LJP will tell you why it is not Shanahans fault we had a horrible season.
I was once told "when in Rome do as the Romans." So here I go. I will start making excuses as to why Shanahan is not to blame for this horrible season. You can chalk this blog idea up to my good friend. What's his name? I think it rhymes with spiller, but starts with a T? He has become somewhat of a Shanahan apologist or in other words a azz kisser. LOL.
The reason Shanahan is not at fault for this horrible season is because. THE DOG ATE HIS PLAYBOOK !!!
( FEEL FREE TO JOIN IN ON THE SHANAHAN IS NOT AT FAULT BANDWAGON !!! )
You've got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them." So says, LJP"
While I am at it let me finish! Know when to walk away, and know when to run. This one verse from the song/move of Kenny Rodgers named "The Gambler' has helped me out a lot in life. I could have been going through a rough time in my life be it business, relationship or other related. This one phrase has helped me break free of many a bad situation. The problem with most people when it comes to making decisions is that they use their "gut" feelings more then common sense/ brain.
Let's be honest people look at what Shanahan has done to a team that was already a mess. He came in and traded Jason Campbell a starting NFL QB for peanuts. He brought in Donovan Mcnabb to take over as a replacement. He then disrespected Mcnabb by not taking any of his advice. Donovan said he wanted us to sign Brian Westbrook. By the way HOW MANY THIRD DOWNS COULD WE HAVE PICKED UP THIS YEAR WITH WESTBROOK AS A SKIN. Donovan was also pushing for us to sign Terrell Owens. If Donovan could forgive T.O. for the sake of winning. Why could Shanahan not do the same? Why is it that Donovan saw that we needed help in the receiving game and Shanahan did not? You would think if a future Hall Of fame QB asked for multiple offensive weapons we would have made sure we signed at least one. This was his first time disrespecting Donovan. I am not even going to mention "Benchgate." Now here we are at benchgate 2.
Where do I start with the Devin Thomas fiasco? He spent so much time devaluing Devin in the media that we could not trade him. He did the same thing with Jason Campbell and Albert Haynesworth. He spends so much time not supporting his players during press conferences that he devalues them. So in the future any player that we plan on getting rid of we will get only crumbs in exchange because Shanahan devalues them in public prior to getting rid of them.
Think about it people Shanahan got rid of JC 17 for peanuts. He has benched our best Defensive lineman (Haynesworth) , Benched or Qb (Mcnabb) and waived our 2nd best WR, Devin Thomas. I am not going to even mention the Larry Johnson and Willie Parker crap. BTW, what took Shanahan so long to realize Larry was washed up? This idiot has made to many mistakes to mention.
Think about how many lies/ half truths this guys has told. What type of player worth anything would want to play for a coach that lies all the time like this. The only FA's we will be getting are ones like Larry Johnson. We will only be able to sign washed up ones. We all now see that Shanahan is no Bill Belichick when it comes to using a player to his strengths. If he were a Belichick then we could get away with signing no name FA's and making chicken salad out of chicken shick. But we have a coach that does not even know how to use players like Albert Haynesworth, Devin Thomas, Donovan Mcnabb, Fred Davis and more to their strengths. Before anyone says anything about us only drafting players and not picking up FA's. NO team wins only with draft picks !!!
So my point with this whole rant is that Shanahan is so stuck in his ways to learn from his mistakes of this year. He will not change his EGO. We all complained about Dan Snyder being so involved with making decisions on this team. It finally seems like he has taken a step back, and now look what we have a Ego Maniac in charge !!
LJP says " You've got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away, and know when to run, you never count your money, while sitting at the table, their will be time to do the counting, when the dealings done.
I think it is now time for us to fold our cards and walk away. I think it is time for us all to accept that we need a new hand. (coach)
Thank You !! Kenny Rodgers for the advice !! Lets see if Dan Snyder will take it and get rid of Mike "B. H." Shanahan !!
Donovan Mcnabb being a punk azz has cost us several games So says " LJP."
I have done a post in the past about Donovan Mcnabb being a punk and it looks like nothing has changed. I will not beat a dead horse to death about the benching. My man concern is with Shanahans judgement when it comes to player personnel. We are only a player or two away from winning a lot of games. Think about it we lost two games by only three points. We are a real deep threat at wide receiver away. I know some of you think Anthony Armstrong is the next coming of Jerry Rice. (LOL) Lets get real people Anthony Armstrong is at best a barely average receiver at this point. I know some of you will say that "LJP" is wrong AA is a stud. I say he is one of the reasons for Donovan being sacked so many times. Why you ask does "LJP" think this? It is simple. Mcnabb has no confidence in Armstrong to be where he is supposed to be. In Philly Mcnabb could just throw the ball deep and Desean Jackson would go get it normally. Donovann does not have this same trait in AA. Armstrong has issues with the fundamentals of being a wide receiver. He runs average at best routes. He has trouble keeping his body between himself and the DB. He has trouble adjusting/ finding the ball when it is in the air. He has below average hands. IE just about every pass thrown to him he bobbles. Unless AA has improved since the bye week or we find another WR /TE to get involved in the passing game we are in trouble.
This receiver issue would have been solved if we would have picked up TERRELL OWENS. By the way "LJP" did ask for this to happen. I think TO has had a decent year? LOL ( 55 receptions 770 yds, 7 tds) If Donovan Mcnabb were not a Punk Azz then maybe Shanahan would have listened to him and brought in TO like Donovan asked. He actually made a public plea for TO and was dissed by Shanahan. Shanahan is a bully and he knew that he could bully Donovan based on how Andy Reid bullied Donovan in Philly. Like I said earlier we lost 2 games by only 3 points. Don't you think if we had TO we would have been able to make up that point difference?
(By the way on a side note) JACOBY FORD IS A FOOTBALL PLAYER NOT JUST A TRACK STAR !!
