Just read Ian O'Connor's story for ESPN about Isiah Thomas' desire to go back to the Knicks, bring LeBron James and Dwayne Wade with him in 2014 and parade down Madison Avenue with a World Championship...(shaking head). Is it an Onion article? Nope. Will it change your opinion about him? If by "change" you come to learn that not only is he a bad coach and manager, but also delusional and a liar, perhaps. O'Connor's article and the accompanying interview Isiah gives ESPN Radio's "The Michael Kay Show" to try and defend himself is so crazy that radio host actually asks him at the end, "are you an evil person?" My dislike for Isiah dates to 1990, but what he did to the Knicks as a GM and coach during the exact period, start to finish, of my tenure in NYC, turned dislike into something much stronger. I want to make the Knicks my second favorite team. I'm mentally prepared to do that some day. Please, Jim Dolan, stop letting this guy be involved in your team. Get him out of the NBA and keep him out forever. Thanks for listening, fellow Blazer fans. I didn't know who else to turn to.
Amidst all of the well-deserved Camby mania, I was reading Quick's article today and was wondering if we'll see Przybilla around during the Playoffs. Anyone know?
Last spring, I was watching an Oregon Duck basketball game and the satellite went out. Comcast started playing this 30-year old documentary about the Blazers championship season while they figured...
Very interesting to read the live game thread on the San Antonio Express-News site during Portland's win on Wednesday. It goes from acknowledging all of the Blazer injuries before the game, to "they're not playing Roy, this is going to be a feel-good win," to what the heck is happening, let's blow up this team?! Two lessons I was reminded of are 1) we are not the only fans who have micro freak-outs while watching our team as closely as most of us (and apparently S.A. fans) do, and 2) we just need to hang in there optimistically with whomever we have left. Also, Bayless and Juwan are bringing some contagious emotion on a nightly basis that I haven't seen all year. This win showed a lot of heart and looked like fun for everyone playing - none of them have a thing to lose.
