Jets draft...
Right guys heres another go at what id love to see from the jets in the draft... Im meant to be studying for summer exams but the drafts just over a week away so i thought id do this fanpost...
I will try to explain why i want these picks and why i think they are there when we pick and all that so you can best understand where im coming from.
So jump with me to find out what are draft is going to be... seriously this is exactly how its going to turn out (joke)
Draft Prospect, AJ Jenkins WR, Illinois
AJ Jenkins vs Northwestern 2011.avi (via 817BigTex)
This is AJ Jenkins people, Take notice the guys going to be a beast.
My take on our draft
Hey guys this is my first Fanpost in a while as ive had exams in university. Feel sick at how poorly we did down the stretch this year so Theres nothing for it but to look forward to the offseason. I will change some picks and such depending on the combine closer to the draft and may even involve a trade or two, because our GM is Mike tennenbaum.
I have not included compensatory picks until we know for certain what ones we are getting.
So here it is my Jets Mock.
Free agency... What I would like to see
So the lockout is finally over... YES!! (Huge sigh of relief) So teams are going to be talking to free agents and then friday the mayhem begins.
This is my list of what i would like to see happen in no specific order.

An early/Wrong 2012 mock draft Enjoy!
Im bored and as someone has already stated this is mockingthedraft so what am i to do.... yes a mock draft
Im keeping the same order as 2011 to avoid controversy and I will include any trades i think could happen. Both of these points obviously will be incorrect next year.
1. Carolina Panthers - TRADE - Arizona Cardinals trade their 1st and 2nd round picks in 2012 and their 1st round pick in 2013 for Carolinas 1st round pick.
Arizona Selects Andrew Luck QB Stanford - Arizona has everything on their team to make them succesful, everything accept a QB and andrew luck could be something special.
2. Denver broncos - Jerrel Worthy DT Michigan - Denver didn't address the DT position at all last year which is a major need for their team, and worthy has a chance to be a big impact player at the position.
3. Buffalo bills - Matt Barkely QB USC -Ryan fitzpatrick isnt the long term answer for the bills at QB, he played well last year in some matches but isnt going to win you a superbowl, Matt barkley has the potential to be the best QB prospect next year and if Andrew luck wasnt in the draft could easily be the first pick overall.
4. Cincinnati bengals - Matt Kalil OT USC - Kalil can plug right in at the left tackle position and gives them an instant upgrade, and will protect daltons blind side for years.
5. Carolina from Arizona – Alshon Jeffrey WR South Carolina – For Newton to succeed he’s going to need weapons around him, he already has a very good running back combo and a solid O-line so all he needs is a go to receiver. Jeffrey can go up and get any pass and has shown flashes of genius.
6. Celeveland trades its pick to Seattle for their 1st, 2nd and 5th in 2011 and their 1st and 4th in 2012.
Seattle - Landry Jones QB Oklahoma - Seattle is another team in desperate need of a QB and cleveland seems to love trading its picks for more players. So pete carrol gets his Franchise QB.
7. 49ers – Dre Kirkpatrick CB Alabama – the 49ers passed on Amukamara last year but they still need a major upgrade in their secondary and Dre Kirkpatrick is probabl the best player on the nation’s top D and the top CB prospect in the nation.
8. Tennessee titans – Quinton Couples DE UNC – the UNC DE machine is in full swing again next year with, across from morgan the titans have nothing and to win that divison you need to get to P manning.
9. Dallas Cowboys – Jayron Hosley CB Virginia Tech – Hosley had 9 ints last year and the cowboys are desperately in need of some CBs.
10. Redskins – Trade – San diego chargers trade their 1st,2nd and 5th round selection for the redskins 1st and 6th
San Diego chargers select – Donte Paige moss DE/OLB UNC – at 245 lbs paige-moss is an ideal player for the 3-4 olb position, he had 7 sacks last year, the chargers need a pass rusher he could be the answer to all their problems.
11. Houston Texans – Alfonzo Dennard Nebraska – The Texans need all the help they can get at the cornerback position end of.
12. Minnesota Vikings – Jonathon martin OT Stanford – The Vikings need to fill in needs in their O-line or ponders going to be on his ass more times than a dog with worms.
13. Detroit Lions – Brandon Jenkins DE Florida state – If this happens id be crapping myself if I was an opposing QB playing against the lions they could easily have the best D line in the league.