Like I posted months ago Jacoby will be a star. If any of you actually watched the NFL combine like I did. You would have noticed who stood out. He was the best WR by far overall not just running, but also hands and route running. It was amazing watching him accelerate out of his breaks compared to the other receivers. His height is the only reason he went so late. By the way we could have picked him up in the 4th round. I know we would have missed out on Perry Riley but Ford>Riley !!!
Until we get a true deep threat this style of offense will not live up to its potential. We don't have a Andre Johnson like Kyle had in Houston. A true deep threat is a key to Kyle's offense and why he did not see this I don't know. I guess he thought he had the power to turn bums into great receivers like his dad did with certain RB's while in Denver. I guess arrogance and big Egos is a Shanahan family trait ??
Liar, Liar, Shanahans pants are on fire. So says, " LJP !! "
Where should I start ? Are some of you Shanahan homers now seeing the light. This guy is a habitual liar with a huge EGO !!! This guy has spent so much time being a bully that he is forgetting about winning. His ego and trying to proof a point has caused us to struggle more than we should have. How many lies did Shanahan make up about Albert? Look at how well Haynesworth is playing now that Shanahan is playing Albert to his talents. To say that Devin Thomas is not better than Anthony Armstrong was a joke. By the way didn't Shanahan lie to Devin about not trying to trade him and then waived him 2 days later? Now he lied to the whole Redskins nation about why he benched Mcnabb. If Mcnabb does not know the two minute offense maybe it should be simplified. Why not make the offense more Mcnabb friendly if need be? But to say that Rex could run our 2 minute drill with the way the o-line was not blocking. LOL This was typical Shanny BS. Mike "B. H." Shanahan is more concerned with being right,or proving a point then winning.
Like a Cow, Mike Shanahan is fattening Chris Cooley up for the market..
We all know how shrewd Mike "BH" Shanahan is. Just try and use a little foresight on this one. What if the reason Fred Davis is not getting a lot of looks on offense is because Cooley is future trade bait ? (Hmm) We can all agree on one thing Cooley has been a good player. Can anyone not say that Cooley is not what he was before his injury? Maybe LJP is wrong and Cooley has not lost a step or two, but it sure looks like it. We all saw what Fred Davis can do when given a chance. Davis is a big play TE/ future pro-bowler. I say if we can win without using Fred Davis that might be a better deal for the team. Just think if we play Davis and he out plays Cooley. This would devalue Cooley and mean that we would have to re-sign Fred Davis to a larger contract. Fred Davis is being devalued and he will be asking for a new contract next year. How much can Davis expect to sign for if he does not even get a chance to ball out? What if Davis not playing is only about "dollars and cents"??
Fattening Chris Cooley up for the trade, and devaluing Fred Davis before we resign him. (Pretty Shrewd HMM)
By the way according to Fred Davis in his Washington Post article Cooley is playing more because he is being paid more. ( maybe, maybe not )
Devin Thomas release more proof of Shanahan's big ego !!! So says, "LJP"
I have great news for you guys !! It is Diner time and I am going to give you guys a little "food for thought". I have now done what many have tried to do, but none have been able to do. Go ahead and say it, "Yea right, LJP !!" I have done the unthinkable. I have figured out what makes MIke " Baby H @#$er " Shanahan tick !! This guy would rather have players that are reclamation projects. He has a major issue with players that are ready to go. He loves being able to show how great a coach he is. Look at what he did in Denver. He brought in a guy out of the Marines and made him a solid RB (Mike Anderson). For example, who is Anthony Armstrong ? He is a guy that has played in multiple alphabet soup named leagues (IFL, BFL, AFL, DFL, etc etc etc) . Anthony Armstrong might have potential. Can anyone say that it is any greater than Devin's? That does not matter to our coach. Anthony Armstong having a solid career makes for a better story then Devin's. Think about it, we now have a team full of reclamation projects. Mike Shanahans goal in life is to prove his "genius" by turning "bums" into "ballers". Think about how much better those Denver teams could have been if they had a star at RB like Terrell Davis instead of guys off the street. So even if Armstrong becomes a solid player for the skins. Who had the potential to be the better player for the skins? I think most on here would say, "Devin Thomas". Ok, fellas and fellete (DCO) diner has been served make sure you clean up after yourselves and don't leave your plates on the table.
WE WILL BEAT THE COLTS " so says LJP !!!
I will keep this post short and to the point. We will beat the Colts and these are some reasons why. We now have a running game. (IE Ryan Torain) If I am not mistaken the Colts have a horrible run defense. ( Duh ) You can take this to the bank. Torain will have over 100 yds and 2 td's against the Colts. I will give Baby Hitle, Opps I mean BH credit he is not afraid of some change. The biggest change he made on defense was starting Alexander at DE. He made some great plays and did very well in pass coverage. Brandon Banks was a big change for us on punt returns. We all watched Anthony Armstrong get manhandled by the DB on the one slant play to him. If and when we play Devin Thomas this will not happen. It is sad when you need to run a clear out route with the slot receiver in order to get the ball on a inside slant to your outside receiver. This is proof that we do not trust our soft receivers to run a slant and catch the ball in traffic. This is were we need to use our biggest receiver Devin Thomas at. He will eat up the smaller Db's on a quick slant. On a side note when will Haynesworth stop running himself out of the play. He has been the cause of most of the big running plays up the middle. If you notice teams are allowing Albert to charge up field. They seal him off and run the ball right behind him.
Mike "Baby Hitler " Shanahan has never met Allen Iverson ?? So says "LJP" !!
I am beginning to think that the man formerly known as Coach Mike Shanahan, now Baby Hitler is a ego maniac. It amazes me sometimes what this guy says. He is now saying that Devin Thomas will get playing time when he out practices the other receivers. What are these other receivers doing in practice ? Just because you are a hero in practice doesn't mean you will be one come game time, obviously. This fool is keeping one of our best offensive weapons / athlete off the field for what ? This guy (Devin Thomas) has the ability to take it to the end zone any time he gets the ball in the open field. Just think about how many receptions he would of had last year if Jason Campbell would have been able to keep some of his side line passes in play. This guy aggressively attacks every ball thrown his way.
