invaluable members of this team. I would hope you all agree but both of these players need to be extended.
Obvisousy, the next question is what is our plan at QB beyond 2010. Both McNabb and Kolb are in their 2nd last year of their contracts. Where do we go from here? I love McNabb and always have......... I hope he retires an Eagle. If that is the case, he needs an extension. If not, Kolb needs one.
So, does anyone know anything that is going on with any of these guys... Weaver, Avant, McNabb, or Kolb? Any input is appreciated!
Celek till 2016
<!-- ON THE INSIDE END -->
This is the ladder you take to reach the level Brent Celek
In his first year as a starting tight end in the NFL, Celek is having all kinds of success. He has 54 catches, 601 yards and 5 touchdowns. Celek is a tough, hard-working blocker. Given his athletic ability and his work ethic and his hunger to be better every day, Celek's ceiling is way, way up there. He is a vital cog here now, and as the Eagles have so often demonstrated in the past and so far this season -- Winston Justice signed an extension last week -- he is someone to build around as the team moves forward.
It is absolutely no surprise that Celek and the Eagles got a deal done. Is there a more perfect player to man the tight end position in blue-collar Philadelphia than a kid who has advanced as arduously as Celek? He is the fastest tight end the Eagles have ever had. He isn't the most athletically-gifted player who has ever graced the position.
But Celek combines so many valuable traits that he may, yeah, I'm going to say it, one day be the best tight end the Eagles have had here in many, many seasons. He is a big, strong player with great hands. He runs like a souped-up truck with the ball in his hands. Celek has a super-high football IQ and the desire to be great.
Celek's development has been one of the many pleasant in-season surprises on this 7-4 football team. A fifth-round draft pick in 2007, Celek played sparingly that season and then opened 2008 as the backup to L.J. Smith before Smith's injury problems and, ultimately, his lack of productivity, dropped him to second string.
Meanwhile, Celek was rocketing up the depth chart because he spent every day at the NovaCare Complex running routes, watching film, working out. The coaches noticed, and under the tutelage of tight ends coach Tom Melvin, Celek began to blossom.
A November 2, 2008 game in Seattle marked Celek's real emergence. He caught 6 passes for 131 yards that day in an Eagles win, and even though Smith returned to the lineup in the season, it was only a matter of time before Celek claimed the role for good.
He started three of the final four games of the regular season and then started in all three playoff games. Celek's 10 catches, 83 yards and 2 touchdowns in the NFC Championship Game made it official: The job was his.
"He is such a hard-working player with a great attention to detail," said head coach Andy Reid of Celek. "He was that way from the very first day he got here. We all saw that from the start with Brent."
Said offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg of Celek: "We all saw it almost right away. He is a player who performs at a high level on a consistent basis. He is good at the line and in the passing game. He is dependable and you can count on him on every play to get to the right spot and do the right thing. This whole staff saw that very early."
Signing Celek continues a philosophy of locking up young players for the long term, something that has generally served the Eagles well. With the signing of Celek and Justice, the Eagles have now inked 22 players on the current roster (including players on Injured Reserve) to multiple contracts. The 24-year-old Celek is among a core group of players currently manning the skill positions on offense, joining 22-year-old wide receiver DeSean Jackson and a pair of 21-year-old rookies in wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and running back LeSean McCoy.
In fact, the average age of the current roster is 26.6 years old, while 76 percent of that roster is signed through 2010 and beyond, including 22 players who are signed through 2012 and beyond.
It's a great position to be in now and for the years to come. Celek is a key piece. He has a thumb injury and a lot of time to spend in the athletic trainer's room this week, but he is using to putting in the time. He has done it from Day 1 as an Eagle, and it is a prime reason he is where he is now: One of the game's best tight ends armed with a long-term contract and years of great play in front of him.
Where is big Jon
Where is Big Jon.
I think it became clear that what was supposed to be strength of the Eagles has definately become a liability.
I don't think it was anyones intention to go into this season with Justice at Right Tackle. Once again, he gave us flash backs of that Giants game two years ago.
We had the makings of the best O line in the league then Herremans gets hurt.....Shawn the big Kid becomes a big Baby again, and Stacy Andrews knee is not ready for him at Right tackle.....
Where is big Jon now. Our offense line is in desperate need of some nastiness and leadership!!
Here we go.....Please give it a rest
Let me preface this by saying......I am as sick over this loss as anyone today. We needed to go into that Giants game 5-1....now we will be good if we are 4-2
Point of this post is to immediately squash all the band wagon jumpers and typical McNabb/Reid bashers.
i am a die hard (cut me I bleed green) Eagles fan. I recognize the kind of success we have had under Andy Reid and McNabb is arare and special!!!
Yet, here we go again with the posts and blogs stating that McNabb/Reid need to go.
A handful of things contributed to the loss today. 2 of them were not Andy Reid and Super 5.
1. I honestly think the Eagles were looking past the Raiders
2. One God Awful play of broken and missed tackles that went for 80+ yards by a pitiful slow tightend.
3. Our offensive line could not open running lones let alone protect Super 5.
So, if you are sick over todays loss as I am....and you wish to vent.....come up with an educated complaint and lets not blame it on McNabb and Reid.....
I still say we end at least 10-6 if not 11-5.

