Perhaps our Blazers are heady fellows and are just sensitive to the opportunities of the season. It is a time when the dark skies limit our physical resources. The lack of vitality affords us the time to delve deeply into self reflection and meditation.
Pondering the true meaning of ones life takes priority and basketball is placed on the back burner.(I am using this excuse to explain my rather poor showing in the jersey contest).
So I say let us honor their curiosity and bless their emerging new spirits based on self-examination and heartfelt discoveries.
When spring arrives and the energy from the sun awakens the body, perhaps than will be the time they will re-emerge with re-newed energy and wisdom. Just in time for the playoffs.
Until then, I am going to take a much deserved nap.

Dear Dave,
I have been a hospice worker for 15 yrs. I am blessed to have witness hundreds of deaths and comforted countless family members.
Dave, when I read your initial post about the passing of your mother it hit me like a ton of bricks--and I felt so sad and tender towards your situation.
I have been reading this blog since last spring. I feel like I know a small part of you very well (as well as all the cast of characters who respond to this blog--). I am so fond of all of you. It did take me awhile to appreciate the genius(?) of fatty---but that is another story.
I would love for you to continue posting on how you are doing. I know that it will be entertaining, insightful, and thoughtful, much like this bog.