I am curious does anyone on HH have Allen Iverson's Telephone number? If one of you guys does have it, please forward it to Mike " Baby Hitler" Shanahan. I think that it would be nice for him to talk to Allen Iverson and get his opinion on practice.( LOL) This guy was one of basketballs all time greats, and I think we all know what he thought about practice.
By the way, I am a Baby Hitler supporter he just needs to understand you can't discipline everyone the same way. It is human nature for people to respond differently to the same discipline or punishment. If he has not figured this out yet then we are in for a long season. From the Albert Haynesworth fiasco, to this Devin Thomas issue "OUR Coach" needs to stop being so petty.
Another by the way, before I get the how dare you mention Hitler in a comparison to " OUR COACH ". I know Hitler was a CRUEL, MASS MURDERING, EVIL, ETC. ETC. ETC. ETC. ETC. ETC. ETC. to infinity person.
HMMMMM....??? ( as I twiddle my thumbs thinking about my last statement ) Did I just throw read meat to a pack of hungry wolves ? LOL
For those of you that are lucky enough to be going to the game how about making a sign that says "Play Devin Thomas " Your Name Says So !! Maybe " OUR COACH " will get the message.
For those of you that would like to know what Allen Iverson thinks about practice the Video address is below.

Chris Cooley Top Jersey Seller, Not Tight End on Skins !!! "So says LJP "
I guess after my last post some (not all) of you have your panties in a bunch. LOL What is going on with this Fred Davis is no longer a weapon on offense thing? Maybe some of you guys have forgot but all he does is catch TD's in the redzone. At this point in time we should start featuring players that give us the best chance to win. That player is not Chris Cooley, but Fred Davis. Isn't Fred Davis bigger, faster and stronger than Chris Cooley. Look at what D Mac did with Brent Celek last year. I would also say Fred Davis has hands that are similar to Chris Cooley, but he is a bigger target than Cooley. I am curious are we treating Cooley like a baby because he complained about not wanting to leave the field this year? Maybe we are babying him because he is a top Jersey seller ? I assume I am not the only one that read the article about Chris Cooley being the only skilled position player ( besides D Mac) on our offense to play every snap against the Texans. If we plan on winning should we not use our best offensive weapons, isn't Fred Davis one of them ??
Donovan Mcnabb Is A Punk !!! So Says LJP .....
I think "Iron Mike" Shanahan has put us all on notice that this is his team (IE Albert Haynesworth fiasco). From my understanding D Mac is the leader on the field and locker room for the Redskins. Can anyone tell me when will he start leading ? Is he blind, or does he not notice that the most dynamic player on our offense is not even featured in the offensive game plan? Take a guess who I am talking about ? (Tic- Toc, Tic- Toc) This "Dynamic Player" is bigger, stronger, faster and more aggressive then most defenders that he faces. This player is the one and only DEVIN THOMAS !!! Is Mike Shanahan or Donovan Mcnabb not watching how this guy attacks defenders and breaks tackles when he gets the ball on kick off returns? Why are we not making it a part of our game plan to get the ball to DEVIN THOMAS on short passes or screens ? Who cares how he practices? I know he looks like a man possessed on kick off returns. He must be a part of our game plan in order for us to be the best team possible. He is averaging almost 30 yards a Kick Return, but he has no value on our offense ?? (This is ridiculous)
Is it just "LJP" or do you guys think Mcnabb is bitting his tongue and kissing azz in order to get a big contract? Donovan Mcnabb please stop "punking out " and speak up. You need to make it known that you want Devin Thomas including in the game plan IE short screens / passes etc. Speak up D Mac as the QB and the leader of the team that is your job. Just in case Donovan Mcnabb happens to read this, I will leave him with a little hint.( LOL)
W. W. P. M. D. / What Would Peyton Manning Do ?
Rumor has it, Brian Westbrook is being bribed by Mike Shanahan
News flash, for those of you that don't know from time to time LJP gets a scoop from his reliable source. My reliable source has informed me that Brian Westbrook is trying to work out a deal, for the Redskins to keep his brother if he signs with us. Most people have assumed that Byron would be cut this off season, since he is a bottom feeder at DB.
This is what I would call true "brotherly love" helping your brother stay gainfully employed in the NFL. I could be wrong and this "conspiracy theory" is just that, a theory. What do you guys think ? Is my reliable source actually way off on this one? At what cost should we keep a under performing DB (Byron) in order to sign his brother (Brian)
By the way I would love to have Brian if he is healthy. I think by bringing him in, our Rb's will need to work even harder to earn a spot. I am starting to like this competition thing going on at Redskins Park.
Good bye Sanatana Moss, hello Brandon Marshall (lite)
Believe it or not people, we have received great news in Redskins Nation. The news that Santana was using HGH will turn out to be a net positive. I know like normal, some of you will say that "LJP" is out of his F- - king mind. Hey that is Ok, because I am "LJP" so we all know that I am normally right. (LOL) Santana in the past has been a prima donna. This status has lead to the slower development of our Brandon Marshall (lite) and also JC 17 forcing some throws.
Let me repeat this for the umptenth time Devin Thomas/ Brandon Marshall (lite) is our best WR. This guy is similar in speed to Moss at this point in his career. He is bigger stronger and more aggressive then Moss. If you compare Devin to Marshall. Devin is faster, it takes two to tackle Devin and maybe three for Marshall. They are both big Devin 6'2 220 and Marshall 6'4 230. Devin and Marshall have one main thing in common they are very aggressive when they have the ball in their hands. This is something that you either have, or you don't.
This being said, I still hope one of one of our 4.3 guys Joey G or Terrance Austin can step up and stretch the field. Devin Thomas is a 4.4 guy. I know some of you don't think this matters but it does. This can be the difference of 5 yds or more on a deep pass. This lack of top speed is the reason Santana is no longer a true deep threat and top receiver in the league. I say goodbye and good riddance to Santana Moss, hello Devin Thomas AKA Brandon Marshall (lite). Sometimes when making fresh OJ or lemonade you need to stop squeezing and throw away the rind. I think we have squeezed Santana enough, lets deal him to another team. I would rather them being disappointed with that one last drop of juice left then us.
