PTI Fist Pump

I'm currently watching PTI and one of the subjects reads "Fist Pump".  I laughed to myself like an idiot when I saw it.  Its amazing what this site has done to us.  Unfortunately, it was not a feature on Darryl Clark's finishing move.  FIST PUMP HIM (mortal kombat voice).  I'm not really good with photoshop but I think that would be a great picture to crop Clark into.  Someone get on it.

Givens too cool for prep school

So apparently Darrell Givens did not get good enough grades in summer school and will not be able
to enroll at Penn State.  LJ Sr. recommended that Givens go to a prep school and then come next year.  But that didn't jive with Darrell so he has chosen to attend another school.  He is now considering several schools and surprise surprise Florida is one of them.

In my opinion, if you aren't willing to go to prep school in order to get your grades up, like Clark did, then you should have never called yourself a Nittany Lion in the first place.  Hopefully Derrick Thomas gets the grades this summer so that he can be ready if we need him this year.  At least this opens up another scholarship.

Devon Smith might actually be 13 years old

I came across this strength and conditioning video on gopsf and figured I would check it out.  You'll see a couple of the guys lifting and a couple of short interviews but the main thing you'll notice is a kid that looks like he's in middle school ... yeah thats Devon Smith.  He's got some work to do, even if he can fly.

Fortt visiting this weekend

So there are some whispers that are going on concerning our recruiting in the near future.  In addition to those rumors, supposedly Khairi Fortt will be down this weekend to visit the players and check out college life at State College.  I think we all knew this weekend was going to be a pretty good one for us, but what  if Fortt added to it and committed on his visit.  I can honestly see it happening.

Bolden to decide Friday

How convenient is it that the day that it is announced that PJ may miss his entire senior season, is the same day that Robert Bolden informs Scout that he will announce his college choice this Friday.  He will be deciding between Oregon (its the cool thing to do), Louisville, and Penn State.  My money is on us, obviously.

On a side note, I am sure that PJ will get through this injury just fine and I doubt that he will miss the entire year.  I just hope it doesn't become one of those nagging injuries that flares up throughout his career.

PJ Jones Injury

I have been a long time reader but just recently decided to sign up for BSD.  Unfortunately my first post is somewhat negative as there is news coming out of the FOS boards that PJ has broken either his ankle or his arm.  But there is still plenty of time for that to heal and it shouldn't keep him from reaching his potential with us.  One positive that could come of this is that Bolden could see this as an opportunity (as long as he stays healthy) and our chances of landing him become even better.  And then ultimately we will have two stud freshman qb's in 2010.
