Haley or the Fan poll?

I just want to find out something and prove a point about Jack Harry. Please everyone indulge me this one time and at least vote.  I dont care which way you answer, just vote.  No its not Hope and Change, so dont expect any stimulus money or some clown lying to you about paying your house note and buying you gas for your car. Lets do this to show America and any other Chiefs site what the real Chiefs blog has to say about what "Harry Balls" has done this time.

I'll delete this after 24 hours to save room on the Fanpost sidebar.

Poll
Haley says he did not give a fan the bird. Fan says he did. Whom do you believe?

So, since the Browns beat the Chiefs

I haven't seen any more comments on the team practicing for 3.5 hours on Thursday?

"Volunteer" Defense?

I was just participating in Jon Yoon's post on the defense a few minutes ago and it hit me about our defense this year. Some have said recently that many of our players are just not starter quality for the NFL and that is why we have been in a funk for the last few years. Its funny how reading one thing and then actually thinking of another can bring an idea together. (Rarely am I accused of thinking too much or too often)

Anyways, I have all the respect in the world for volunteer firefighters and still volunteer in my community on my off days.  They are the heart and soul of Americas firefighters since they cover 80% of the United States. Many times you will find departments that dont really have the manpower to train often enough or even have the necessary equipment to attack a fire like it should be from the inside out, or worst case they just are not able to arrive early enough to go inside and put the fire out.

I equate this too our defense. Many times we show up in the first quarter and have a plan to attack the fire (gameplan), but we dont have the necessary guys (firemen who have the training for interior attacks) to do the job against a better equipped "fire". (team)

Other times we are so far outmatched (by a superior team) that we dont even stand a chance to save the house (win the game in any way) before the game even started (late to arrive for a fully involved structure fire).

We got called to help a County Department a few years back on a house fire that was reported to be in the bathroom.  When we arrived we saw one truck and it had two hoses pulled off of it, charged and ready to go.  One fireman was manning the truck, one was standing in the front yard with his radio and one was near the front porch with the hose in his hand.  Another who we couldn't see at first was at the back porch with a hose in his hand. When we walked up we asked where the fire was and the "office in charge" stated it was in the bathroom.  We saw some light smoke escaping through the door and out of the eaves and I said, "what are ya'll waiting for?" His reply, "you guys!"

So it won't surprise me to see another mass exit of players by the time training camp ends next year and a large number of new faces wearing the Chiefs logo for us next season.

Hmmmm.......?

Now, as it is with my sex life, what am I going to do for the next 23 hours and 55 minutes of this day?

Wednesday poor mans excuse for the kook aid drinkers edition

Pardon the interruption in the normal column that is printed in regards to all of us kool aid drinkers, although I have never been accused of being normal, but I was fortunate enough to sit down with Mattt Cassel last night and ask him a few questions on this years team.

Lanier63: Evening Matt, (thats how us southern folk say Hi.)

MC: Hello

Lanier63:  I wanted to ask you a few questions on the team this year and the progress or lack there of.

MC: Sure why not.

Lanier63: How would you rate your performance this year so far?

MC: Absolutely lucky to be alive!

Lanier63: And why is that?

MC: Have you seen our blocking? Have you seen ANY of our games? Hell, I asked the equipment manager to change my cleats to sprinters shoes after the third game? If this continues, I will be gearing up for the 2012 Olympics for the 100 yard dash.

Lanier63: Well what do you think the answer is?

MC: Find anyone that is able to stand between the defenders and me for at least three seconds at a time for three hours once a week. I couldn't even care less if they were blind as long as I have a chance to look down the field and not down a defenders throat all day!

Lanier63: What about all the interceptions these past few weeks?

MC: Do you want to play quarterback for the Chiefs?

Lanier63: What do you plan to do different for next weeks game?

MC: Take out more Life Insurance! Also I am requesting a neck brace and flak jacket! Preventive medicine is the best way to go.

Lanier63: What would you like to say to the fans that think your a bust?

MC: It would be a great Christmas if I were traded!

Lanier63: What do you plan to do in the off season to gear up for next year?

MC: Get my degree in dentistry.  The defensive linemen I have seen so up close this year really have bad teeth problems and I can help them!

Lanier63: What would you suggest for Todd Haley to do in the off season?

MC: Learn to smile!

Lanier63: What would you suggest for Scott Pioli to do in the off season?

MC: Find some football players!

I cannot believe how far the Steeler's seem to have fallen after winning the Super Bowl in just one season. I will be watching carefully to see how they right this ship, maybe our GM can watch too and learn something creative.

Did anyone see this?

Despite that relationship, when plans began to formulate for Sunday’s halftime celebration honoring the late Derrick Thomas, Peterson was told not to attend. Considering Peterson treated Thomas like a son and handled his induction speech at the Hall of Fame earlier this year, giving Peterson the cold shoulder on Sunday was a classless move from the Chiefs. They should be embarrassed.

Dear Roger Goodell,

I hope this letter finds you and yours doing well this Christmas Holiday Season. The reason I am writing to you is to simply give you a few words about what happened after a certain play in Kansas City on Sunday. On a fourth and one, nursing a big lead in the fourth quarter, the Broncos opted to go for it.  And go for it they did all the way to the end zone via an 18 yard run by Knowshon Moreno. Well as you already know, Mike Vrabel had something to say about this to the Broncos bench. Now he didn’t approach their bench in an enticing or threatening manner, he just simply held up a hand signal telling them they were “number 1” on that field that day.

People I am sure on your staff are going to try and tell you it was an off color remark about what the Broncos had just done and will try to get you to place a heavy fine on Mr. Vrabel. I don’t think you should rush to judgment just yet, if you’ll let me explain.

You and I are big boys and I’m sure you wear your big boy underwear the same or similar to the way I wear mine. We both know that emotions can get the best of you in an emotional game. This was in fact an emotional game for the Chiefs. Derrick Thomas was finally laid to rest with his enshrinement and number retirement into the Hall of Fame and Kansas City Ring of Honor at Arrowhead Stadium. Every person in attendance was moved by the scene and recollections of what DT stood for in the hearts of the Chiefs and their fans. DT also stood for what every pro football player in the NFL today should strive to become and that is the best player that his God given talents will allow him to be. Never taking a play off and always ready to give it your all with a positive attitude and outlook on each game.

I ask you Mr. Goodell, what would the NFL be without players willing to show their emotions? What would any sport be where the participants couldn’t show their emotions? An outright emotional outburst can change the outcome of any sporting event if done properly. I believe Mr. Vrabel’s actions will spark an emotional outbreak within the Chiefs players that will result in a more successful team this weekend.

But ultimately it is up to you Roger, to make things right. But to make things right in the fans eyes, you should consider letting Mike Vrabel off with a warning this time. Do the right thing Roger and let us move on from this incident that was simply a show of emotion from an emotional game.