Stupid is, as stupid does, so said "Forest Gump" and "LJP"
I have noticed recently that we have developed a problem here in Redskins Nation. I am not sure if it is due to the water, air or something else that some of you guys are taking in. What in the heck or some of you, well a lot of you thinking about ? All of this talk about getting rid of Albert is insane. Maybe I have been watching a different Redskin team then everyone else? I have been a Skins fan for over 30 years. I would say that Albert, when healthy is the most dominate def lineman, that we have had in that time frame. He commands double, and triple teams all game long. He also has that fear factor when on the field. It is nice having a player on your team that other players fear, and respect. Maybe some of you guys forgot when Deangelo Hall was being slung around like a wet rag. Haynesworth single handily went on the other teams sideline and punked down the whole team. He was like Superman to the Rescue, while the rest of the Redskins (including Landry) stood around like Loius Lane.
I know we need a safety but to trade Superman (Al) for Captain America (Atogwhe) and a guess (draft pick) is stupid. By the way for those that talk about locker room chemistry, dominate Defensive linemen make their own chemistry. It only takes other players to watch how he dominates people in practice, and they will be awe struck. Then we can throw all of this crazy talk out the window. With Shanahan, Al is one of the very few players that all rules will not apply to. So guys please have your water and air checked out in your neighborhoods. We need to get off this stupid trade Al talk. I am interested in wining games, not which players have hurt feelings over Al not being at mini camp. So, I say give the players that are complaining a box of Kleenex. For those of you that keep crying about it, send me your address and I will mail you a box as well.
LJP, has spoken ( I am back) LOL
Kool- Aid is not just " for kids" it's for Washington Redskins as well.
I normally don't take the time to respond, to a response of a fan post of mine. I will make this an exception to the rule. We all know about the power of the Shanahan zone blocking scheme. For those of you that don't, let me give you some numbers that this scheme helped produce. 95 T. Davis 1,117 yds, 96 T.D. 1,538 yds, 97 T.D. 1,538 yds,
98 T.D. 2,008 yds, 99 Olandis Gary 1,159 yds, 00 Mike Anderson 1,487 yds, 01 T. D. 701 yds 8 games played,
02 C. Portis 1,508 yds, 03 CP 1,591 yds, 04 Reuben Droughns 1,240 yds, 05 Mike Anderson 1,014 yds and Tatum Bell 921 yds, 06 Tatum Bell 1,025 yds, 07 Selvin Young 729 yds, 08 Peyton Hillis 343 yds, This is a average of 1,229 yards per season for the primary RB, even with the two bad years in 07 and 08. Compare Dallas 1,121 yds per season avg and Washington 1,171 yds per season avg for the primary RB on both teams, during the same time period. For most people that know a thing or two about football, we understand the value of a good position coach. We have a few starting with RB coach Bobby Turner. This guy has been coaching Rb's since 1975 at the college level and had been with the Broncos since 1995. So how many other Rb coach's have this kind of experience? What is the NFC known for running the ball and defense. It looks like our running game is covered.
Now lets take a look at our Defense. Jim Haslett is the D coordinator and some say he is average at best. Lets take a look at what he is working with. If you take a look at our Db's, if used properly we are good. The only question is the Free Safety position. We all know that Carlos is a solid cover corner if used properly and D. Hall is a interception machine when the Qb is under pressure. How will we provide more pressure on the Qb this year. How do the Steelers do it, year in and out? They do it by bringing Linebackers from everywhere. I have already talked about Lou Spanos, the former long time asst linebacker coach for the Steelers who is now with the Redskins. Maybe he will turn Orakpo into the James Harrison of two years ago? How about Chad Brown ? Maybe the next Greg Lloyd? Who knows I just know that Spanos was part of the Steeler Lb dynasty for the past 15 years. Who is to say that we can't have the same Lb dynasty in Washington?
Now lets go back to the Offensive side of the ball our OC is little Shanahan (Kyle) . We all know that the passing game of Houston was great last year. Matt Schaub only lead the league in passing with 4,770 yds. Before you say it, I know we don't have Andre Johnson. But we do have Santana, Cooley, Fred Davis, Devin Thomas, Malcolm Kelly, and Dennis Morris, out of the backfield to catch passes and Mcnabb to throw them. I would take our total receiving targets over Houstons. Now if we add our running game (Portis, Parker, L. Johnson, and Torain) in addition to the ZB Scheme we are better than average. We will be able to run. So we will also be able to pass thanks to the ZB scheme of Shanahan. It makes average O linemen look good, to at least proficient. By the way I did not forget Keenan Mccardell our new receivers coach. I would say after spending 17 years in the NFL, he knows a thing or two about receiving. So maybe some of you think that a good position coach does not matter? If you do, you are wrong. So to compare our coaching staff to others in the NFC is hilarious. Take a look at Andy Reed his days are numbered. The eagles Defense under Jimmy Johnson, and Donovan Mccnabb on Offense made that team a winner year in and out. Now one is dead, and the other is a Redskin. The key to winning and loosing in the NFL or any league is not just the head coach but the assistants as well. To say that we don't have some of the best is pure ignorance.
Now back to Kool- Aid drinking, any one ingredient in it by itself would not taste that well. But with all of them mixed together, it turns out to be a good drink. This kind of reminds me of our team. We might not have the very best player at any one position, but we have some good to decent players at most. Mix these players with the Good to solid coaches, and assistant coaches and we have a mighty tasty glass of Kool- Aid. For those that say their glass is half empty, mine is half full. I would be willing to fill yours up, as well as mine. Get in line and pick your favorite flavor, I am ready to pour.
