Overflow Thread 2: Cubs vs. Dodgers, Tuesday 5/27, 6:05 CT

The overflow thread is getting really slow....... One more inning to go. White Castle worked his way out of that jam. Your FanPost must be at least 75 words long. Right now it's only 21 words long. If you just have a quote, link, video or photo you'd like to share with the community, try creating a FanShot instead. So I need more words... Go Cubs go! Maybe this is enough. Now it is....

Who else is left for Dude to pick up

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7868404/Sources:-Reds-sign-Patterson,-Hairston?CMP=OTC-K9B1408131 62&ATT=49

The Reds are looking to really load up for this season. Is Neifi still available? That would be the crowning touch for this offseason if the Reds can pick him up. Base clogging is against the rules, so these dudes should fit right in. Check out the Red Reporter right now. They are about to go into melt down mode over signing CPatt and Hairston Jr. I almost feel sorry for them.

Girardi's next job?

I was listening to the Braves game on radio last night and heard Pete and Skip make some interesting comments about Joe Girardi. They think that he may have turned down the Baltimore job because it is percieved that Ozzie is about to be fired with the White Sox. If that is the case how bad would it be to see him managing the White Sox (as a Cubs fan)?? I'm not sure if I believe this, but it did get me to thinking...
A- Is Ozzie really next on the firing line and
B- Would Girardi actually take the Sox job? It would get him back home to Chicago.

Cubs to retire Maddux's number?

http://tinyurl.com/ykxbbp

See the last sentence. Is Lilly guessing at this or is this a fact that has not been announced yet? As a Cubs fan who grew up in the 60's I agree with others here who say Fergie Jenkins should have had #31 retired in his name. If Maddux had put up most of his numbers with the Cubs it would be different. I love Maddux but I don't think this would be a good move by the Cubs if it is a fact.
