Ok, I heard on the radio today that if U of L gets a 1, 2 or 3 seed, we'd probably play in Dayton and Indy due to the Pod System.  While I doubt we'll get a one, we should get a 3 anyway.  That would be cool if the Cards could play in Dayton, Indy before moving on to the Final Four.  On WKRD, the callers in the first hour (obviously yUK fans by their comments...) didn't pick U of L to make it.  In the second hour, EVERY caller picked U of L to make the Final Four.  A lot of them picked Pitt (not ONE picked UConn which I found strange), all picked NC (of course) and a few of them picked Memphis for their 4th team.  One guy picked Michigan State to make it ONLY BECAUSE of their coach.  I like Oklahoma for my fourth team although the concensus seems to be that they don't play anybody.  I've watched them this year (love those  brothers....) and really love the way they play.  I can't wait until the brackets come out in what, 2-3 weeks?

OK, here's what I want U of L  fans to do.....why not have a Stripe Out at the next home game.  Neutral Zone could sell striped TShirts for $10 that could easily slip over whatever we wear to the game. (I don't know who would make the shirts - maybe the same source that was used for the black out or white out shirts).  Think about 20,000 striped shirts (no whistles please)....I think it would be too fun.  I think it beats white out, black out, any out.  The refs wants to be the stars of the games?  We'll join in the fun. 

1/20/09   I just got a response back from TJ and he is sending my idea of a "Stripe Out" to their Marketing Department....looks like U of L is considering the idea.  Cool.

Ok, I can't watch my Cardinals continue to self-destruct against ole Miss so thought I'd post this - if you need something to make you LOL, you got to watch this.  At this point in time, I don't know how the Cards are doing but I can't watch them fritter this game away.  If we pull this out, it will be a Christmas miracle because we are trying so hard to give it to Mississippi.....Samuels has got to JAM the ball when he's under the basket - McGee didn't show up; TWill always gets rebounds and is there to help and E5 has had a great game.  If Samardo plays timid like he did the second half of this game against yUK,  the "picker" Patterson will have him for a snack.....

As I have said before, TJ KNOWS how to be a friend even to the point of being deceived at times.  Koach on the other hand is a lousy friend to TJ.  I believe a good friend would, at this point , seeing the unrest and potential harm to the U of L Football Program, say to Tom......you gave me a shot and I blew it.  Now, I am NOT going to stay and cause you more pain and possibly wreck everything you've worked your butt off to achieve for the past 15 years.  Instead, he is digging in his heels vowing to stay until it's fixed (yeah, like a bull in a china shop) and leaving TJ out there to defend his pitiful performance.  With friends like SK, Tom doesn't need any enemies. 

Krag is talking to Mr Football?  It seems strange that U of L isn't mentioned as being on his list when the kid is friends with Victor Anderson.  I know he's small but he can play.  When Koach had the now famous presser, he said he was going after local kids - was that just something to say?  I wonder why he hasn't talked to Deuce Finch?  I don't want him going to yUK.

Since when is U of L "Big Red"?  Yesterday at the game it sounded like the guy cheerleaders were chanting Go Big Red........when did we become Big Red??? Hate it , Hate it, Hate it.  Also, for the record, I think the Pep Band sounds better than ever.  I love Patrick Hughes but I'm sorry he is making an issue out of the Pep Band being under the Athletic Dept rather than the Music School.  Don't read me wrong, I get his point (well taken) but I have to say that the band sounded and looked better yesterday than they have for a while.....anyhoo, BOO Big Red - let's just go CARDS !!!!  Let's stick with our traditional C  -  A  -  R  -  D  - S  go CARDS go.

