NPR interview with the Braves Organist
There was a piece spotlighting the Braves Organist on Atlanta's local NPR affiliate this morning, and I was fortunate enough to be interviewed for the piece as well. My part sounds a little scatter-brained because I was a bit nervous, but It was a very cool experience. :) Here's the link, if you want to check it out; you can follow the organist on Twitter @BravesOrganist and I'm on Twitter too @BravesLove. :)
Live video of the Jimenez no-hitter celebration
I was there tonight!!! We knew we weren't scoring, but I knew we'd had baserunners, so no-hit wasn't in my head, I guess. (I was thinking perfect game, clearly.) My friend and I had gone to the Braves (and Southeast Sports) career fair earlier that afternoon - we were talking about that. Anyway, at the point of the video, we knew Baby was either going to break it up or it was going to be amazing. Everyone had their cameras out! Here's my live video of the Jimenez no-hitter celebration on Braves Love: http://bit.ly/roxnohitcelebration

Calling all 2008 or 2009 Season Ticket Holders!
I have a friend who's looking for complete sets of the 2008 and 2009 "picture" season tickets. Just images of the sets will be fine; the person does not need the actual tickets. If you have 2006 or 2007 that would also be helpful, but 2008 and 2009 are the most important.
This is very, very important and very time-sensitive -- if you can help, please post here or email me at rainisbeautiful [at] yahoo [dot] com as soon as possible. Thank you!
Last Minute Ticket for today's day game - FREE
Hi Talking Choppers!
I had three tickets to today's 1pm rainout makeup game, and only traded two in for a future date. So if you can make it today, want to see the Mets, and don't mind a single ticket, email me at rainisbeautiful [at] yahoo [dot] com.
Please include your phone number, and I will call back the first requestor and leave the ticket at will call for you.
Section 404 ~ Row 16 ~ Seat 9 ~ $16 value! All seats in the upper level are only $5 today, so snag a friend a $5 ticket at the window and y'all can probably sit wherever you want. :)
(The date says April 4 because that was the date we were rained out -- this ticket will be honored at the gate.)
Thanks, and Go Braves!
Lauren

I really hope I can win this. I love McCann. Never mind, don't go enter! ;)
There are some great articles over there written about not just the Braves, but baseball in general. I write a weekly column there, but mine are mostly puff pieces that love/snark on the boys we watch six months out of the year. :)
Schuerholz Expected to Step Down
From Fox Sports:
The Braves have a major announcement scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET.It's expected that longtime GM John Schuerholz is stepping down and being replaced by his assistant, Frank Wren.
Schuerholz took over as GM in 1990 and the team won 14 straight division titles before struggling the past two seasons.
That's incredibly insane. I can't wait to see the reactions -- from the fans, the media, the players...
What do you think? Is this a good time for Schuerholz to step down? With JS stepping down and BC possibly retiring after next year, are we looking at Frank Wren and Joe Torre in '09?
ETA: 1:40pmET, the official site is confirming the report.
Magic Number
What's the Braves' magic number? I can't seem to find a current number online.
There is so much negative talk all over the internet about how "this season is over!" I'm trying to stay positive, and as long as we're not mathematically eliminated, I'm holding out some hope.
On the other hand, I understand the concern. Even if we make it to the playoffs, I don't know how far we can go. Our guys look progressively pissed off, defeated, and/or exhausted. I understand their frustration; we can't seem to get hitting and pitching together.
I don't like seeing faces like this:

This one is much better:

Let's make the final push! GO BRAVES! (Thanks to vailfiregirl for the screencap from yesterday's game.)