The Axe Man is back!!!
Trotter returns to Philly
Posted by Mike Florio on September 29, 2009 2:35 PM ET
After two workouts in roughly a week and an absence of more than two years, veteran linebacker Jeremiah Trotter is back where he started.
According to Jay Glazer of FOX, the Eagles have agreed to terms with Trotter. Per Glazer, it's a one-year deal.
Trotter told the Philadelphia Daily News that his second workout was "two to three times better" than his initial workout.
Trotter also says that microscopic knee surgery from 2008 has improved his mobility.
"To say my knee is better is an understatement," he said.
Trotter could push Omar Gaither for the starting job, which Gaither inherited when Stewart Bradley tore an ACL during training camp.
No Shawn Andrews.... Jon Runyan ??
No Shawn Andrews in Philly Posted by Mike Florio on September 11, 2009 12:05 PM ET Reports are coming in, Twitter-style, regarding the status of Eagles right tackle Shawn Andrews,
Per guys like Sheil Kapadia of philly.com and Adam Caplan of Scout.com, Andrews is not at practice on Friday. He also missed practice Thursday, due to his ongoing back problems.
The development likely means that Andrews won't play Sunday at Carolina.
And maybe it means that the Eagles will get Jon Runyan signed in time for kickoff
Pats dump Greg Lewis
Pats dump Greg Lewis Posted by Mike Florio on September 7, 2009 7:10 PM ET In March, the Pats swung a deal for Eagles receiver Greg Lewis.
In September, the Pats dumped him.
According to Adam Caplan of Scout.com, the Patriots have released Lewis, who caught three passes for 58 yards during the preseason.
A vested veteran, Lewis becomes an unrestricted free agent. His best season came in 2005, when he started 16 games (thanks in large part to the giant stick in T.O.'s butt), catching 48 passes for 561 yards.
Because Lewis made the cut on Saturday, our first guess was that Lewis had declined to take a pay cut. According to NFLPA records, however, his base salary was only $650,000. Unless he was due other compensation that he refused to reduce or abandon (such as a roster bonus), Lewis simply was holding the last spot on the roster as of today.
And it makes us wonder whether the Pats made the move in order to clear a place for defensive lineman Richard Seymour, whose trade to the Raiders looks to be tenuous at best, regardless of what anyone is saying.
UPDATE: The Patriots have announced the move, and they filled the roster spot with defensive back Bret Lockett, who was claimed on waivers from the Browns.
Dawkins
Anyone else having trouble watching this Sunday Night Matchup. Seeing Dawkins (and Buck) but primarily Dawkins wearing Broncos Orange is putting an sour ending to an otherwise fantastic weekend!!!
Is there anyway to work a trade still at this point to bring him home?! Sighhhhh....

Weaver?
Any official word on Weaver's injury? Is he supposed to be ok? I heard it was just a mcl sprain. If so, is that official?
We can not afford to lose him too.

