Leafs Fan. Crosby fan (so I sometimes cheer for the Pens). Inexplicably obsessed with hockey, but extremely bored with every other sport in the world. My dream is to one day see Sidney Crosby holding the Cup... wearing a Leafs jersey.
Hey guys, I wrote a post about Luc Bourdon on my blog with leaflover. I don't know him as well as some of you guys might, so we'd love to hear from you.
Apologies for the crappy writing style, it's explained in the post :P
@renhockey Renaud P Lavoie #penguins trade C Mark Letestu to #blue jackets for a 4th round pick. First of many to come ?
As an inspiration to all of us (and the Leafs too, I guess) this is an ode I wrote in grade 12 english.
Dear Mats Sundin, Hi, my name is Leafer87 and I’m a big Leafs fan. You’re my favourite Leaf EVER, and my 2nd favourite player ever (sorry, but the first is...
eager renaissance; People are going to ask if We’re still on antibiotics We are a little high on potential everyone snickers ‘underachieving unable’ But that’s the plan… The plan here is to be younger better, we’re trying to show we’re not just Timbits and MAPLE LEAFS We’re tough We make an impact kind of We’re defensive active competitive getting younger, an organization new team- mates… -old team We’re not done.
Here's a found poem I made from a Star article titled "Lupul eager for spot in Burke's plan" (Jan 10). It's about Canadians coming together to prove ourselves and win Olympic gold on home soil (specifically in mens' hockey) and parallels the Leafs need to prove themselves and get back into the playoffs. Hope you like it, my teacher sure did :)Brendan Shanahan, the NHL's VP of hockey and business development, talks to PuckDaddy about the All-Star Game format, the players' concern of Sid's health, and a neat little Lemieux story.
via www.cbc.ca If you haven't heard at least 87 times already, Sidney Crosby is out with a concussion. Many of us have talked about making a get well soon card for him. Read past the jump if...
HBO preview: Max andSid. Best part is Max's squeaky voice: "I wanna be a hockey player!"
via penguins.nhl.com Disclaimer: This post is not to be used to discuss the pros and cons of MAF, only to be thankful of the fact that the Pens have a #1 goalie whose nickname is literally...
The NHL has taken marketing to a whole new level. 30 new comic book characters will be unveilved at the All-Star game, each symbolising an NHL team. It's even made it to the Australian news
Ex-Penguin Bill Guerin talks about his career, playing with Sid, and his tryout with the Flyers.
... how creepy this is. Let's just say I'll be having locker nightmares tonight (not Pens, I know, but the laugh at the end will make you feel confident in your choice in the Sid-Ovie debate)
A sweet article in the Globe and Mail about Sid moving out of the Lemieux's house and the upcoming season. Hey look, he's finally doing his own laundry! HA, I finally put up a FanShot before PensFan8725!
Disclaimer: this was written in late 2009, so I don't know if it was posted before, but it's August and my first fanshot Le Grand Club (Montreal) celebrated the Habs' centennial by imagining what a six-team league would be like with today's players. Each original six team gets to keep three of their own players, and then conducts a draft to pick the rest of their roster. The original three: Tomas Kaberle, Phil Kessel, Francois Beauchemin The new additions: Sidney Crosby, Dion Phaneuf (article written before The Trade), John Tavares, Anze Kopitar, Jay Bouwmeester, Miikka Kiprusoff, Ryan Smyth, Brad Richards, Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Milan Hejduk, Ales Hemsky, Erik Johnson, Dustin Penner, Niklas Kronwall, Steve Mason, Maxime Talbot How would this team do? What team would you put up for the Leafs and the other teams? Here's the original article if anyone wants to read French.