14. St Louis Rams – Justin Blackmon WR oklohoma state – Sam Bradford gets his No1 receiver and the rams can actually start winning more games with a viable QB WR combo for years to come.
15. Miami Dolphins – Nick Foles QB Arizona – Miami needs a QB and if Foles has a very good year he could push himself into the first round.
16. Jacksonville Jaguars – Cliff harries CB Oregon – Jacksonville needshelp at CB and in a dvision with as premier passer that help needs to be now.
17. Oakland raiders – Reilley Reiff OT Iowa – This pick makes sense Reiff can plug in at RT, hes athletic yet powerful and could eventually be their starting LT.
18. Washington redskins – Trent Richardson RB Alabama – Richardson is a good back who will instantly upgrade the redskins offense, this pick could be a QB but I believe the skins will find a veteran once free agency starts.
19. New york giants – Manti Te’o MLB Notre Dame – The giants need an MLB Goff is good but hes not a starter, they need a constant starter who can boss the defence an Te’o is the guy.
20. Tampa bay Buccaneers – Zach Brown OLB UNC – this pick makes sense as it’s a big need for the Bucs and I think brown is the best OLB in next years draft,
21. Kansas City chiefs – Vontaz Burfict ILB Arizona st – the chiefs seem set at pass rushing LB now all they need is a good ILB and thie LB core is set for years.
22. Indianapolis colts – Jeff Fuller WR texas A&M - Fuller was a monstor his junior year and there are high hopes for him, this gives peyton a viable no1 as Reggies getting a bit long in the tooth.
23. Philidelphia Eagles – Chase Minifield CB Virginia – Samuels is getting older and will need replacing within the next few years so why not develop Minifield along side samuels.
24. Patriots from saints – Courtney Upshaw OLB Alabama – The patriots need a pass rush and Upshaw is a pass rushing LB in a college 3-4 he has been a very large contributor to one of the best Defenses in College. This is a pick the patriots should make but undoubtedly they won’t because they will trade it.
25. Cleveland from seattle – Lamichael James RB Oregon – The browns have Hillis as their big power back now if they add james they have a deadly one two punch.
26. Cleveland from Atlanta – Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame – With their two picks in round one the browns just made their Offense a hell of a lot better. If Floyd can stay out of trouble hes set to have a good year.
27. Baltimore Ravens – Michael Brewster C Ohio state – irk will be 35 next year so the ravens will look to add a very talented C, they can hope that Brewster turns out like Mangold for the jets who also went to Ohio State.
28. New England Patriots – Robert Lester FS Alabama – Again this pick will probably be traded but it’s a pick the patriots should make, Lester is set for a big year in Alabama and Merriweather isn’t working out in NE.
29. Chicago Bears – Ryan Broyles WR Oklohoma – IfJay cutler gets a legit no1 reciever he can be scary good.
30. New york Jets – Bruce Irvin West Virginia – Irvin has great speed and has a variety of pass rushing moves and his production last year was amazing, if the jets don’t make this pick then Mike tenenbaum is gunshy after that Gholston debacle.
31. Pittsburgh Steelers – Nate Potter G Boise st – The steelers always seem to need help on the O-line and potter is an instant upgrade at RG.
32. Marcus Forston – DE Miami – This is a case of BPA and filling a need. Forston could easily go higher than this if he has a good year, but past problems may lead to a slide down draft boards.
Why so much love for the patriots?
Ive spent pretty much this whole weekend watching and digesting the NFL draft with a small bit of collge work sprinkloed in between and I must say I was happy with my weekend up to today.
I have visited 3 major sports sites nfl.com espn.com and cbs.com and what do i find but so called expert analysts praising the patriots for their so called 'amazing' draft. Seriously what did they do that was so amazing I count maybe 3 picks that are actually any good and only one of them in my opinion is a good pick right now and that was the cannon pick.
These same so called experts gave the jets grades from b- to c-. I dont see how you can give an oranization like the patriots who for some reason reached with nearly every single one of their picks grades ranging from A- to A+. Its utter BULL.
I realise this is more of a rant than an actual fanpost but it just really P'd me off when i saw this today.