For those that did not get the reference of Kool- Aid not just being for kids (Watch the Video Below ) .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe3Ms2ChVQM
IT's the Coaching Stupid, so says LJP.
Let me start by saying, I am talking to the people that need to drink some cool-aid. Do you guys that keep talking about this 2-3 year plan realize our time is now? It all starts on the sidelines with coaching. Maybe some of you guys have not noticed, but we have some outstanding coaches. Does the name Bobby Turner ring a bell? He was the running back coach for the broncos from 1995- 2009. He only turned multiple average Rb's into 1,000 yd rushers. He is now the RB coach for the Washington Redskins. With the talent that we have at RB, He will have a field day with these guys. Besides the guys that everyone keeps talking about being old, we do have a young RB that will be competing for PT, his name is Ryan Torain.
How about the name Lou Spanos? Does that name sound familiar to any of you? He was a asst Linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was only with the Steelers for 16 yrs.( LOL ) He is now the LB coach for the Washington Redskins. I think he might know a thing, or two about linebackers coming from there.
Keenan Mccardell Hmm.. we all know that name, I hope. He only played WR in the NFL at a high level for the better part of 16 years. Do you think he might know a little something about being a NFL- WR ? He is now the receivers coach for the Washington Redskins.
I guess their is no reason to mention Kyle or Mike we already know about them. My point with this post was to open some minds a little. Look at how dysfunctional our coaching staff was last year. We had a head coach that should not be a head coach of a High School team. Jim Zoron The Moron" was a good QB coach that is all. We now have a head coach that means what he says, and says, what he means. For all of you naysayers, LJP predicts that we will at least be a wild card team this year. I honestly think we will go to the NFC championship at best. Hold up, I will be right back, bathroom break I have been drinking too much cool-aid.
However this season goes, thank you for the change in attitude in Washington "Iron" Mike Shanahan.
What do Trent Williams, Gerald Mccoy and Sam Bradford have in common ??
I know a lot of you are going to say this one is easy, same college. That would be the wrong answer. The correct answer is, upper body issues. I will make this post quick. The strength and conditioning coach at Oklahoma needs his azz whooped. Lets start with Trent Williams super stud college tackle that only does 23 reps of 225lbs. How many reps do you think stud D-tackle Gerald Mccoy does of 225 lbs? The answer would also be 23 reps of 225lbs. I know some of you might not get this, but that is pizz poor for playing those positions in the NFL. Unless Gerald Mccoy improves his upper body strength dramatically, he can not play in the trenches. Now lets take a look at Sam Bradford. This guy had a serious shoulder injury on a not so serious hit. What does LJP take from all of this? I would look at this as the strength and conditioning coach not doing his job. He needs to make sure his players do more upper body strengthening exercises.
How does this effect the Redskins you might say? This is pretty simple, Trent William with sufficient upper body strength will play left tackle, without he is a right tackle or guard. So unless he is working out with the Texas guy Orakpo, he will not have a shot at LT for us this year. For example look at Texas, their players look like they all or on steroids from their conditioning program/ coach.
Chris Cooley is " The Man" so says LJP..
I know a lot of you that love Chris Cooley more then you do the Redskins, will disagree with this post. I for one am not against supporting a particular player on a team. But to what extend should you support the guy, is the question? I have several questions for you guys.
- Do we not still have some holes that need addressing?
- What player if healthy has the most trade value, that we have a backup for?
- How can Shanahan trade this guy if he is our most consistent receiver?
- What player did Shanahan trade that was a superstar at the time of his trade?
- Did Shanahan trade him because he thought the trade gave him a better chance to win?
- Would Shanahan trade this player if it gave us a better chance to win?
I think these are somethings that we should all think about before we say any player is untradeable
To answer the questions yes we need help. Chris Cooley is our most tradeable player if healthy. Fred Davis will give Cooley a run for his money and Dennis Morris will be involved in the offense from day one, look for the praises from training camp to start. Have we forget that Shanahan traded Clinton Portis after two years in Denver. By the way Clintons stats were 2002 1,508 yds, 15 td's / 2003 1,591 14 td's. So if Shanahan thinks we have enough young talent to replace that player ( Chris Cooley) he will do it, if the trade is right.
By the way I would prefer to trade Santana, but he does not have Cooley's value. We can only keep so many pass catching TE's and TE's in general. Fred Davis is making chump change compared to Cooley. So if Fred Davis has an even better year, he will expect to renegotiate his contract before it ends in 2012. So we will loose Fred Davis or Chris Cooley anyway next year.
I think these are somethings that we should all think about, before we say any player is untradeable. If CP was sent packing in Denver, who know's about Cooley in Washington? It might not be as crazy as some of you think. By the way my "man crush" is on Dennis Morris, if you have not noticed. LOL
So yes Chris Cooley is "The Man" to be traded so says " LJP. "
For does of you that think this is such a far fetched idea READ THIS ARTICLE BY RICH TANDLER from the redskins on website. Here is the link. http://www.csnwashington.com/pages/landing_redskins/?blockID=222983&feedID=2993
Jason Campbell and the next Desean Jackson aka Jacoby Ford.
Jason Campbell will have a great year. He is finally on a team that will appreciate him. He finally has a real true deep threat. We all know that JC 17 has a cannon for a arm. Now that he is on a team that does not mind attempting more then one or two deep passes a game. We will watch his TD's go up. Jacoby Ford is a stud who can do a lot. He is more then just a track guy playing football. Ford is a football player who also ran track. They now have the fastest receiver (Jacoby Ford) as well as one of the fastest receivers Darius H Bey in the NFL . This team has the fastest receiving corp in the NFL, and he will have a lot of open targets to throw to. I almost forgot about Louis Murphy as well, he is a speedster. These guys got open a lot last year. Jemarcus Russell just could not get them the ball. I would say last year, Santana Moss has lost his ability to get separation from anyone. Jason now has guys that can and will run away from any DB in the league. You can only double cover so many people at one time. By the way for those of you that want to know, the Oakland Raider are now my second favorite team. Lets go silver and black .. Real Men Wear Black LOL besides when they are wearing B-N -G
The video below is of Jacoby Ford, Jason Campbells new real deep threat, unlike Santana " I lost a step or two" Moss.