You must follow the directions to be able to play this season.
The FBFL (Fake Betting Football League) and the SFL (Suicide Football League) are both being hosted at www.thefbfl.com
You can find a copy of the rules on the website. I will also copy them in below.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jim and I at thefbfl@gmail.com
The S.F.L (Suicide Football League) has a very simple concept. Each member has to choose one winner per week. Each member can only choose a team once. The same team may not be chosen again. When a member chooses a team and they lose, or the member runs out out of teams to choose, ie. playoffs, then that member is eliminated.
The object of the game is to stay alive as long as possible. The winner is the member(s) who lasts the longest. The winner gets the pot. If more than one member makes it to the end or the last remaining members are eliminated in the same week, then they split the pot.
Deadline for weekly picks. The deadline for the weekly picks is Friday night by midnight unless there is a Thursday game. If there is a Thursday game, picks must be in by Thursday at 12pm. If a member fails to put their picks in by the deadline, then they are automatically eliminated from the game. No margin of error here.
To sign up for the SFL, please send and email of your intent to me at thefbfl@gmail.com and you must register by clicking this link and following the instructions. http://2008lemasfl.football.cbssports.com/e The password to register is lema
Membership fees are $25.
Each member may buy in more than once.
Prizes will be distributed at the end of the complete NFL season.
What is the F.B.F.L?
The F.B.F.L or Fake Betting Football League is designed to give the member the thrill of betting on game after game all season long without the risk of financial loss or breaking the law.
How does it work?
Each member of the F.B.F.L will be issued 1,000 credits at the beginning of the season. Every week, the member is required to bet a minimum of half their current credits or as much as he/she would like. Betting may be done on the NFL games of the member’s choice for that week. The member does not have to bet on all the games that week but must bet on at least two games until the end of the season when only one game remains. The bets are placed on the outcome of the game. The outcome is determined by a straight, old fashioned, win or loss. Spreads do not count in this league.
Money Lines: We will be using a money lines this season. This money line will be posted the week before the games to be wagered on. The money line will make the game more interesting. Money lines are like odds. You win more by betting on the under dog than by betting on the favorite. When the money line is +/- 100 it is the same as even money (you win what you bet).
Money Line Formulas:
If the member correctly picked the winner of the game he/she bet on, then his/her account will be credited the proper number of credits. If he/she picked a favorite (negative money line) the amount won will be [(bet x 100)/moneyline]. If he/she picked an underdog (positive money line) then the amount won will be [(bet x moneyline) / 100] If he/she chose incorrectly, the number of credits which were wagered will then be deducted from the member’s account. If the games result is a tie, then the member does not gain or lose any credits. Remember, a member may bet on as many games per week as he/she chooses. If a member does not place the bets for the week on time, then his/her account will automatically be deducted half of their remaining credits. Important reminder: Be cautious with your betting. There are 17 weeks to the regular season plus playoffs and the Super bowl. Once a member runs out of credits, there is no way to earn more.
Deadline for weekly bets. The deadline for the weekly bets is typically Thursday afternoon at 12 noon before that weeks games. If bets are not received by this time, then it will be considered a "NO BET" wager and half of the remaining credits will be deducted. For the weeks that have Thursday games, the bets are due by Wed at 12 noon. There are times that the cutoff date may change for a given week. Ample notice will be given by the webmaster.
League Prizes:
The leagues membership fees will be put into a pool. At the end of the season the leagues pool will be distributed to the five members with the most credits. The pool will be distributed as follows:
1st Prize = 50% of pool
2nd Prize = 20% of pool
3rd Prize = 15% of pool
4th Prize = 10% of pool
5th Prize = 5% of pool
Weekly Wagers:
******Important. Please read. ******
A minimum of half of the member's credits must be wagered per week on the NFL games of choice. A minimum of two games must be bet on each week until the Super Bowl. No more than your 75% of your weekly bets may be placed on an individual game. Example, If a member wishes to wager on two games this week for a total of 1000 credits, then no more than 750 of those credits may be on one game. Failure to bet the minimum points, the minimum games, or the 75% rule will be considered as an Invalid Week and half of your points will be lost. In no way will an invalid bet be used to save yourself from losing all of your points and going out of the league for the season (ex. you bet 100% of your points on only 1 game and lose the game....you will be out for the season...you will not be saved by only losing 50% of your points).
All wagers will be entered on the FBFL web site by each user. Each user will have a logon and a password to the site. Wagers can be changed while the week is open. Once the week is closed (at the weekly deadline), no changes can be made to your wagers. If you are having trouble with the website or you are not sure if your wagers are placed properly, you may email your wagers to me at thefbfl@gmail.com by the weekly deadline. The standard weekly deadline is Friday by midnight. If there is a Thursday game, the deadline is Wednesday at midnight. If you fail to login in time and your email is received past the deadline, it will not be accepted. If your wagers are posted online and you send an email as well, the online wagers will be used if there are differences. In any email, wagers should be placed in the following fashion: Amount being bet on team over team. ex. 30,000 on Philadelphia over New York , 15,000 on Green Bay over Tampa Bay. Failure to follow this format may be considered invalid wagers by the administrator if your emailed wagers are used for the week (you will lose half your points).
Membership Fees:
Membership Fees are $100 for the season and must be paid in cash prior to the season’s start. 90% of the membership fees goes towards the cash prize. 10% goes to the host for website fees and maintenance.
Each Member may have more than one account.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jim and I at thefbfl@gmail.com