UDFA Possibilities for the JETS
So the NFL Draft has come and gone and the Jets have added 6 more players to their team. All players in my opinion who will contribute in many different ways to the team both imediately and eventualy. But We still have some concerns about depth in certain areas so here is my list on who the jets could pick up who are UDFA's and can help the jets at various spots.
1. Wayne Daniels DE/OLB TCU - 6' 260 lbs - 7 Sacks in 2010 and 13 in his career.
2. Scott Lutrus LB UConn - 6'2" 240 lbs - Only 5 sacks over his career but worked more as an ILB but he 4.68 forty at the combine which is quite quick for an LB with a little work He could be a very good pass rusher.
3. Terrence Tolliver WR LSU - 6'4" 214 lbs - had 5 TDS for 579 yds last year and ran 4.59 at the combine some 'experts' had him going as high as the 3rd round in the draft.
4. Mark Herzlich OLB Boston College - 6'4" 247lbs - The guy has great upside and would have been most likely a first or second round pick if he had entered the 09 draft but he didnt and he got diagnosed with cancer and lost a step. He didnt posses great pass rushing skills even before he found out about cancer and it ruined his life but if he can get his speed back he could develop very quickly into a big weapon.
5. Ricardo Lockette WR Fort Valley State - 6'2" 211LBS - Ran a 4.37 at combine could be a big weapon if developed right.
6. Ugo CHinasa DE/OLB OSU - 6'5 260 lbs - CHinasa had 4 sacks last year and 6 in 09. he becnched 22 at the combine and ran a 4.71 forty he can develop into a good OLB.
7.Kentrell Lockett OLB Mississipi - 6'5 241 lbs. *.5 sacks in his career. good gap ponetration according to CBS Sports.
8. Deandre Mcdaniel SS lemson - 6' 217 lbs. - Big strong safety who has average speed running a 4.65 at combine may be a very good FA prospect to pick up and develop behind leonhard.
9. DEnuta Williams FS UNC - 6'2 205 lbs - Williams exhibits great speed and is very confident when going for the ball which results in big INTS but can leave him open for a big play by a WR.
Any Players anyone else can think of id like to know.
GGN Mock Draft Round 2 Pick 25, Seattle seahawks select.
Will Rackley OT/G Lehigh.
Rackley is a very versatile O lineman who at best will be a very good RT for the seahawks or at worst a very good interior guard for them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDhgBSHOa_U
Seattle needs help on the O-LIne in the secondary and at QB with their first round pickl i had them taking a CB so with this pick they address the O-line. I dont think the QB class this year is anything to get excited about and I think Pete Carrol is smart enough to see that so holding out for a good QB next year could be smart move especially as their rebuilding anyway. With rackley and Okung they could have a very good up and coming young O-line for the future
Mid/Late round WR prospect, Denarius Moore Tennessee
So our WR's have been tal, king to the press saying that they can move on if the right offers there. Well im all in favour of letting SH go because i think he's going to want an extortionate amount of money that i dont really believe he's worth. Yes he won us two games last year through two great plays but to be fair that was aginst two very poor secondaries. BE is much more worthwhile to keep around and an all round better reciever. He blocks better and he can go up and find high passes above DB's so ive been searching for a replacement for SH and i really like the look of Denarius Moore.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOki9dQ0nC8
Hes 6' weighs 195 lbs. ran 4.4 forty at combine and benched 225 13 times which isn't alot but he's not a power WR. Last year he caught 40 passes for 981 yds and 9 tds. All he seems to do is make plays. Theres a very big chance hes available by our fifth rounder and i dont know why all ive seen of him and heard about him is good things.
draft confusion
Right i was just watching NFL total access on SKY (UK digital TV) and it said that the draft order had us at 29 and bears at 30 yet every mock iv seen its the other way round so I went back and lloked at last year and they were 11-5 like us but as they beat us in the regular season doesn't that mean that they should be at 30 instead of us?
Id like someone to clear this up for me
GGN Mock draft pick 25, Seattle Seahawks Select Ras-I Dowling CB Virginia
Ras-I Dowling CB Virginia
The seahawks have two major needs. Secondary and QB.
While earl thomas played great in his rookie season collecting four INT's their CB's aren't nearly up to scratch. They ranked 27th in the league in pass yards allowed last season and when you watch the tape that was almost always to the outside against their CB's.