Dennis Morris was a great pick, Thank you Bruce and Shanahan !!! LJP
I am curious, why are you guys bitching and moaning. This was a great pick, this guy was a steal. He is no Joshua Cribbs. LOL But when it comes to versatility from a larger guy he is it. He can line up from a lot of positions, and did in college. He lined up at WR, TE and FB. He is a solid blocker who is aggressive. He does not float to his block like Sellers does. He gets on his block and stays. He is fast for his size and very athletic. He has good hands once he gets his route running up he will be the best all around TE/FB/ HB that we have. If he can get his route running up he will be better then Cooley. He already is a better blocker then Coooley and is a lot faster. By the way is this a sign of things to come. Can anyone say trade ??
This next video is amazing it shows just what type of player this guy is. (Thanks SS Blitz for pointing out this video.)
I know you guys love Chris Cooley but damn this guy is a stud !!!!! MUST WATCH VIDEO BELOW !!!!

Why LJP WAS WRONG ABOUT TIM TEBOW BEING A NFL QB .
The reason I am changing my mind about Tim " the quarterback jesus" Tebow is he is not a normal football player. He is very, very, very special. By the way I am not saying this, just because he can leap tall buildings, in a single bound like Superman. Have you guys not noticed who all his supporters are? From John Gruden, the media, to the NFL he is being groomed for success. He is a meal ticket for some ( NFL, Denver Broncos), while he is a ego ticket for others (John " the QB guru" Gruden). With Gruden in his corner screaming and yelling about how great Tebow is, he will not be allowed to fail. If he fails then Gruden looks like a failure. If Tebow fails then the Denver Broncos, Tebow Jersey and ticket sells will collapse. If Tebow fails the NFL will loose millions. He will be given every opportunity, and some to become the next Joe Montana. He is being groomed to be the face not only of the Broncos but of the NFL. Last but not least he has the Christian conservative movement behind him. Did anyone not see Tebow on the front of the USA today, with the Crosses behind him a couple of days ago? LOL
This guy is the Gerry Cooney of the NFL. For those of you that have no idea who Cooney was, I will tell you. He was a boxer that was given to many chances to become the Heavy weight Champ. Cooney was horrible but he was known as "the great white hope". So hence he received a lot more press and chances in boxing then he should have received. Now the story repeats itself with Tim Tebow. He is not nearly the second best QB in the draft let alone the second best white one. But he has the best story, look, and media image to draw certain groups of people into spending money on him. He is a media and marketing bonanza for anyone connected to him. But Tim Tebow will be a success in the NFL, because he will be given more chances to succeed. then even ElI Manning. I wonder how the other QB's that are a lot better then Tim Tebow (Jim Clausen) feel about being Tebowed.
I know after reading this some of you will say "LJP " is out of his mind. Hey that is ok, LJP is not afraid to voice his opinion and in this case how can anyone say that I am wrong? By the way, Tim Tebow will be in political office in the next 20 years, unless he really does get caught sleeping with a prostitute. For those of you that have no idea about my last comment regarding Tim Tebow and a prostitute here is a link to the blog that this references. http://www.hogshaven.com/2010/3/19/1381034/tim-tebow-caught-having-sex-with-a
LEFT TACKLE WANTED, BAD HANDS NEED NOT APPLY : ( this means you RUSSELL OKUNG )
I know some of you are think what the hell is LJP talking about. Well you guys know how persistent I am, when trying to make a point. I still say Okung is overrated and I have more proof. For those of you that are not as technical when it comes to O or D line play please be patient. (carver I am not talking about you of course). I know I posted some reasons why I thought Okung was overrated on a fan post back in January but here is a real good one. If you watch any footage of Okung it always shows him using piss poor hand technique when blocking. I was starting to think that I was the only one noticing this but maybe not since Trent Williams is now getting some good press. I was starting to think after the Tim Tebow mess that college coaches could care less what tecnique a player uses as long as they get the job done.
This one major flaw (bad hands) as well as the other ones I described in the past, is why Okung is suspect. If you watch the video of Okung below, or go find your own. You will notice that he very seldomly places a hand inside the pads ( chest plate ) of the defender. He always places his hands on the outside of the shoulder pads. This is horrible technique. Okung never even has one hand on the chest plate of the defender. If he thinks he can do this in the NFL he is wrong. He can get away with this in college because he is bigger and stronger then most d- linemen. If he does this in the NFL he will get drove back into the qb and backfield. For proof go look at video of a real Stud like Ryan Clady he has great hands. You will never see him do this. If you watch any video of Trent Williams you will also notice he uses his hands very well. Their are so many flaws in Okungs game that he makes up for by being so much bigger and stronger then the defenders. Who ever drafts him will be in for a big surprise.
I am really starting to think that some of these NFL scouts don't actually think for themselves. It looks like you get a lot of people repeating what a few people think about a particular player. HMMMM this sounds familuar kind of like Hogs haven. LOL

How The Washington Redskins, Cost NFL Players Millions Of Dollars?
I know that some of you might not agree with this but that is OK. But, lets take a moment and look at the market for players. I assume that we all have noticed how the overwhelming majority of trades being made are for pennies on the dollar. For example Brandon Marshall for 2nd rd 2010 and 2nd in 2011, A. Cromartie 3rd rd, S. Holmes 5th rd, D Mcnabb 2nd rd 2010 and 2nd 2011. Why is this you might ask? Is it because of the uncapped year ? In my humble opinion I say yes, and no. It originally looked as if this was going to be a sellers market. A lot of people thought since it was a uncapped year teams would pay anything to get the player they wanted. Some teams thought by placing high tenders on Restricted Free Agent's in a uncapped year that teams would pay or do anything for the player of their dreams. If it had not been for the uncapped year, a lot of these guys would have been Unrestricted Free agents and been able to make Millions on long term contracts
The problem that teams did not account for is the fact that the Redskins have a new VP/ coach named Mike Shanahan. If we would have done business as usual we would have started off over paying for some big name FA . Since the Redskins are the market bearer. The market is now set pretty low, it is definitely a buyers market. So in my humble opinion, we have now cost players throughout the league millions of dollars. In the recent past we have been the New York Yankees of football, but without all the world Championships/ Super Bowls.
