Chris Kaman discusses Clippers

4

Kaman on Sterling: "I think as he's getting older, he's realizing, 'Hey, I don't know how much time I have left' -- or whatever it is -- 'I'm older.' You can't win in the grave... No, I'm serious. I think he's almost 80 years old. I think he's seeing, 'Hey, I'm getting older, I'm not getting any younger, I want to win,'"

Kevin Arnovitz, Jovan Buha, Chad Ford, Marc Stein and (a seemingly one-eyed) Darius Soriano compare the Lakers and Clippers.

GQ Finds Lakers Fans Worst In NBA

""The focus is sometimes not on the court," coach Phil Jackson has said. "It’s on the people in the crowd." Which explains why eight box suites were recently combined into an offshoot of an abominable nightclub, the Hyde Lounge. After VIPs pass a clipboard gauntlet—at a sports stadium—they can eat $21 nachos at a crocodile-skin bar while waiting for the space to transform into a postbuzzer dance club. When it’s time to leave, a valet will even bring around their bandwagon."

Baron Davis listed as questionable to start 11-game road trip

+

"Davis is currently listed as questionable, but his team is confident he will be available." I hope he is available. We really need some more support at the point, especially with WW in Bakersfield.

Wizards' Wall, Clippers' Griffin named Rookies of the Month

12

No surprises there. "Griffin led all rookies in scoring (26.0 ppg), rebounding (13.4 rpg) and ranked second in assists (4.4 apg). He became only the fourth rookie over the last 20 seasons to average at least 25 points and 10 rebounds in a calendar month."

Griffin's buzz shows in TV, fan numbers

2

Great article about Blake. "If I'm going to see a regular-season game, I'll probably go see the Clippers," Barkley says in tribute to Griffin. "That's worth the price of admission. That's the kind of excitement he's bringing to the table." "His highlights are sick," Lakers forward Ron Artest says. "I hope he dunks on me. Would you buy that poster? I'd buy it and tell him to sign it." "I think he's terrific," the Lakers' Bryant says. "He's everything as advertised," says Malik Allen, a nine-year NBA veteran who plays for the Orlando Magic. "His energy is unbelievable, man. He's strong. He's quick. Plays fearless."

Sports Illustrated: NBA's Greatest Rookies Of All Time

2

SI showing some love for Blake and listing the 'greatest rookies of all time.' "Few players enter the league and dominate from the start, but the handful that do leave lasting impressions. Take, for example, Blake Griffin, who currently leads all rookies in points and rebounds while also stringing together the longest rookie double-double streak since 1968. Even more impressive, Griffin has made Clippers games must-see TV with his highlight dunks and miraculous alley-oops."

Loss to Nuggets leaves a foul taste for Clippers

12

"I experienced Denver playing at home, at its finest," said Clippers rookie Blake Griffin , at his laconic best. "It's tough, man. How many free throws did they shoot?" Reporters, in unison: "Fifty-nine." Chris Kaman , who played in his first game in more than three weeks because of a sprained left ankle, had more disheartening information for Griffin. Kaman: "To our 29." Griffin: "You know, that says it all right there. Fifty-nine to 29." Kaman: "What about Carmelo (Anthony) not having any fouls till..." Griffin: "Whatever. I'm not going to say anything."

Dave Severns Hired As Clippers' Assistant Coach

12

"Severns' official title is assistant coach in charge of player development. He will also help with game planning and preparation for the Clippers."

T-Mac workout done

31

From Lisa Dillman's twitter: Got this from Neil Olshey on T-Mac:"The workout and visit went well. Tracy (McGrady) will continue exploring his options and so will we." Continue exploring options, does that sound like a no-go on T-Mac?

Del Negro relishing new challenge

4

"Del Negro said he's excited with his core of Baron Davis, Chris Kaman, Eric Gordon and former No. 1 overall pick Blake Griffin, as well as the free-agent additions of "character guys" like Randy Foye, Brian Cook and Ryan Gomes" Who isn't excited about Brian Cook.

"What the Clippers told him is, ‘We know you, we’ve followed you for a lot of years,’" agent Panos Kapazoglou told HoopsHype. "There’s no promise, but they’ve told him, "We will offer you a contract once we know exactly how much money we have left.’"

Wall And Bledsoe Talk About Head-To-Head Match Up

Wall's Washington Wizards beat Bledsoe's LA Clippers by 25 points, so who got the best of who? "You see," said Bledsoe. "I mean the score, it explains itself."

Looks like it might be Demopoulos and Severns. I think it'd be good if Kim stayed on to work with the players.

Clippers should hand keys to LeBron

9

Eh, this article makes me feel dirty. I'd like LeBron to come here, but not that way. At the end of the day I'm a Clippers fan.

Casey waiting for word from Clips

4

Any word on when the Clippers are going to announce the new coach? Didn't they say that they would have a coach in place before Free Agency began, or are they just waiting for the thumbs up from LeBron?

Kim Hughes Just Keeps Hanging Around

9

Interesting article on what Hughes is up to. "Hughes said he got a call April 20, and was hooked in with Clippers owner Donald Sterling. "He said, 'Kim, why aren't you coming into work?''' Hughes recalled Sterling as saying in a phone hookup that also included Clippers president Andy Roeser. "I said, 'Well, I was terminated. When the organization tells you they're going in a different direction and tells you to turn in your (access card) and cell phone, I take it as being terminated."

Chat with Blake Griffin

+

Looks like Blake is going to be answering questions over at ESPN.com on Tuesday. Clipsnation should do something like this with Brian Skinner or somebody. This would have to be the biggest Clipper fan site/blog on the net?

David Geffen wants to buy 51% of the Clippers?

144

Not sure how seriously to take a report like this, and it almost feels cruel to allow myself to dream about it, but wow... " An impeccable source reveals David Geffen is hot to buy 51 percent of the Clippers. Friday night, the billionaire co-founder of the zaftig film-making company, had dinner in Los Angeles with Donald Sterling to discuss just that. Anybody who knows Sterling can't imagine him selling controlling interest of anything he owns, much less turn over the decision-making of his showcase property. "He'll take the Clippers to the grave with him," is the considered opinion of one and all. "They're his entree to Hollywood's galaxy of stars. You have no idea how Donald gets off swaying on the sidelines with demi-celebrities 41 nights a year." For the sake of argument, surely Sterling must understand, by giving way to Geffen, his constellation, which often IS dying in the corner of the sky, would greatly illuminate and increase in value -- should the record-company big shot be able to recruit LeBron like he signed Bob Dylan and the Eagles. In fact, Geffen has been deep in the hunt for quite some time. My source claims he told Sterling he can deliver LeBron as long as he's calling the shots."

The Blazers just signed Camby to a 2 year extension. Looks like he won't be coming back to the Clippers.