With Jimmy Smith being taken two picks previous I think the Seahaqks have to go with the next best pure CB in this draft and that is Dowling. He ran a 4.40 at the combine which is most definately quick enough. He does have some durability issues playing only five games in 2010 but with an NFL strength and conditioning program those issues can hopefully be sortid. But that being said double moves by NFL recievers and double moves by College recievers are two different things.
He is very solid against the run. He notices a run play developing very quickly and fights past reciever blocks effectively. When a RB is running at him he uses the sideline as an extra man trying to force the RB to run towards that. This has helped him develop some very good tackling techniques. However he does sometimes get beaten by smaller more agile players as he tries to intimidate them by putting in big hits which sometimes goes wrong.
In four years at Virginia he collected 8 INT's and 30 Passes defended.
One thing i love about Dowling is he never seems to be beaten by recievers. double moves never fool him and when he has the reciever in his sights he always turns toward the QB looking for the ball something that many CB's don't posses when coming out of college.
Many people would like to see Seattle take Jake locker here but I think Pete Carrol may want his former QB from USC in next years draft (Matt Barkley). Plus in my opinion Locker doesn't possess good enough accuracy in the pocket to be a first round QB he would need alot of work and need to sit behind a veteran for a season or two and if you select a QB in the first round in my opinion they should play.
Bruce Miller DE/OLB UCF
Im posting this to get some opinions on this guy as I dont know much about him and have never actually seen him play, Ive only seen highlights and we all know unreliable they are. So here are some stats for you.
Bruce Miller 6'2 255lbs. 208 tackles, 56 1/2 TFL, 34 1/2 sacks, 6FF, 3INT.
Combine Numbers: Bench- 35 reps, 40 YD - 4.81, 10 yard split - 1.65
He is projected to go on most mocks in the 5th but I personally want us to use our 4th on him I think the guy looks amazing from these numbers.
But I dont really know himj enough I would like some opinions.
Some late round/FA defensive draft prospects for the jets
This post is to highlight some pretty good prospects that the jets can pick up late in the draft or in FA and get a playmaker. This will be in two categories and that is rush OLB's and NT's im trying to find people who can make an impact and these two positions are two that we Kinda desperately need. s
1. Jeremy beal, Oklahoma - Rounds 5-6. 6'3 260lbs. 28 sacks over four years. 20 in over 2 years.
2.Steven friday, virginia tech - Rounds 5-7 6'4 250lbs. 12 sacks over 2 years.
3. Rodney gnat, Louiseville - Round 7-FA 6'3 253lbs. 11 sacks over 3 years. 9 in 2010.
4. Kenny Rowe,Oregon - Round 7-FA. 6'3 232 lbs. 23 sacks over 3 years (4 years of playing)
5.Wayne daniels, TCU - round 5-7. 6'2 250lbs. 13 sacks over 3 years. 7 in 2010.
My choice for value and production would be Gnat as he had one good year at the end of his colleg career but this was due to only then getting a good defensive minded coach to coach him.
NT
1. Anthony Gray, Southern miss. Rounds 5-7 6'0 330lbs. 39 reps on bench press at pro day. This guy is powerful and can take up some gaps a bit heavy but carries it well.
2. Frank Kearse, Bama A&M. 6'4 318lbs big tall NT prospect stats wont wow you but should be good value late in daft or FA.
MY first mock with possible trades
This Mock involves trades that involve players so before anyone says theres no CBA so a certain trade cant happen then i know but im going on the assumption that something gets sorted out by the draft.
1.Carolina panthers - Julio Jones WR: I know what your thinking right... WOW. Yes im taking Julio Jones before AJ green. Jones is faster and more athletic than Green and Gives Clausen someone to aim for. Im not a Panthers fan but in my opinion you cant close the book on young Jimmy yet when he literally had nobody to throw to last year thats why this pick wont be a QB. Alot of people will then think that this would be a DT but i believe the depth is there this year that a decent DT will still be available for them in the 3rd.
2. Denver Broncos - Nick Fairley DT: This pick does not mean I like Fairley more than Dareus because the truth is i don't and in the end I think Dareus will have a better NFL career but Fairley had a massive season last year with plenty of sacks which is what the broncos need and Dareus just doesn't get as many sacks as Fairley thats why the broncos go with this pick.
