A very interesting article by NFL Network's Michael Lombardi. He basically argues that the Falcons have an inflated opinion of their talent because they focus too much on their performance at home and not enough on the road. He makes good points, though I think he is a little harsh on our defense. And saying that Spoon is anything but a resounding success, well, that's just wrong.

What's more dangerous than Curtis Lofton on a football field? Curtis Lofton on a football field with the knowledge of how to break an opponent's will.

From J-Mike's blog. Falcons landed a 3rd round and a 5th round pick as compensatory picks.

Obviously its speculation, but if I'm the Falcons I'm calling the Chargers up here. Cromartie is young and talented, and is a former pro bowler. While Norwood may not be great trade bait despite his speed, I think Snelling has demonstrated his ability to be a work horse back who can add depth to their running core. If we could swap a one for one and keep our picks intact, we could focus completely on getting a rush end and then adding a pair of fresh legs in our backfield in the draft.

While I prefer to stay under the radar, Schein likes the makeup of our roster and thinks we can take the next step. Knock on wood now everybody to avoid jinxes!

Will they sign one this time?

Also looking at new long snappers.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news folks, but this is not a good situation at all. We need Jerious to get healthy ASAP.

Perhaps Jerious is really struggling getting back on track?

Jeremy Newberry has announced his retirement according to PFT. We signed Newberry in the offseason to add some depth across our o-line, but apparently a knee injury he suffered just will not recover. TD will probably start looking around heavily for someone to replace him and add greater depth.

The Falcoholic Bill Williamson of ESPN on Dorsey

Williamson reports that Dorsey to Atlanta may still happen, and figures that likely compensation would require our first round pick and a third round pick.  Questions

1) Is this a good deal?  Would trading for Dorsey be better than anything we could get in the first round, and would it be worth sacrificing someone in the third round?

2) If the trade were to happen, should we be happy that we are in the Patriots good ol' boys network, making deals between known execs, or is it slightly suspicious the Chiefs would be willing to offload a guy they took at #5 after only 1 year? (Even IF he's not a great fit for the 3-4)

3) Would Dorsey and Babineaux make the most dynamic DT tandem in the NFC South?
