The Phinsider Wed. Night Training Camp Views..

So i finally got to go to the Fins Training Camp this year.. and gotta say, it was a packed house.

There's even extra bleachers on the south side which had people in them as well.

Nice to see everyone out there..

With that said, i got a chance to see the team up close and had some observations..

Defense...
1. Really wanted to look at the db's.. The corners look good.. and really excited about Bell and Wilson at safety... I think we"ll be pretty solid there..  Nathan Jones had a nice pick off of a White pass, which was the only INT i saw.
Coverage was great, as no wr's were really left alone. They were covered pretty tight the whole night..
2. LB's and D-line looked good.. with a couple big hits going on, but nothing really stood out. They got to the qb's pretty quickly and had the pressure on consistently.. Nice to see JT back on the field with the Fins tho!

Offense..
1. The running game looked pretty good.. with Ricky having the best run all night.. right up the middle, looking like the old Ricky in that play..  Ronnie was lined up in the wildcat several times (he looks really bulked up)...and had a nice sweep to the left which would have done some damage..

2. The passing game looks like it still needs work.. Longest completion was a 30 yard pass to Fasano from Pennington.. wide open in the middle.. Patrick Turner had some nice catches (looked like the tallest guy on the field), but Camarillo had a couple drops and Bess had one as well.. Pennington looked sharp overall... Henne still doesnt look ready, and was a little hesitant.. White was so-so.. completing only short passes.. and threw a bad pick into double coverage.. He does have a lot of arm strength, and that was apparent.. He did have some nice roll outs that would have gained some yards, which might be his biggest threat right now..

There werent any special team drills at night that i saw.

Overall, the team look like its progressing and getting better. We're goin to have a lot more depth this year, especially with the secondary and O-line, which we needed. Still would like to see more from the wrs and passing game, but might be a work in progress for now.
