I was very fortunate today to actually see Holtzclaw and Eastern Michagan team play Army on ESPN. Army has a stud fullback, Collin Mooney, for anyone who thinks the Fullback position is on the way out, you need to see this guy. Anyways, I really believe Hotzclaw can play in the NFL, but I am not ready to declare him a first day draft pick. But, to be fair I have only seen him in one game and that is my opinion, see my signature.

WEST POINT, N.Y. — The Eastern Michigan University football team dropped a 17-13 decision to the United States Military Academy Saturday afternoon, Oct. 11, in non-conference action at Blaik Field in Michie Stadium. The Black Knights used the triple-option attack to rack up 341 yards on the ground to overcome a 13-7 halftime deficit. The Eagles had a pair of late fourth quarter drives to rally for the victory, but the Army defense stood up to the challenge to claim the victory.

Daniel Hotzclaw

12 total tackles, 5 solo 7 assists

[Ed. Note: Took out the link and embedded the video. -Primetime]

Can we place the blame on cover 2 or does Gun have what it takes to coach the system? The defense seems to have not shown us the progress this year that we have made since Gun returned to the Chiefs, compared to the previous years. I know the system was brought in by Herman and Gun agreed to work with it. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Gun as well as most of you do I think. But I really believe we have better athletes than the last two years, but we are not seeing the results in the stats that should be foretelling. I would hope, as many of you have said, that maybe with the addition of a solid middle linebacker, this club can become once again one of the elite defense teams in the NFL.

I just had to add this tribute to Gun

In the down week there either is not enough to talk about or to much to talk about. But I found this little story that I think you guys will enjoy. How about scoring two touchdowns in five seconds? This was a City high school championship game and the quarterback and wide receiver hooked up beautifully on two consecutive drives. I didn't see any linebackers play, so my scouting was offensive at best. (trying to get to 75 words)

I see he is in the final year of a three year deal with the Dallas Cowboys. He is 34 years old and arguably still the best receiver in football. We have two things he craves the most. Only one receiver worth a darn that doesn't always catch the ball and two, salary cap room.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2374189

What he has we need is two things: Ability to catch the football and run with it. He needs someone to fill his stat craved ego every game and who better to do it then us? I am not so sure he is all about the wins as much as he is about himself getting the football. I say sign him to a two year contract that will help us get over the hump in rebuilding and hope for the best.

As far as locker room behavior, we are rebuilding the stadium, so build him his own little locker room!

Did Carl Peterson actually appear in front of a Senate panel on Monday asking for a Congressional bailout for the Chiefs season? According to White house page, Didja Beleavthatgam, Mr. Peterson actually cried to Panel Chairperson Dick Durban that the promise from the NFL for a successful season is actually in jeopardy for the first time in his twenty years at the Chiefs helm. Peterson claims that when he was awarded the 3 players in exchange for Jared Allen from the Vikings, that NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello told him his three wishes would bring him almost anything he wanted. When contacted by phone and told of the hearing today, Mr. Aiello said maybe Carl didn't click his feet together when talking with the Good witch of the North.

Why is it so easy to root against Al Davis?

I found something that took me way back to the beginning days of the old AFL and it is listed on a Raiders website. Most people know that Davis did not like Lamar Hunt, nor most of the owners that originally stated the League. But at least those owners "unquestionably earned" their rights to their teams. Read on if this interests you.

Upon receiving the franchise, Oakland civic leaders found a number of businesspeople willing to invest in the new team. A limited partnership was formed to own the team, which included general partners Harvey Binns, Don Blessing, Charles Harney, Ed McGah, Robert Osborne, and Wayne Valley, headed by managing general partner Chet Soda, a local real estate developer, as well as numerous limited partners.

The Raiders finished their first campaign with a 6-8 record, and lost $500,000. Soda dropped out, and on January 17, 1961, Valley, McGah and Osborne bought out the remaining partners. Soon after, Valley and McGah purchased Osborne's interest, with Valley named as the managing general partner.

After the 1962 season, Valley hired Al Davis, a former assistant coach for the San Diego Chargers, as head coach and general manager. At 33, Davis was the youngest person in professional football history to hold the positions.

Now its gets interesting.

In early 1966, Davis left the Raiders and became Commissioner of the AFL. With the merger, the position of AFL Commissioner was no longer needed, and Davis entered into discussions with Valley about returning to the Raiders. On July 25, 1966, Davis returned as part owner of the team. Though the owner of but a 10% interest in the Raiders, he became the team's third general partner---the partner (for the time being) in charge of football operations.

Six years later, in 1972, with Valley out of the country for several weeks attending the Olympic Games in Munich, Davis' attorneys drafted a revised partnership agreement that gave Davis total control over all of the Raiders' operations. McGah signed the agreement. Under partnership law, by a 2-1 vote of the general partners, the new agreement was thus ratified. Valley was furious when he discovered this, and immediately filed suit to have the new agreement overturned. The courts sided with Davis and McGah. As a result, Valley sold his interest in the team, and Davis---though owning but a small portion of the team---was firmly in charge.

Now with him seemingly refusing to pay Shanahan when he fired him and now the same with Kiffen, is just seems to easy to root against the sore spot of NFL football.

ST. LOUIS -- The winless St. Louis Rams fired coach Scott Linehan on Monday, the day after a fourth straight lopsided loss to start the season.

Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett will replace Linehan on an interim basis. The Rams scheduled a news conference for 1 p.m. ET Monday.
