Lauren wears several hats at SB Nation. In addition to managing all of SB Nation’s legal matters as General Counsel, she handles Business Development for strategic deals and leads SB Nation’s Human Resources. Before joining SB Nation, Lauren worked in the Legal Department at AOL for almost 7 years, leading a team that managed wide-ranging intellectual property matters from video syndication to responsible blogging, from user generated content to photo licensing, from complex technology deals to domain name portfolio acquisitions, from establishment of new brand names to all aspects of copyrights and trademarks. During her tenure at AOL, Lauren spearheaded the implementation of a comprehensive rights and clearances program, and the delicate legal navigation of AOL’s foray into the frontier that is the blogosphere. Between AOL and SB Nation, Lauren worked with Hulu to put the legal agreements and other building blocks in place in anticipation of its 2008 launch.

When Lauren is not being all serious at her job with SB Nation, she is being silly with her husband and 2 little girls...and the cat, of course. She has also been known to be supremely silly in the realm of improv comedy, having performed with improv troupes in the Philly and DC metro areas for close to 10 years.

What about Lauren as a sports fan? Well, Lauren grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs, and has carried her Philly Phan-dom with her wherever she goes. As the scrappy underdogs, the 1993 Phillies have been Lauren's favorite team of all time! She was not sorry to see T.O. leave her beloved Philly, and still isn't sure what to make of the McNabb trade.