Go Eagles!!!
Excited!!!!
Did anyone else watch the game tonight. I know everyone has their panties in a bunch tonight about the Vick thing and of course it is gonna dominate the news for the next few days.
Myself, I was at the game and want to talk about the game. I am excited by what i saw.
McNabb had a shaky start with accuracy but tuned in nicely.
McCoy is the real deal. He is the Real McCoy. We could not have wished for a better compliment and eventual successor to Westbrook. McCoy is a stud. Running, catching, and blocking.
Weaver looked great. He threw some nice blocks. He also had the chance to show he can run and catch.
More so, I was impressed by Eldra Buckley. This is the change up back we need. We don't need another scat back. We have Westbrook and McCoy. Eldra Buckley showed tonight, he can run, thump, block, and catch the ball. He is a stud and the perfect compliment for what we have. Can anyone else say goodbye Booker. Damm that was a wasted 3rd round pick we traded for him with. Booker showed some skills in the open field and he has hands (great sideline catch) But he can't block and when he gets hit, he goes down like a fly being swatted.
Other notes. Celek is a stud. DeSean is DeSean. Maclin looked great. Really excited about our offense.
Defense started soft but came up big on run defense. I am a little worried about our linebackers in space.
Loved Sheldon Browns pick. Great interception... Picking off Brady and out jumping Moss. Beautiful!!!!
Go Birds!!!
McCoy, Weaver, Buckley

Go Birds!!!

2 new leagues for you to try...... www.thefbfl.com
Hey guys,
Just got back from a great week in Ocean City NJ.
I wanted to share some info about some leagues that I run. I have been running them for going on 9 years now.
These are not fantasy football leagues. They are an alternative for fantasy football. I myself am a passionate football fan and even more diehard Eagles fan but I don't have time for fantasy.
I love the thrill of betting but hate losing real money...So, I created two leagues for the football fans that want to compete in a league with a different flavor than Fantasy Football. (incidently, if someone offered, i would not be adverse to trying fantasy football if someone was running something more than a yahoo based anonymous league).
To the point....check out www.thefbfl.com On that site, you will find info about my two leagues.
FBFL or Fake Betting Football League and SFL or Suicide Football league.
I will post more details soon. I am beginning my prep of the site for the upcoming season. If you go to the link www.thefbfl.com , you can see the rules for each league and actually click back over the years to see the history week by week of how the leauge ran and how the prizes were distributed.
We are hoping to see the league grow again this year..
Any questions, email me at either thefbfl@gmail.com or rob@leadingedgema.com
Go Eagles
Rob
PS,. Picked up three nice pieces of memorabilia this weekend.
A football signed by McNabb and T.O
An axe signed by Trotter
and a mini helmet signed by Dawkins
Mock Draft Compilations----Update please
A couple of weeks ago, there was a mock draft compilations posted.
I thought it was great....showed what everyone thought every team was going to do. Has there been an updated version since we traded for Peters?
I am still holding on to the hopes that we get Moreno in the first and Coffman for TE in the 2nd.... or Pettigrew in the first and Donald Brown or McCoy in the 2nd.
I am curious what everyone else is thinking. Anyone think Moreno will actually still be there at 21?
Draft Day Wishes
I have two major Draft Day Wishes.
I feel they are our most important concerns at this point coming into draft weekend.
We need to draft effectively a RB and a TE.
After that, we can fill for depth and projects at other positions.
I will be happy if we get one of each. These are my wish lists at each position. I am ranking them in order i would want them.
RB
1. Knoshon Moreno
2. Donald Brown
3. LeSean McCoy
4. Beanie Wells
TE
1. Brandon Pettigrew
2. Chase Coffman
3. Jared Cook
4. Travis Beckum
In my humble opinion, if we end up with Moreno or Brown and Pettigrew or Coffman, we had a killer offseason. Probably one of the best in Eagles history. Dawkins heartache aside.
Obviously I think we need depth at Safety and Corner.
Thougths? Opinions? etc?