Jared Gaither, Washington Redskins next Left Tackle?
Most people on HH by now know that I am a fan of Trent Williams over Russell Okung. But lets take a moment and think about what would be best for the Redskins. We all know that we are lacking in the draft pick category. Once again in LJP's humble opinion, it might not be a bad idea to trade down to later in the 1st rd. Maybe by doing this we could pick up a 1st and 4th or either 5th. We could then trade our 1st rd pick to Baltimore for Jared Gaither. He is a known commodity and is only 24 years old. I know some think that Okung will be a stud, and a few like myself prefer Trent W. But what would make us better from day one/ game one? (Okung, Williams or Gaither) All rookies go through a learning curve but with J. Gaither this would not be a issue.
So for those of you that think that this might not be a bad idea, can we discuss how we can make this happen? We now see that Bruce Allen is not against trading down for picks.
Why all Zone Blocking is not equal, ask Mike Shanahan but don't tell Joe Bugel ?
I know that most of us Redskin fans would be in agreement that our O-line was horrible last year. But take a minute to think about this. What if our O-line was actually better then we thought, but just not used properly ? I know some of you that think Joe Bugel was the next best thing to "sliced bread" will disagree. Let me preface this by saying that I agree that Joe B was a great coach at one time. The only thing was that his time had come and gone. By the way we also " zone blocked" under Bugel. Now with the new regime in town we have a True " Zone Blocking" genius in Mike Shanahan. This can be supported by all the no name backs that have had success in his system.
Can any of us say that our O-line under Buges had a reputation of being anything other then soft. ( I am talking about recent history not pre-historic) I would love for our linemen to get the reputation that Shanhans O- linemen had. That reputation was one of doing what it took to make a block (cut blocking etc) Some would say that Denver's Offensive line played dirty. That is fine with me as long as they keep our QB off his back, and open up holes for our running game. How many times did we see Jason have a quick pass knocked down or tipped at the line of scrimmage. With Shanahan as coach this will not happen alot. It is the offensive linemens job to cut the player, that is in the passing lane to keep the ball from being tipped. Shanahan would have torn someone a "new one", as often as this happened last year. Our coaching staff acted as if this was normal. This change in attitude and accepting responsibility and discipline is something that we lacked last year as a team. By the way this has been the sentiment of alot of players interviewed, not just a LJP opinion.
So in my humble opinion, I think that our average linemen will have much more success under Shanahans ZB scheme than we had under Bugels. .
Why Brandon Marshall is worth 50 receivers, and youth is sometimes overrated ...
OK, KevinE I am going to dedicate this one to you. I know you are a big advocate of the youth movement. I agree we do need to get younger. But youth, for youth's sake is just as crazy as trading for only washed up has been like we have done in the past. I think we would agree that Art Monk was the all time greatest Redskin Wide Receiver. How many years ago was that 16 or more? Can you tell me how many receivers we have brought in since then 50, 75, 100, maybe more tried out ? Why should we not have picked up Brandon Marshall who is young (26) and one of the top three receivers? Can anyone say that he would not, given his production the last three years automatically became our # 2 all time great behind Art Monk ? If he can stay healthy he will be a Hall Of fame guy as well. So when you scream we need to get younger I agree, but at what cost?
By the way I agree KevinE we do not need to pick up any new receivers. But I did not think we needed to pick up a new QB either. But if we can upgrade, and it is a guarantee we should go for it. Brandon Marshall would have been a big upgrade for us.
Hey, Hogs Haven Do you Have A Kitchen Sink I Can Borrow ? Thanks "LJP"..
I was doing some thinking the past few days about something that was bothering me a little bit. I was thinking about going to the hardware store (home depot) and buying a kitchen sink. I am not talking about just any old ordinary sink but one with 24 k gold plated hardware and imported marble from Italy. I had a problem with the sales associate, he told me they don't sell any sinks that expensive. He asked me how many millions was my house worth. I told him that it was not worth millions, but the reason I needed the sink was worth multiple millions of dollars.
I finally broke down and told the guy the reason I needed the sink. I explained how I am a Redskins fan, and that I would like to send it to our new coach MIke Shanahan. The look on this guys face was priceless. It was worth at least a couple of LOL's , a high and low five, fist pound, Icky Woods Shuffle and a Charlie Brown / Art Monk and the fun bunch end zone celebration.
For those of you that don't know, I have been known for wanting to throw in the kitchen sink for a player or two. I am now willing to throw in a sink for the services of Brandon " The Ultimate Weapon" Marshall. This in ( LJP's ) humble opinion, will give us possibly the best receiving core (including TE's) in the NFL . From the looks of things B Marshall will be moved in the next week. Don't you guys agree that he would look great in burgundy and gold ?
Would it not be a neat idea, if we all mailed kitchen sinks to Dan Snyder with a note attached explaining "this sink for B Marshall"? You can find old used sinks for next to nothing at old salvage warehouses. If we did this with all the members of the other SB Nation Redskins blog sites, imagine how many would end up at Redskins Park. LOL
( OK KEVIN E. GET TOGETHER WITH THE OTHER SITE ADMINS AND MAKE IT HAPPEN ) by the way since Dan Snyder is a big marketing guy it might work. This definitely would get his attention.
Albert Haynesworth deserves a trade, so stop hating..