3. Buffalo Bills - Cam Newton QB: Buddy Nix wanted a speed RB last year he got CJ Spiller. This year he Wants a QB so he picks Cam Newton. I was torn between Newton, Gabbert and Von Miller for this pick but i think Chan Gailey sees Newton and see's his QB of the future. Newton needs time and can sit behind Fitzpatrick for some time before stepping into the starters role.
4. Cincinnati Bengals - Blaine Gabbert QB: Carson Palmer wants out. So the bengals need a QB Gabbert had a great pro day and has alot of potential the bengals make this pick to have their QB of the future.
TRADE!!! The cardinals trade their first round pick to Philidelphia for Kevin Kolb.
5. Philidelphia Eagles - Robert Quinn DE: The eagles need pass rushers because their pass rush just isnt good enough. Yes they got Grahem last year but he didnt really do much and even if he does become a good rusher Quinn is probably the best DE in the draft.
6. Cleveland browns - Da'Quan Bowers DE: The browns are switching to a 4-3 so need some 4-3 DE's to rush the passer. If Bowers is available at this pick then the browns should run to the podium.
7. San Francisco 49ers - Patrick Peterson CB: Patrick peterson is arguably the best player in the draft. He's a strong and athletic potential shutdown corner. The 49ers desperately need help against the pass this pick is a no brainer.
8. Tennessee Titans - Marcell Dareus DT: With the loss of Haynesworth last season the titans D was abismal so this pick is definately the best option for the titans they need someone to anchor their D line to let their DE's to get to the QB.
TRADE!!! Dallas cowboys trade their first round selection to ST louis rams for their 1st and 3rd round selections.
9. ST Louise Rams - AJ Green WR: Sam bradford showed he's a winner last season and in the game against the seahawks last season he would have got his team into the playoffs if not for some very poor WR play. Green and Bradford can be a dominant team for years to come making the Rams' offense pretty good.
10. Washington Redskins - Phil Taylor NT: Right yes this pick is very early for taylor but its the pick that the redskins need. I think the Skins try and trade this pick but dont get any buyers, so Taylor goes here as the redskins need a big NT to take up room in their 3-4 system.
11. Houston Texans - Aldon Smith OLB: The texans are switching to a 3-4 for some reason even though they have an awesome pass rushing DE in mario williams so they need some pass rushing LB's Smith is the ideal pick for them at this spot.
TRADE!!! Minnesota trade their first round pick to Baltimore for their 1st, 3rd from this year and next years 2nd.
12. Baltimore Ravens - Prince Amukamara CB: The ravens need a shutdown corner on the outside for them to progress to the Super bowl. They trade up to get their guy in front of Detroit and Dallas. Amukamara is arguably the best potential CB in the draft with many people suspecting petersons switch to FS eventually.
13. Detroit Lions - Tyron Smith LT: Matthew stafford has been hit so many times over the last two years that he looks like a practice pad on the field. The lions inested alot of money into Stafford and its their job to protect him.
14. Dallas Cowboys - J.J Watt DE: Jay ratliff is staying at NT so the cowboys need some bulk on that front 3 at DE Watt is the ideal choice for a 3-4 DE and can contribute straight away.
15. Miami dolphins - Mark ingram RB: Ricky williams is old and Ronnie Brown isn't doing much. In a division with a great jets run D the dolphins need to get a player that can make an impact. Ingram is the best RB in the draft and probably the best player available.
16. Jacksonville Jaguars - Cameron Jordan DE: Jordan is a beast and will make the Jaguars D immideately better. The Jags are desperate for some pass rush which makes this pick a no brainer.
17. New england Patriots - Cameron Heyward DE: Heyward makes the pats defence immideiately upgrade. When the pats lost to the jets they could get nowhere near sanchez so Heyward helps create some disruption up front.
18. San diego chargers - Akeem Ayers OLB: The chargers need to put pressure on the QB they released Merriman last year and need some personnel to fill his very large shoes. Phillips is doing a very good job but he cant do it all.
19. New york Giants - Martez Wilson LB: For a few years now the giants have put off upgraading their LB core theyh grabbed Goff a few years ago but he's not a starter in the NFL WIlson makes the Giants D much better from day one.
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Adrian Clayborn DE: Last year the bucs invested a 1st round and second round pick in two young very good DT's now all they Need is a pass rushind DE to compliment them and their front line is complete Clayborn will thrive on the attention that Mccoy will get in the middle and punish opposing QB's.