I  think Koach may have decided that if he can't succeed here, he will just leave and that is what TJ meant when he said in yesterday's press conference that Krag will be back next year if he wants to come back.   It wouldn't surprise me at all if when he and Tj talked Krag said he would just leave if things don't get better.  I think that would be a kind thing to do - it would keep Tom from having to boot his friend out the door and the fans would be relieved.  Speaking of coaches, I watched the Ball State/Central Michigan game last night and I WANT THE CENTRAL MICHIGAN COACH!!!!!!!!!! WA WA WA (that's me crying and throwing a temper tantrum).  Even though they lost last night, he has won 3 championships and that team is soooo well coached and "pretty" like we used to be - rock hard bodies with NO fat - fast and mean and first class down to their uniforms and sparkly helmets.  Yeah.  I want him to be our new coach.  Butch Jones.....that'd be the guy.  Go CARDS  ,o)

I loved Howard Schnellenberger and one thing he said while he was at U of L that has stuck in my pea brain regarding any football program or any football game is….you have to BELIEVE. I have seen undermanned teams pull out amazing victories because they refuse to quit and bought into that philosophy. I’ve seen coaches struggle for a few years and then because they didn’t quit, start winning - they started to believe in what they were doing. It’s hard to watch our Cardinals fall when (for a lot of us) we have waited over 20 years to reach the upper level of achievement that we had under Bobby. Now to see it sliding down that dark, muddy hill it is painful to watch and we feel helpless to stop the momentum. My fear is that we will lose TJ because of this mess and some real bandwagon fans who continue to make his life miserable. Do I think SK is the man to take our program back to where it was when he got here? Absolutely not but it’s not about me…..it’s not about any of the fans ultimately. It’s about our Program and what’s best for it. I truly believe TJ will take the appropriate action we want him to take but I understand it is too soon to do that now - he has GOT to let SK fail and fail completely which I believe he is on his way to doing. As fans, we have to keep our heads and not jump off the deep end over this. Buy your tickets - show up and sit in those seats BEFORE kickoff and STAY in those seats whether we are winning or losing on the field until the game is over. Denny Crum used to say that Louisville has the best fan base in the country. I still believe that. The rubber is meeting the road and we need to show our class as a fanbase. We WILL win again and we WILL go to BCS bowl games again. BELIEVE, BELIEVE, BELIEVE. Go CARDS!

I heard from a very reliable source that Koach is overriding Jeff Brohm on offense.....has anyone else heard this?  In a weird sort of way it made me feel a little better to think that because I found it hard to believe that somebody with Jeff's experience both on and off the field would call some of the bonehead plays we've seen on offense.  I know that Alabama tried to hire Jeff away the past two years....he must know something but it isn't showing all that much on the field.

you know, with all the bad stuff going on I had a horrible thought last night....what IF an opposing team has the audacity to stomp on our Cardinal this year - will our record of defeats against teams who do that hold?  Would that get our team riled up enough to knock the stuffing out of the other team?  It is so pitiful that I think of these things at night - I REALLY need to get a life.  Go CARDS!

The 2-3 day coverage on ESPN of Louisville sports this weekend (starting tonight I think) should be fun.  I love the "little brother" dig Bozich gets in.   I doubt Louisville will win but we will, as fans, have a chance to vote for Louisville.  Sounds like fun and  the recognition for our city is awesome.  Wasn't it TJ who came up with the old billboard copy.....Best college sports town in America???  Oh yeah.

did you see the article in the CJ yesterday reporting that Bill Curry has taken another coaching job at Georgia State?  Let me ask you a question....is there something about Curry that reminds you of Kragthorpe?  Scary isn't it?  Other than Curry, what other college football coach would use words like "stunning" and "serendipity".  Let's hope #1) Kragthorpe doesn't mirror Curry's record while at yUK at U of L and  #2) a Georgia State comes calling for Kragthorpe.  Wouldn't that be a bit of sweet serendipity?

Did everyone see the Top 25 in College Basketball last night?  U of L is 5th.....multiple BE teams in the top 25 - only one SEC.....we should be in for an exciting ride this year.   What do you think about U of L sitting at 5th?   I was surprised that UConn was ranked lower than U of L but I don't keep up with them unless it's just before a game...are they a little down this year?  I know that got that guy that UK courted (sorry, can't think of his name but he was here for the All Stars game and I read in the paper where the yUK fans chanted UK to him as he left the floor.  I think he's 7' tall.  What IS his name?  (I hate these senior moments...)  By the way, I didn't see yUK on the Top 25 list....hmmmmmmmmmmmm.   ;o)

Happy Father's Day.  Hope everyone has a great day today.   It is hard to believe we have to wait until football season to get rockin' again but we can do that....ok, I need 75 freaking words and how many times can I wish you guys Happy Father's Day?  While we're at it, does anyone know how Fathauer is doing this weekend????  I turned it on for a while but no mention made of the college guys -  just a lot of talk about whether or not Tiger's leg will hold out.  

