A focus on the really young ones today, as Ross and Perez look to continue their awesomeness.

I'm in love. Ross - 5/3/0/0/1/10. 5:0 GB:FB. All of his outs tonight were via K or GB.

Perez is God. 5/3/1/1/1/8, with the 1 run coming on a solo HR that really wasn't. Nooch is 2/2 with a walk and a 3 run bomb, and Matt West is 1/2 with a walk.

BAK - 9:45 - Bleier

FRS - 6:00 - Ballard

OKC - 4:00 - DH Eyre/Rupe

1st game - Hamilton's 2/4 with a 2B and 3B, so his wheels are working fine at least. Smoak's 1/3 with 2k's, which obviously means RUDY'S ALREADY GOTTEN TO HIM.

Poveda's been hit around a bit but it doesn't matter because Spingfield's pitchers decided to collectively pull off their best David Price impressions. Tim Smith is 2/3 with a homer and 7 RBIs through 4 innings, Whittleman is 1/1 with a homer and 3 BBs.

HIC - Brigham

Brigham - 2/1/0/0/0/4. Hamburger and Castillo aren't doing so hot. Macumba - 3/5, HR, 5RBI, Santana - 3/4, HR, 3RBI, Nooch - 2/3, HR, BB, 4RBI. Latin Wind went 3/5 with a couple of doubles.

SPO - Tullis

Hickory - 6:00pm - Fredo Boscan makes his 4th start since coming off of the DL.

Bakersfield - 9:00pm - Ryan Tatusko fills in for Michael Main. I have no idea why Main is missing this start, but if his start to the season is any indicator, it's probably something catastrophic.

Frisco - 7:00pm - Kasey Kiker will try to get out of the 4th inning tonight, which he's only managed to do once in his last 4 starts. At least the dude's missing bats.

OKC - 6:00pm - Josh Rupe.

C - Perez/Brigham tag team combo of doom (!!!!!!)

Perez got knocked around in the 4th, ending up with a line of 3.2/3/6/3/5/3.
Brigham was decent enough though, pitching the last three innings for a line of 3/4/1/1/1/3.

BAK - Gomez at 9pm cst.

Typical mystifying Beltre night. No hits, but a walk (!?), an error and two steals.
Gomez got his fair share of K's, but between his horrific defense and SF's ridiculous A+ team, his numbers aren't too great. 6/8/7/4/2/8.

FRS - Harrison Rehab start (!!!)

Harrison: 4/3/1/1/3/1. Not too impressive, although he put up a strong 9:2 GB:FB ratio.
Tim Smith went 2/4 with a double.
Whittleman: Golden sombrero. Assuming he signs, Mendonca is basically our best 3B prospect already.

OKC - FELIZ WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feliz ran into trouble in the 3rd, giving up 4. Someone also stole home off of him. However, he only walked one and only needed 72 pitches to get through 5. Positives!
Max went 2/3 with a BB and a 2B. Please start playing well so you can bolster a trade package.
Mendoza's been horrific as a reliever in his latest stint for the Redhawks. Gave up 4 runs in an inning tonight.

I need to fill space. Jamey came out with another trade scenario for Greinke today: Salty, Hurley/Harrison, JMJ/Cruz, Arias and a lower level prospect for Greinke/Ramirez. There's a monstrous 15 page post about it in the Newberg forums. Would any of you do that trade? My first reaction was "effing no".

Main's done. 5.2ip/5h/1r/1er/0bb/6k. Another good performance. He got tired in the 6th and gave up a couple of hits before getting pulled.

It looks like they're DH'ing Max while TT catches. I can already hear the plaintive cries of Nate Gold fans across the planet. Ideally, IMO at least, that's the setup we'd use in the majors next year (TT catching, Max DH'ing). Hopefully we can find teams willing to give us a decent return on Salty and/or Laird.

I apologize for that uninteresting piece of commentary, but I was 30 words short and I'm betting I'm not now.

There have been some really encouraging hitting performances so far. Hunter's been good too.

Clinton - Kirkman - 7pm

After being benched the night before, Engel Beltre comes back and is 2-3 so far with a double and 2 runs.

Frisco - Parker - 7pm

Elvis is 2-3 with a run and a walk. He also stole his 51st bag of the year. I'm of the opinion that if we're going to include both him and one of the catching triumvirate in a deal for a young pitcher this offseason, it had better be for someone with less uncertainty than Greinke. I really have high hopes (and expectations) for Elvis.

Whittleman's 2-3 with a rbi too.

OKC - Hunter - 7pm

Hunter - 6ip/3h/0r/0er/3bb/5k.

Max is 2-3 with a hr and 2 rbi.

Main's finished with a line of 6.2ip/5h/4r/3er/0bb/8k. He was good through 6. For some reason, they kept him out there for the 7th and he gave up 2 solo HR's. Still a good performance.

Per the pre-game show, Justin Smoak will be joining Clinton. He should be a pretty nice addition for their playoff run.