What no one is saying....
I found this curious....... This is one thing noone is talking about.
For years now, has been the speculation that our boy Super 5, McNabb, would go home to Chicago. Chicago was in desperate need of a true QB.
Well......who is eating crow now? I for one am very happy. I am hoping McNabb gets his extension and stays with us till his playing days are over.
However.....I am not holding my breath for that either after the Dawkins fiasco this year.
Leonard Weaver? Any news?
Leonard Weaver? Any news? It was all the talk for weeks.... Now I have heard nothing in close to a week. Has he resigned with Seattle?
Are we still talking to him? Is anything going on?

Torry Holt has been released
Torry Holt has been released by the Rams today. If we are truly not going after Boldin, I think this would be a good signing we can get cheap for two years.
Thoughts!?

Thomas Signs with Jaguars
Tra Thomas signed with Jacksonville today! 3 year deal.
Reid has officially excomunicated some of the most beloved and longest tenured players in Eagles history.
I hope he has a plan for left tackle!!!
First round of draft. RB and OT

Get off the Boldin Dream.. Not happening. Tired of hearing about it!
Hey guys......
It is time to stop the talk about Boldin. There are so many reasons that is not gonna happen . Just stop dreaming. It is really funny. All anyone ever cares about is a big receiver for the eagles.
First of all, Banner has held true to what he has said this off season. He said it will be a tough off season of tough decision. We say bye to Dawk, Buck, Thomas, and Runyan, (and kick LJ Smith in the ass on his way out)
He also said, we have great receiveres. I love D Jack and Curtis. Avant is excellent posession receiver. McNabb through last year for more yards than 90% of QB's in the league. We don't go to one guy. We go to them all.
What we do need, is a deep threat TE that needs to be accounted for. ie. jason Witten, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates. Someone that a defense has to account for. I like Celek and maybe he will become that but i think he will just be Good.....not great!!!
I would hate....that is right ...i said hate to see them trade for Boldin. That would cost us at least a 1st round pick and a player or 1st round and 3rd round. Etc. As this offseason has gone.....we need all of our picks. .
you want to give McNabb weapons. Get him another good RB and a good TE.
We need to address OT and RB in the first round and TE in the 2nd round.
Lastly, Kurt Warner just signed 2 year deal. You don't think that part of that negotiation was contingent on him having Boldin for at least 1 more year. Uhhh yeah.. He is not going anywhere. .
GET OFF THE BOLDIN DREAM!!!!! It isn't going to happen...nor should it..
Who gets a job first? Who is the bigger risk?
Just for fun, I thought I would ask....
Who will get a job first? Will T.O. pick up on another team or with Michael Vick get a 2nd chance in the NFL?
Hmmm.. T.O. is a cancer. I think all the teams in the NFL realize it now. I think the only owner crazy enough is Al Davis of the Raiders..
Michael Vick.....I think what he did was horrible, but he has paid a debt to society....so......... he is a talent.
Who gets the job first.
i want to do a poll...but don't know how..
Can someone explain it to me?
