After over two years of steadily reading and commenting on Clips Nation, Lucas took the next step and volunteered to begin authoring features for the front page. When Clipper Steve gracefully accepted him as the youngest member of the staff, he dove in headfirst.
Lucas hopes to use the advice of the many readers of Clips Nation and the experience provided to him by this website to move forward through high school and into college as a journalist.

Spurs-Thunder Game 3 Thread and Mock Draft Announcements
Use this thread to discuss the Spurs-Thunder game 3 tonight, and if you're participating, check out some Mock Draft announcements after the jump.
Also, league sources say Clippers GM Neil Olshey met with Portland owner Paul Allen in London recently about the Blazers' GM opening.
@KBergCBS
This is bad, folks.
Only Ten Spots Remain For the Mock Draft
Signups have been going great so far, and we only have 10 teams left for users to control in the Clips Nation Community Mock Draft.
When you pick a team, you assume the General Manager position for that franchise from the Draft Lottery to the day of the NBA Draft.
Everyone will select their team before the lotto. This way, you know who to root for in the NBA Lottery.
GMs will be given 10 minutes a pick. I will e-mail you at the start of your 10 minutes, and then again when you have 5 minutes left. You may trade any picks(future or present) or players who are under contract in the mock draft, however all trades must include a pick in the 2012 draft.
The list of remaining teams is after the jump, as well as the list of teams and users who have already signed up.
Clips Nation Community Mock Draft Signups
There are currently 13 10 GM positions left. That's right, only 10 left now! Please sign up as soon as possible to make sure you get the team you want! -LJ
Hey everyone. As we venture into the depths of the off season, the Clips Nation staff's goal is to keep the website fresh with some interactive community events.
The first such activity will be the Community Mock Draft. I got this idea from Gang Green Nation. How does it work? Well, I was just about to tell you.
Clippers 88, Spurs 105: Roll Call
I believe that if Chris Paul was 100%, the Clippers could be up 2-0. At least tied 1-1 going home. But he's not.

Clippers 88, Grizzlies 90: I Saw Blue
I don't care about what you say about the refs. There's been such a backlash towards to ref hate that some people have been blind to it. There's no way around it. It doesn't mean that they have favored the Clippers, but all of the refs we've seen this series should be fired. And tonight has been quite possibly the worst of all. It doesn't mean that they favored one team, but there's one fact I can't get over.
With 24 seconds left in the game, Tony Allen missed two free throws in a row. The Clippers had to rebound, and they would be down only 4, with a chance to end the series. Instead, Randy Foye stepped on the baseline to give the ball back to the Grizzlies. Or so it would seem. Prime Ticket showed the replay. They showed Foye's left foot. And I saw blue. I saw the blue paint of the key in between Randy's foot and the white baseline. I saw blue. And that one ref killed the Clippers' chances. Dan Crawford stood on the baseline and called Randy Foye out of bounds when there was space in between his shoe and the baseline. So, the fix wasn't in. The refs sucked both ways, just like all series. But that single call changed the game. Dan Crawford. Number 43. He forced a game 7.
[Note by Steve Perrin, 05/12/12 12:06 AM PDT ] Sorry, don't really like to do this, but I need to step in on this one. It wasn't Foye's left foot that went out of bounds, it was his right foot. I DVR'd the ESPN broadcast, and haven't seen the replay to which you're referring, but if they zoomed in on his left foot and said "See, he's inbounds!" then they were being disingenuous. This was the correct call. You'll notice Foye didn't argue a bit.
There were some laughably bad calls this way, but Crawford was not the guy making them. Marc Davis (who called the T on Reggie, granted Memphis a timeout when the other ref had a jump ball, and called a foul when Tony Allen traveled) had a real knack for going out of his way to bail out the Grizzlies tonight. But if you get outrebounded 48-32, you usually lose.

My Final Word On Memphis Fans Booing Blake
Hey everyone. I know that this has been the subject of quite some controversy across the blogosphere (am I allowed to say that? Or is it only Steve's word?) and I want to put my two cents in, and let everyone know why it isn't worth the time anymore.
The guys over at Straight Outta Vancouver love having us, and have expressed that, and I don't want to discourage visits. But I ask that if you have something to say regarding how terrible the city of Memphis is and how much you hate the Grizzlies and all their fans, you keep it away from there (and here. Steve has asked me to emphasize that bashing the city of Memphis will not be tolerated in any capacity on Clips Nation). I also ask that when you go over there looking for intelligent discourse, you not get distracted by any Memphis-sided comments on the boo-fest. It's their blog for a reason.
After the jump you will find a modified version of a comment I left on SOV earlier regarding my opinions on this matter.

Grizzlies 92, Clippers 80: The Most Demoralizing Feeling
Chris Paul hurt.
Blake Griffin hurt.
Playoff loss.
What could be worse? I feel so demoralized. Because with just a few minutes left, before CP3 got hurt, I thought we were going to win. I legitimately did. The Clippers were only down 6. Paul had just hit a jumper, and I thought it was another 4th quarter push, and I thought we were going to San Antonio. And then he pulled his groin. And he came out of the game. And that was all she wrote.
Look at it any way you like, and there's one glaring fact that has me scared out of my mind right now:
This team is nothing without Chris Paul.
So there's that. I'll see everyone Friday at 5:15 in the thread as the Clippers try to clipse out the Grizzlies in 6.

Clippers 101, Grizzlies 97: Overtime Victory Gives Clippers 3-1 Lead
What.
A.
Game.
30 for Blake to go with 7 assists. 25, 9, and 7 for CP3 including all the big shots down the stretch. Caron set the tone playing through his broken hand.

Clippers 87, Memphis 86; A Win is a Win, Right?
That was gross. 13-30 free throws. Letting Gay get 3 three pointers off at the end. But we won. So a win is a win. I feel disgusted right now, but that will pass. The Clippers are up 2-1. The Clippers won today. That's all that matters.

Clippers 98, Grizzlies 105- I Don't Know What To Say
The Clippers played well tonight. They did. It wasn't a great game however. And, unless you play your best game, you have a chance to leave the stadium with regrets.
Say what you will about the refs. Say the fix was in. Talk about the fouls and the free throw differential. The fact is that the Clippers turned it over 20 times. They had 9 less rebounds. They allowed 16 offensive boards.
Enough recapy talk. See you on Saturday.

Can Kevin Arnovitz Be Our Next Coach?
Not front paging it because I don't want to cover Steve's new article and it's more about Memphis than the Clippers.
I would be willing to bet that Vinny could learn a thing or two from this column for tomorrow night.

ROUND 1 GAME 1 ROLL CALL: Clippers 99, Grizzlies 98 Basketball Never Stops
I don't know what to say. Remember the 22-0 run against Memphis in November 2009? How about a 42-14 run, IN Memphis, in late APRIL!
I didn't do comment of the night. Too many comments and too much moderation needed made it impossible.
There's alot of negatives, like being down 27, and Caron's finger. But let's deal with that in the morning.
Here's your roll call:
Clippers 93, Knicks 99- Where Would The Clippers Be Without Chris Paul?
I don't know what to say about this one. The Clippers went in without CP3, and played terribly offensively. At the end, while I didn't want to say it during the game, it really felt like every Knick but J.R.Smith was tanking.
The Clippers fate will be decided by the Memphis-Orlando game tomorrow. Don't hold your breath for a miracle.
Clippers 102, Hawks 109
Well, only Blake and CP3 could score, and nobody could rebound, so that's just how it goes. Tomorrow is a new day and a new game.