21. Kansas City chiefs - Nate solder LT: The chiefs need some an upgrade at every tackle position and Solder is the best available LT. He can step in immediately and upgrade the O-line.
22. Indianapolis Colts - Anthony Costanzo LT: The colts need to protect Manning. Manning is arguably the best QB in the game but when he has pass rushers in his face literally 3 seconds after the snap he looks like a college freshman QB.
23. Phillidelphia Eagles - Gabe Carimi LT: Like the two teams before them the biggest weakness that the Eagles have is LT and DE luckily for them they had two 1st round picks and can now grab their LT of the future in Carimi.
24. New Orleans Saints - Corey Liuget DT: Yes they have signed SHaun rogers but hes old and just a temporary solution. Liuget is a very good DT and can learn behind the massive and experienced rgers.
TRADE!!! The Seattle seahawks trade their first round selection to the bengals for Carson Palmer and their 3rd round selection.
25. Cinccinati Bengals - Leonard Hankerson WR: The bengals need an upgrade at QB and WR desperately' With their first selection they got their QB of the future and with this pick they get a big and fast WR for him to throw to. They move in front of the patriots and jets to make this pick as both teams may have a need for a big WR.
26. Minnesota vikings - Jake Locker QB: The vikings fill their biggest need with the very talented locker and fill the most important position in the NFL. Locker was a lock to be a top 5 pick last year so some sort of talent must be there and reportedly the Vikings really really like him.
TRADE!!! The Falcons trade their first round pick to the jets for their 1st and 4th round picks.
27 New york Jets - Ryan Kerrigan OLB: The jets need a pass rush desperately and Kerrigan is an awesome pass rusher with a non stop motor. The jets move in front of the Pats to make this pick.
28 New england patriots - justin houston OLB: The pats gor their 3-4 DE with their other first round pick and now they pick their pass rusher of the future in a very talented houston.
29. Chicago Bears - Derrick Sherrod LT: The Bears O-Line improved down the stretch but is still in need of a major upgrade and sherrod can step straight in at LT or RT.
30. Atlanta Falcons - Torrey smith WR: With roddey white one one side and Smith on the other the falcons WR core could potentially be the best in the leagure in a couple of years. Matt ryan gets a new tall target to aim at and this will only improve his game. I was tempoted to select a DE with this pick but there was no pick I see that has value here.
31 Pittsbutgh steelers - Mike Pouncey OL: The Steelers O-Line is still in need of an upgrade and with the two pouncey brothers up front they are getting two of the best young Interior OL prospects to come out of college in years.
32. Green Bay Packers - Jon Baldwin WR: When your a team that won the super bwol your not going to have many holes however the packers need a big reciever for Rogers to aim at. Driver is getting on in years and Baldwin can learn from the packers legend aswell as greg jennings.
SO there it is my first ever mock. Let me know what you think thanks.
Jets 2011 mock
This is my attempt at a mock draft. this is how it will go for each pick the jets have I will make a pick based on what I would like to happen along with alternatives. so here it goes.
1st round pick 30:
Ryan kerrigan DE/OLB - I am increasingly becoming in love with this guy theres a very real possiblity he isnt around for out pick but i honestly wouldn't be against moving up for him at 6'4 and 260 pounds he is an ideal weight for a s-4 OLB in my opinion and when rex moves his system around like he does you know he's going to be a great with his hand down. You just cant argue with 33 sacks over 3 years.
Other possibilities:
Brooks reed OLB - The only knock on Reed is his lack of production in the sack department however he measures up very nicely and his performance at the combine with all his numbers has him speeding up draft boards.
Phil taylor NT - a guy with a high ceiling ability wise and at worst I think hes another sione pouha wich you cant argue with.
3rd round pick 94:
Greg Romeus DE/OLB - As i live in the UK i dont getmany college games just what is on ESPN America but a few games I did watch in 2009 were PITT games and one player who always stood out was Romeus I honestly bel;ieve if he hadnt been injured last year he would be a 1st round lock so I think this is a steal.
other possibilities:
Edmund Gates WR - Gates opened a few eyes at the combine including mine which made me look up some stuff on him. On youtube there a few good films of what he does and does not do well. He is fast and has really good hands however doesn't run very good routes and sometimes doesn't get seperation when pressed but I love him in the 3rd as he can be developed.