I just got a response from the email I sent to TJ the other day telling him how much we appreciate all that he has done and continues to do for U of L.  In that email I told him I hoped if the BE came calling that he wouldn't leave Louisville/U of L to answer that call.  He emailed me today  i.e...." Linda, rest assured I am NOT interested in the Big East Commissioner's position".  (he capitalized the NOT ).  He went on to say that he IS interested in securing a good replacement for Tranghese.  I am so glad to hear that TJ would not be interested in leaving for that position because I do feel as though he will be on the BE short list of possible replacements.

I have heard Krag on two separate occasions make the statement that he had to take a pay cut to come to Louisville.....do you think that's true?  I'm not sure how anyone would know whether or not this is true but I'm interested in your opinions on this....I can't believe he would have to take a pay cut UNLESS he had a circle of wealthy people at Tulsa paying him over and above his package-salary.....I do know that U of L pays their coaches very well and that's why I don't understand why he'd be making less here than at Tulsa.  Any ideas?

Billy Clyde that there is a kid here in Louisville (at the Christian Daycare Center) who rocks.  He's 37 inches tall and can really move.  He has great moves to the basket but he has a tendency to put the ball down a lot instead of jammin' it....those Lil' Tykes baskets move though and he knows he could tip the goal if he smashes it too hard. While I was in the nursery/gym watching him yesterday, there was a buzz in the crowd and someone said that they heard that Billy Clyde was coming to watch this kid and that little Tommy (they call him LT for short - he IS short.....) had received over 500 letters already from UK fans and administration.  LT is a work in progress but shows a lot of po'.  Just wanted to give you all a heads up.  There were several hard nosed UK fans there yesterday trying to teach him how to say UK but, well his attention span isn't very developed yet and that may cause Billy Clyde to give the kid another year or two to develope.

Tune in to channel 70 tonight.  I am watching the Cardinals play the cats....in Lexington.  We are up 2-0 on the #9 cats......It's very interesting listening to the comments the announcers are making - very complementary of the Cards and Coach McDonall (sic).  Our kids look sharp and they are really playing heads up ball.

DP didn't make the AP All American list - not one U of L player made it.  I just don't understand why - what do you think?  Got to pass along a depressing thing I saw today...it was windy, raining and I was stopped at a red light when a van plowed into the back of a small car with a U of L flag on it (no one was hurt) - the poor old guy who hit the other car in the rear got out of the van and, yup, he had a U of L hat on.....man, as if they didn't feel bad enough already.  I don't know about you but I have GOT to snap out of this funk......I'm also bummed because I see on the U of L website that the UL vs UK game is set for Sunday, 8/31 - I can't believe that TJ let Ky call the shots again.  I say drop the series......GO CARDS

Does anyone watch the Red/Blue Report on Channel 2 every week?  A couple of weeks ago, Daryl Bird who represents the "Blue" had this to say about the rest of their season..."the fans won't like it but here's how it will play out:  we'll be in a lot of close games at home but we will win those games by 3-4 points at the free throw line". That appears to be exactly what is going on. How did he know that?  I didn't watch the Florida/UK game today but did see the score - 1 point victory! I haven't checked to see how many times UK went to the free throw line as opposed to how many times Florida went....the Arkansas game was also won at their house by a few points and UK was sent to the line twice as many times.

OK, I know the Sr. Day Game tomorrow is sold out but I STILL NEED 2 TICKETS !  Is there anyone out there who knows where I can get two tickets????  I was hoping to hear more about whether it will be "Goggles Night" for the game tomorrow.....Terrence Farley looked good on the coach's show this morning and man it was great to be able to watch the show without having to put up with Terry Meiners and his constant giggling......GO CARDS !
