With a playoff-intensity game coming on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, the Jacksonville Jaguars still are not able to sell out their home stadium.

The Jags announced Thursday that the non-premium tickets will remain unsold 72 hours before kickoff, which means that the game won't be televised locally.

Though the specific number of unsold non-premium seats isn't yet known, it wasn't close enough to prompt the Jaguars to seek an extension of the deadline.

I'm a follower of Jeff Darlington on Twitter... and take it for that it's worth guy.s & girls He had this to say about the two:

- He Heard that the staff privatley thinks Sean Smith is "head and shoulders" above Vontae Davis right now. and that's not a knock on Vonate.

- That he's hearing that the team isn't as excited about WR Patrick Turner as the media is. They like him -- just not as sold as the rest of us.

Can't wait to see tese guys in action.... never been so excited for Monday to arrive.

Former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress, who has a residence in Miami, has told people he would love to join the Dolphins if his legal problems are resolved. The Jets and Buccaneers are reportedly interested. Burress will appear in court next month and faces the possibility of a 3 ½ year sentence for carrying an unlicensed firearm.

WOW! this is great, the Dolphins off an amazing turn around, the Miami-Herald is stating, that Plaxico has told friends he would love to play for the Phins. Give him a one-year contract (maybe 2), based on behavior and certain invectives. He will come very cheap... Lets do this!

• The Dolphins, who have shopped John Beck, brought Fresno State quarterback Tom Brandstater (a potential midround draft pick) to their headquarters last week . . . The Dolphins made an offer to free agent cornerback Demarcus Faggins, and ''it's a possibility'' he could sign, agent Robb Nelson said. The Titans and the Browns are also in the mix.

After attempts to trade the five-time Pro Bowl safety failed, the Cowboys decided to release Williams, their No. 1 draft pick in 2002. Williams confirmed his release Thursday morning in a text message.

By cutting Williams, the Cowboys save roughly $2 million in salary-cap space in 2009 and close the book on a player who was once the face of the franchise.

The PBP is reporting that Jake signed a 5-year deal lastnight. details where not given... a deal this long could only mean he will surely be replacing Satele at the Center spot... don't you think?

The Dolphins hope to have answered their question at center tonight, agreeing to a five-year deal with Jake Grove, an NFL source confirmed.

Grove, 29, spent the past five seasons with the Oakland Raiders, starting 46 games for them since the team drafted him in the second round of the 2004 draft.

let me start off by saying... don't kill the messenger. And as much as i would hate to see it acutally happen... but the Phins did extend Cobbs to a contract and Ronnie should be back 100% from his knee injury.

Schefter pointed out the following: It’s worth pointing out that if Miami cuts running back Ricky Williams, the team will save $3.5 million against the salary cap. Is that worth it to the Dolphins?

Wasn't Parcells after this guy or atleast rumored to be interested bigtime before he was traded away by Detriot? keep a close on on this guy fellas... if he does get his wish by the Browns and is let go (for cap reasons) or on the trade block could be a darkhorse.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that All-Pro NT Shaun Rogers has grown so "disenchanted" with the new Browns regime that he's asked the team to not exercise his $6 million March option bonus.
The Browns deny Rogers demanded his release, but failing to pick up the bonus would make him a free agent. It would also cause Cleveland a $9.8 million cap hit. Eric Mangini has reportedly reached out to Rogers in hopes of changing his mind. The coach did the same in New York with Laveranues Coles, but clearly the Mangini-Kokonis era has gotten off to a rotten start.