Kenrick Ellis NT - Tis could be a reach at this pick as many people have him going from anywhere in the 3rd to 5th round however all you need to do is watch film on him and see just ow good he is.
4th round pick 125:
Casey Matthews ILB - Right this may be a very controversial pick as many people might not like it but hear me out. This guy comes from a family that produces great football players and I believe Casey has the ability to be one aswell. He may not have done well at the combine but he does perform on the pitch. Bart scott is the leader of this team but I think he has 2 maybe 3 years left and heres his replacement.
other possibilities:
Robert Sands FS - at 6'5 sands is big and he is athletic and he can tackle all the things Rex looks for in his safeties. Maybe we finally get that playmaking FS weve been needing for a few years.
Demarcus Love OT - Love is thletic and quick off the snap making him a good prospect if he is still around at this pick. Last year many had him as a 1st/2nd round prospect however the fact that many teams saw him take plays off made his draft stock drop as it resulted in big plays by the opposing team.
Round 5 pick 158:
Terrel mclain DT/DE - Mclain can play DE in the 3-4 and help out the jets aging frontline. Rex loves taking DE's later in the draft and has a nack for turning them into good players.
Other possibilites:
Greg mcelroy QB - MCelroy knows how to win and can back up Sanchez and if need be step in and play well.
Steven friday OLB - Production isnt great from friday but his quickness and hands let him get by tackles quite easily he can be quite a steal in the 5th however he is an old prospect at 25.
Round 6 pick 189:
Ricky elmore OLB - Elmores not the quickest but he has a nice burst and you cant argue with 25 1/2 sacks in 2 years at college.
Round 7: Pernell Mcphee DE: young strong guy to plug in on front.
Sorry for lack of description towards the end but dont know enough about them only read scouting reports.
Let me know what you think.
wide receivers
Right im doing this fanpost because lately a lot of comments being made around certain forums like espn and nfl have really started to p**s me right off.
I have seen countless times where Braylon Edwards has been bashed and people would much rather have Santonio Holmes on the roster next season, I for one do not agree with this sentemant.
Look dont get me wrong I love SH and think he is a great reciever but I think that BE is a better reciever because of what he offers sanchez, and would be much cheaper.
Firstly sanchez can throw up some jump balls to BE which 9 times out of 10 hes coming down with and its going to be a big play thats som, ething you dont get with SH.
Secondly I think SH is going to want a tone (too much) money next season wheras I dont think BE will demand that much.
And lastly (this is going to be a bit contoversial) i think that SH is more easily replaced than BE just because of the whole size and speed factor. Guys with BE's size and speed dont grow on trees but SH is what? 5'11 with good speed and hands. I am telling you now we could replace him much easier.
If I had my choice id keep both but if thats not possible then I'd much rather have BE who has even come out and said he loves this orginisation. Sometimes you just cant beat that sort of commitment and passion.
Draft
yes i know its kind of early to be concerned with the draft as our season isn't even over yet but all these mock drafts coming out recently have got me thinking. We need a pass rush desperately. If rex can win the superbowl with the pass rushers he has he deserves a contract for life. Saying that i think we need to do what we do in the draft an get Von miller even if we have to move up for him.
Id like to know your opinion on our draft.

draft choices... is WR a must?
this is my little dillema i think that wide reciever is a must this year for the jets and i think we have to take one with one of out first two picks (im kinda still hoping to pick up a 2 for leon) and the guys im looking at are bryant and tate in the 1st and shipley and D thomas in the second. i know we need to address the d line and OLB but i just want everyones opinion on if you think im right about the wideouts my personal fave is if bryant falls to us in the 1st which alot of people see happening but thats just me...
Owusu-Ansah FS?
Right here is my theory... Owusu-Ansah is projected to be a mid round pick. so hopefully be there when jets are picking in the fourth. He has good height and strength standing at 6 ft and pumping out 21 reps on the bench at his pro day. To me this means he has the ability to put in a big hit but also because he was a college CB has good coverage skills. He is fast and strong and therefore can excell as an nfl free safety. I just believe that this could be a very good long term solution at free safety for the jets and they wont have to give a 1st rounder for him which i like.
Would like people opinions on this matter