To start off I like Haynesworth, and I would love to keep him. But can any of you guys tell me if you were told your job description would be one thing and then it switched, would you be happy. This guy told the organization how he wanted to be used and they agreed to do it. But come to find out he was lied to last year. Now he is being lied to again. He came here to play one defensive formation. Now we are switching to a formation that we knew prior to him signing last year he did not want to play, the 3-4 defense. So please explain to me how Haynesworth is wrong for wanting a trade? How is he the head case? It is starting to seem like this organization will lie about anything if the money or deal is right. The prime example of this is how Snyder swindled Lavar out of millions.
Chris Cooley will be traded to the Broncos, (rumor has it).
I got this information from a pretty reliable source yesterday. I was sworn to secrecy , not to divulge this information. I will do all of you HH members a favor and "spill the beans." Chris Cooley and Santana Moss will be traded to the Denver Broncos for Brandon Marshall. This will be almost another Mcnabb type deal. I think this will be another "high fiver" for Shanahan. This trade will be a win for both organizations. The Broncos will have a really good receiving TE and a good receiver. This will allow them to have more weapons on offense. Since we already have a TD catching machine in Fred Davis Cooley is expendable. We would have a unstoppable receiving core with B. Marshall, Devin Thomas, Fred Davis, Malcom Kelly, Marko Mitchell. Get ready Redskins Brandon Marshall is on the way.
LJP ASKS "Why Donovan Mcnabb?"
I would say this was one of, if not the biggest moves we have made in years. It has been amazing reading the comments left by some people about Mcnabb. What does D Mac have to offer us? In my not so humble opinion, he has a lot to offer. This guy has almost single handily won many games for the Eagles. He has also been unappreciated like JC17. He is one of the top 10 QB's of the last 30 years. He is a future H.O.F. guy. So for all of you that criticized Jason for everything from not wining a lot of games late, no super bowl trips, lack of leadership skills, not being able to slide, eating wheat bread instead of white and every other BS reason. Can you say the same about D. Mac? What will some of you JC haters new BS excuses be for hating on D. Mac? I would have preferred keeping JC 17 and giving him some O-line help. This move was better then drafting Clausen or Bradford. We now can look towards the future to draft a QB we like, not just picking up anybody. Wherever JC 17 ends up he will become a star. Jason now has the QB skills to become a great player in this league.
The problem with the Eagles was not D Mac but Andy Reid. Please people ask yourself, who has done more for the Eagles D. Mac or Andy Reid? The death of Jimmy Johnnson was the beginning of the end for Andy Reid in Philly. Because of the Eagles one sided pass only offense, over the years the defense had to carry to large of a load. The Eagles have a coach that has no concept of a running game. This is and will be the downfall of the Eagles until they get rid of Andy Reid.
So unlike some of you that are to bound to your favorite Redskin, I think this was a good move. Will you Chris Cooley fanatics say the same, when he is traded? By the way I am in line for my D. Mac jersey, and will defend him just as well as I did JC 17. So no, LJP has not retired I am still alive and kicking.
Tim Tebow New Redskins Team Mascot / Motivational or Religious Speaker...
I was always told that the "pen is mightier than the sword." Maybe some people have not noticed, but Tim Tebow is living proof of this. He went from being a superstar in college to a potential bust in the NFL. He was bashed by everyone for his horrible throwing motion. Now that he has made some improvements with it, he is a potential 2nd rounder?(LOL) Recently I mentioned how the powers that be/ Media want Tebow to be s success in the NFL. I was toild by several on HH that I was wrong, "look at how many people on HH dislike him." Isn't it strange after the media IE Mel Kiper / Shanahan and others praised him he is now moving up the draft board. Why is it that you have some people like Tim Hasselback and others saying that he is a 4th rd guy but will not slide out of the 2nd round? The great "LJP" will tell you why? Can anyone say code speak? For example does anyone remember Zorn using the term "poor player execution" or "lack of execution?" This was his way of passing the blame for our poor play, and placing it squarely on the players backs. How often did Zorn accept personal responsibility?(never) The funny thing about it, he said it so often that the players started repeating it in every interview. He even had several HH members repeating it on almost a daily basis. Now you ask how does this relate to Tim Tebow? The code speak of the day for Tim Tebow is "INTANGIBLES." How many times have we heard about his "intangibles" in the last few days? ( to many to count ) This code speak is finally starting to find it's way onto HH. It now seems that some on HH now think that Tebow is a serviceable 2nd rounder. Please fellow HH members lets put this to rest by not falling prey to the brainwash that is code speak IE "lack of execution" now Intangibles." For In my humble opinion, Dan L. or Tony "plastic man" Pike are better potential NFL qb's then Tim "mr. intangible" Tebow.
Now lets take a look at Tim Tebows intangibles, and how they relate to the position of QB in the NFL. He has good size (check) , decent speed (check), good strength (check), can receive snap from center (no). strong arm (no), decent accuracy (no), decent throwing motion (no), good footwork (no). Does this sound like a 2nd round qb to you? (no) Tim Tebow is better then most Qb's at two things, but we will get back to those in a moment. How many of you remember the Philly Fanatic or the San Diego Chicken from the 1980's? These two Mascots were great, they received more press on ESPN and signed more autographs and took more pictures with fans then most athletes of the time. I have another question how many of you guys know who Benny Hinn is? For those of you that don't he is a quasi-religious guy / motivational speaker / con-man that can make 40- 50 people fall at one time by raising his hand.
Ok, I will tell you how these two mascots and Benny Hinn relate to Tim Tebow. Tim Tebows best "intangibles" are as 1. Team mascot, he will sign alot of autographs and take a lot of pictures and 2. Motivational or Religious Speaker, He will Rah Rah Ree on the sideline and serve prayer breakfast before each game. To bad he can't raise his hand and make groups of people fall at a time. I say lets use our 2nd round draft pick wisely. By the way we can save money by borrowing The Phillie Fanatic and The San Diego Chicken. I also say lets pay Benny Hinn to come in and stand on the sideline and raise his hand and knock down the opposing Defensive linemen. This will save us a wasted 2nd rd pick and more money.
For proof of the power ( LOL ) of Benny Hinn please watch the video below..
